Good morning everyone. Seriously? The images are up because someone found them on a shelf in store? . . . {laughs and laughs} I totally disagree. The only thing the old compound battle had that this one doesn’t have and better was Quantum Suit Nebula. Anyway, updated thoughts? This changes nothing about my priorities except confirming that I probably will get the Endgame final Battle. New Iron Man looks great, the build’s a drastic improvement, no pointless vehicles and Thanos . . looks sorta like a Ken doll but it’s better than his “rawr rawr destroy everything” faces from 2018 and 2020. (Didn’t get the 2019 compound version, this’ll be a worthy substitute.) Huh. The Wakandan Flyer’s not what I was expecting. But I like it! Definitely getting that one too. I don’t need another Benatar, or the golden glove, or a 4+ motorbike. I’m undecided on Iron Monger though. Depends on budget I guess. Fingers crossed that New Asgard lives up to expectations, I want Korg!

Wow. I had zero interest in this set and I’m somehow still disappointed. Meh. Why couldn’t one of the interesting ones have been found in a store? Oh well maybe tomorrow.

Can anyone tell if the Iron Man in the Endgame Final Battle is the same fig as in 2019 or a new one? I really want to get a good look at that Iron Man, it might be what sells me on that set.

I assume you mean Kai and Zane’s crafts from the other sets, since the Hydro Bounty only has enough hull space for Cole and Lloyd’s? In terms of show accuracy, I wouldn’t worry about it. The pods were never stored in the Hydro Bounty, instead that was two of Lloyd’s Mech in that space. (And I’d be very impressed if anyone could downsize that enough to fit even one of them in there . . damn, sort of want to try it now.) But if it’s just something that you want to do for your own sake . . get a second Hydro Bounty and combine them. Maybe make one that’s twice as long, or twice as wide and with two bays (that’d probably be harder but still doable.) Thanks, this is great! Gotta say, the more I look at Jay’s scuba car, the more I like it. Those initial images really weren’t flattering, and the prominent fins are definitely the worst parts of the build - the main chassis and the turbines in either side look great, and is that Star-Lord’s blaster in light grey used as exhausts? Wow.

If it helps, a lot of older sets pop up on eBay and BrickLink preowned for shockingly low prices at times. I’ve got a couple that way that I missed beforehand.

I personally really thought those little pods would merge with the other vehicles and use them as armour. Kind of disappointed that wasn’t the case. I’m tempted to make it so but probably won’t bother; I’m likely going to convert the Hydro Bounty into a troop carrier for my armada and just scrap the pods. Doubt I’ll even get Lloyd’s mech, but Jay’s car has good minifigures and I want lots of the sea snakes so I might get that one and see what I can do with it.

Ooh, I hadn’t considered that as a possibility, but that would make perfect sense! It’s literally referred to as the Snow Suit, so a winter-themed set like the Advent Calendar would be perfect. They did put teal Captain Marvel in that polybag, so it wouldn’t even be unprecedented. Here’s hoping!

Found it! It was hidden behind another picture as a list of rear box arts. Interesting thing to note; the Hydro Bounty almost definitely is not built using a large hull piece! I’m pretty sure it’s those new smooth road plate 5x8 ramps recoloured in white and turned on their sides, which is great!

Only the Bountu has hairpieces for the ninja, and not all of them, Kai and Lloyd at least, possibly Cole and Jay but I’m not certain. Also you can get the whole character lineup by getting the Bounty and Sea Temple; Scuba Nya is exclusive to the Bounty and Glutinous and Benthomaar are exclusive to the Temple, and the whole ninja lineup is in the Bounty. That way you’ll only have duplicates of Kalmaar and Scuba Kai. (And the generic sea snake soldiers but those are massable minions, not named characters.) (The Mech and car only have Lloyd, Jay and Cole respectively, and more generic serpents, while the dragon has NRG Nya, Zane, Kalmaar and snakes, all of which are also in the Bounty except NRG Nya who’s in the Temple.)

We still haven’t seen the City stunt show subtheme’s official reveal, and that’s slated for June too last I checked. I think that’s the only holdout other than Marvel though. Fingers crossed, but we’ve had reveals only a couple of weeks before the release before, at this point it wouldn’t surprise me if we didn’t see the sets for two more weeks yet.

Oh wow, the farm’s even better than I hoped! I’ve been wanting farm stuff for so long, and this is the closest we have to a casual Mickey in any of the sets so I’m definitely getting that one! Also nice to see that they actually didn’t completely leave Donald out of the wave. So do we think this is a one-off wave or will there be more?

So a new image popped up; apparently it’s not enough to have Police and Fire themes dominating City anymore, now they have to work together. It’s some kind of police lighthouse base with a criminal’s boat that catches on fire, and both a fire boat and a police helicopter go to rescue/imprison him. Wow. This feels like a new low, though I can’t entirely put my finger on why.

The phantoms are characters, they count.

A bit disappointed that it looks like the interior sections don’t connect, but I didn’t count on the front part being removable or the hull working as storage space. I like it, especially because it seems like there in fact is not a hull piece! Definitely getting that now.

Okay, so it looks like Lloyd’s Hydro Mech actually doesn’t have an alternate build of some kind? In that case, it looks really weird with that giant hull shoulder. Meh to Jay’s car, just another ninja vehicle. The Hydro Bounty is awesome, really hope the interior lives up to it. Also I still can’t tell whether or not it uses a big floating hull piece, does anyone want to weigh in? The Temple’s a bit of a mess but still gorgeous, and I’m definitely picking it up. And I also like the water dragon, but it’s a bit samey with the other dragons in the past - I’m getting really sick of that same tail feature. Undecided whether or not I’ll get the dragon, depends on budget I guess. Pleasantly surprised that special Nya comes in two sets though!

Huh. Something looks off about Flame to me. I’m not sure I’m a fan of that. The Ultra Sonic Raider’s just rubbish. Promobricks has more pictures? Hold on.

Aw, man, you’re right! The prelim images showed Goofy as being identical to the train station. Well that fire station just became a lot less of a priority to me, given it’s alternate outfits for three of the four included characters. Actually, come to think; one set has Fireman Mickey, one set has Space Mickey, one set has Pilot Mickey, then the Minnie and Daisy set has them both in alternate outfits . . there’s not a single figure in this entire line so far that’s just a main character in their normal outfit except for Pluto?! Of course we haven’t seen this rumoured farm yet so I might hold out hope but looking at the other four sets . .

Okay, wow. Is it just me or are these new ‘stage’ sets kind of awesome? I love them! The pirate ship is really cute, I like the ice cream parlour, and the hip hop limousine, and the alicorn stage and - okay the beatbox is meh but the other four are amazing! And there’s a dragon DJ? Yes, I’ve been wanting more anthropomorphic dragon figures for ages! Where was all this awesomeness in the first wave? Side note; it amuses me that there’s a Bandmate whose head is a tiny version of the Vidiyo boxes. Maybe we’ll see that part reused in City or the next Modular or something for a Vidiyo fan kid?

Excellent! This is the sea temple, right? That means there’s still hope for Maya in the Hydro Bounty! And both amulets is a nice bonus too, I only expected the Sea amulet. Now what to do with all these duplicate amulets I seem likely to get . .

Agreed. I got Zane’s Titan Mech last week during the Easter sales. Brilliant build at a good price point, and Legacy 3 Zane looks great and I really hope they do more of the ninja in matching Deepstone/Skybound outfits. (Especially because if/when Legacy gets up to Day of the Departed, they’ll probably just cycle back to Legacy 1 since that was the original ‘Legacy-type’ wave. Also fingers crossed for cool Legacy Skybound stuff soon!)
