  1. Would you mind the WTC setting up something near the harbour? All that alcohol business you have there... we would be excellent customers.
  2. Aye, a very characterful scene. Loving the choice of colours, and that microbuilt ship is lovely. Will we one days see its counterpart in the brick?
  3. Do it - the more the better! I really did not want to discourage you (or anybody else). Whatever you have in mind: please make it so!
  4. No index, but I would not fear "duplicates". Almost everything can be done in different ways, and even the same production method can be depicted in different ways. I think the better approach is to think about a) what you want to build, b) what you want to produce in that build, and c) how you can bring both together. Factories produce... whatever you want. The only difference to artisans is the scale and method of production: where artisans produce either slow or in small runs, and the work is done by hand, factories do mass-production. So factories can do anything: refining agricultural or other raw products (from what comes "right out of the field/plantation/mine/..." to whatever you want to make of it) transforming one or more raw materials into a product (ore into metal, trees to planks, ... ) transforming one or more refined products into something even more refined (one or more types of cloth and colours into sails/clothing/..., tools/weapons production, furniture, ... ) Another source for inspiration - at least for me - is games like the "Anno" series, in this case Anno 1602/1503/1404. Check out some production buildings on the following pages: all kinds of "workshops" (artisans or factories in BotBS) from "Anno 1602" page 1 of 7 of the player buildings in "Anno 1503", as well as the pirate NPC buildings all buildings for "Anno 1404" or only the production buildings TL/DR: do what you want, and do it the way you want.
  5. The WTC is no longer only the Count! That money will come out of my pockets.
  6. I forgot to mention: both the recipe as well as the offer on "The Last Page" are genuine. I would like to hear of your results with the gratin, and would love any new citizens in Mesabi Landing.
  7. The WTC is proud to announce the release of its newsletter: the "WTC Monthly". Without further ado (click for large readable version):
  8. A short question concerning mines: at what point/time after a prospecting build is the "result" given to the builder?
  9. Read the OP again, that seems to be Bregirs intention already.
  10. Wow, large indeed. My first thought was "HofbrΓ€uhaus", well done! Nice microbuild. I really like how you have incorporated the issues of such a big tavern into both the build and the backstory. Things like "we need storage room for everything" and "what do we do with all the room available?" - the typical problems of innkeepers. Is the establishment willing to host the WTC christmas party?
  11. Get in the way of a WTC Elite, and you will pay the price. That Sea Rat is lucky to still be alive! I like the build, and a "WTC sweatshop" is a great idea. I do wonder though: why did you not use the upper section of the MOC? The one with your signature palmtree and the crane construction. It feels like a missed opportunity to not show it as a part of the story.
  12. I am far from impartial on this matter, so do not see how I could be of use. But I will follow the whole affair with great interest! Maybe a reporter from a serious newspaper should be present?
  13. Agreed on both accounts. Agreed on both accounts.
  14. The WTC can not see any "justice" here, just unfair treatment of innocent citizens - and ruthless murder. But justice will be served... the WTC way.
  15. I m not so sure. This gunboat, as well as my Mk.II, are still significantly smaller than my Cranky Parrot, which is good fit for class 2. But all classes have grey areas, and in these cases we are in one.
  16. That is... big. A neat scene, very clean and realistic. It looks like the crane is working? By my count it is 64x80, so 5120 studs. Half the way to a royal property already.
  17. Nice build! I like the relative smoothness of the hull. The amount of minifigs is also very accurate for a gunboat of this size and age - the distinction between rowing crew, gun crew and commanding officers is well done. Thanks for the hull construction shot (and link to more of it) - very helpful! One big critique though: please reposition the rowing minifigs, because currently they are looking in the wrong direction! This has been corrected. Apart from that: excellent MOC. Long live the Queen!
  18. This is outrageous! The WTC will not let this stand!
  19. I have actually played around with both, but did not like the results. There will not be a Mk.III here, but I will take the lessons learned for future projects.
  20. While I will not contribute with any builds to this, I can still share what I have come up with. If any Corry is happy with the design found here, I have made a thread providing building instructions. I hope this is helpful.
  21. The point of this thread is to provide "building instructions" for the gunboat models found in this thread. I use the quotation marks, because all I can give you is a series of pictures showing the building steps with the parts used for the next step. If you are in any way familiar with Lego parts, you should have no problems to follow. If you have any questions: please just ask. Again, to be clear: each picture shows a step in the building process and all part needed for the next step. Step 1 (please note: you need two 2x2 plates, I could not get them seperated for the shot...) Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 And that is it. All the colours can be different of course, you can easily adapt this design to whatever colour scheme you want to use. If you want to use the oars in "rowing position", simply use different 1x1 plates, as seen below:
  22. No big story this time, just models and technicalities. I have taken the C&C from the WTC Red Fox and came up with a Mk.II design, which I am actually much happier with. The result is not one but two gunboats, still class 1, under nominal WTC control (licensed by me). @Mesabi you have every right to order these as needed, just keep in mind that they are only range 1. The WTC Brown Bear, with a crew of Marines and Volunteers: And the WTC Grey Wolf, of the same design, here without crew: Finally, both ships together, almost too much for my smaller lightbox:
  23. Very impressive. Could you post (many!) more pictures showing different scenes, details and angles in this MOC? The overview is already awesome, but some close-ups from different directions would be appreciated too!
  24. Lovel build, as usual. Is that a rat among the palmtrees? Bones by the wayside? A broken bottle on the road? Yeah, must be Mesabi Landing. One minor criticism though: it is not the WTCs fault that the inn does not work profitable. The "Blue Dragon" near the harbour does just fine - offering great drinks for even better prices! So typical off a pompous Corlander to blame somebody else for their own shortcomings... Great story, I am looking forward to the continuation!
  25. Nice little build! Who is it we are watching? I guess we will see some organisation thread for the FTA soon? Warehouses, headquarter? All found here. I am looking forward to what we will see from you. But keep in mind that there is already a trading company with a monopoly on bad behaviour - the WTC!
