  1. This is stated nowhere in the corresponding rules thread. I could be mistaken, please quote me the relevant section. A stupid thing does not get less stupid only because "we have always done it like that". Politics have little to nothing to do with arts or culture. If the build would be depicting a great ball in the consulate, that would be different. As it is it depicts storage room for a variety of goods, a private room, and a butler - if anything, this is a residence.
  2. Aye, the build of the hastily repaired ship looks great. The port scene is also very nicely done! IC, as for Captain Bird: if he is looking for a new job, the WTC can offer him one! He should better bring that treasure chest with him though. OOC: If there are no further plans for his character in this story or any other, I would happily use him for the WTC. Any further discussion on this can be done by PM.
  3. An... unconventional design. And why is it "another free class 2"? The first one is free, not all of them. Did I miss something?
  4. I consider the TNT brick a Mesabi signature part (same as the palmtree). The office build is simple, but effective, I like it. The best part are the four new characters though, well done!
  5. But a class 3 would not be free for him.
  6. Nice one! I really like the build, especially because of all the stylistic cues to the classic Lego ships, well done. The monkey is brilliant! Another great thing is the background for every crew member - excellent idea!
  7. Yup, that ship is a beauty - sitting on my shelf across me as I type this - and one of my childhood memories too. I was lucky to get one in excellent condition and for a reasonable price last year. And you can use it ingame as "background material".
  8. While I still do not like the style, at least this is something with "building potential" - meaning it would provide some challenges in build techniques, while providing a coherent look on the outside and lots of room inside. But as somebody else already mentioned: I seriously doubt we will get yet another Modular in this style, and even if - not next year.
  9. Very nice! This is from the first movie, correct?
  10. So just to sum things up, there are - among other things - the following IC options to clean up this issue: Sinbad dreaming all of this Sinbad telling stories about how he "heroically" pranked the Corrington courts somebody else telling the story as provided in the bullet point above (think "urban myth") I fail to see the big issue here. As said above: are we not here to have fun?
  11. What a brilliant MOC, with just so many intricate details. Awesome! I love how many details there are, both on the exterior and the interior. And the overall architecture is just at the right spot between "realistic" and "batsh*t fantasy crazy" - of course this would never exist in the real world, but it still looks... kind of believable. Very well done!
  12. Oh god, please no. Those are some terrible designs, and I hope TLG agrees.
  13. Bonjour Alex, greetings from Germany! Looking forward to your builds. Do you plan to build some of your real work in Lego bricks?
  14. This must be the single best description of the Sea Rats character I have read so far. I somehow feel like I have chosen the wrong faction.
  15. You are aware of the irony here, are you?
  16. I know he has just left for work, so do not expect a reply from @Mesabi in the next hours, but I do not see a big issue with this. Count Mesabi is currently sailing south, so you would have to bring up a reasonable scenario to "catch" him, but at least from my side, the WTC would be willing to handle this issue peacefully. OOC: I have no strong emotions about this either way. Another trial? Fine. War with the Sea Rats? Fine. But keep in mind that both Mesabi and myself are pretty active builders. We would throw warships in your general direction like there is no tomorrow. Just sayin'. P.S.: I would really appreciate if some people - including some from my own faction - could be a bit less anal about the "rules". There is no such thing as "RP conventions" set in stone. There are guidelines people agree upon in a set gaming group - and they change from group to group, as well as over time. What some here describe as "forcing the actions of others" can just as easily be seen as "giving a variety of RP options to others" - with the second one being perfectly fine. The point of this game is to have fun - for everybody involved. If this gets under the bus, you are doing something wrong.
  17. The blue 32x32 baseplate! I guess there will be more of this one over the coming year, but I love that it is available again. Also: some City stuff, and the Creator Mythical Creatures. I returned the Creator set.
  18. Well, IC the lawyer uses massively flawed logic, there is a bribed jury... very Sea Ratsy for sure. If anything, this does not reflect on Corringtons jurisdiction at all, but only on a filthy criminal abusing it. OOC, it was a series of nice builds, which I enjoyed. One thing I want to say again: please present your storiey in bigger portions. It was really hard to follow, for every installment only moved the story forward a tiny little bit.
  19. Beautiful MOC, true to the style of the original, but something new indeed. Lovely! How many PR sets did you need, two or three?
  20. Absolutely incredible build! But for the thread title: "slightly" modified? I think ou do not know what that word means.
  21. Positively batsh*t crazy, amazing! Reminds me a lot of the "planes" of the early days, or their parodies (think of this). Brilliantly done! Where are the metallic (silver and gold) parts from that build most of the hull?
  22. I had the chance to look at the physical build in my Lego Store today, and I must say: the pictures do not do it justice. I was no fan of the whole thing so far, and it still is not among my favourite Modulars - but I do like it now. It is not high on my to-buy-list, but I will get it one day.
  23. Not that my opinion counts for anything, but how is a government building "arts & culture"? That is just nonsense. @KotZ: The build is brilliant, I love it. It looks imposing from the outside, but the true star is the interior - lots of lovely details, well done! I would suggest a different render software though, this one makes some parts look really weird.
  24. Sea Rats hellbent on war? The next WTCM is going to be interesting...
  25. I know exactly what you mean!
