It was, thank you for your relentless work for BotBS! Since the WTC has now become an officially chartered trade company, it needs an account. Whoever has the power to do so: please make it so, and thanks in advance.

Thanks. No, the WTC has not yet an account of its own, good point. -
Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II

A question concerning licenses: Each individual player can license up to three properties per month. The same applies to settlements, which can also each license three properties per month. Do chartered trade companies also get three licenses per month? -

[SR - MRCA Result] Fuerte Unido Grog Shop
Darnok replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A great build! Both the barrel workshop and the "speakeasy pub" are lovely detailed, and the irregular base adds another level of "being alive" to the scene. The varied vegetation is looking good too. All thumbs up! -
[COR WTC] More prospecting on Argentia
Darnok replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That does not really answer my question, other than the propabilities for each outcome being fixed. To rephrase my question: are the propabilities for all minerals equal for Argentia, or (as an example) is it "40% chance of coal, 40% chance of rock quarry, 20% chance for one of the others".I know you can not tell me the exact numbers, but I was asking for those, but for the gist of it. -
[COR WTC] More prospecting on Argentia
Darnok replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Ah, okay. I just did not expect a result so soon. Thanks! As a follow-up question, and this goes to @Bregir and @Legostone too: With a coal (already) and rock quarry (soon) mine established on Argentia, what are the odds of either a better outcome for prospecting (as in a higher yield:investment ratio) or a different result (so not coal or rock again)? -
[COR WTC] More prospecting on Argentia

Is that official? -
To answer the question in the threads title: never. As long as TLG is able to sell its products, there will be people living in some form of city. Given these conditions, the theme will never be obsolete.
-
I actually LOL'd, excellent writing! And quite a nice build on top of it, well done. I am sure the WTC will do everything it can to never technically violate the conditions set up here.

With his latest finding being coal, the formerly "Golden Jack" was now only called "Black Jack", much to his irritation. So one day, leaving the Blue Dragon after a day of drinking, he decided to correct this misconception - by finally finding the gold he knew was out there! He went east out of Mesabi Landing, into the dry wasteland that made up most of Argentia. His famous nose led Jack to a cave near the east coast: Leaving his backback behind, Jack started exploring the cave. Soon the daylight coming from the entrance became less and less... It was only when Jack ignited a torch he realised: his nose was once again right, he had found something shiny down here. But what was it?

Excellent MOD, I prefer this one to the original build. Did you use any additional parts, or is everything from one Diner set? The only suggestion I have is to add a smaller building right next to this one with an alleyway to the backside - right now the minifigs can not reach anything but the Diner itself.

First about the MOC: a clean build, the bricked windows are a nice detail, and both outside and inside look properly busy. The interior wants to look like a madmans research laboratory - and it does! About the story: I am definitely looking forward to where this goes. I do wonder though - it takes Mordo, Zanzibar and a WTC Elite to deliver a letter? Why? Especially when the Dr. is not affiliated with the WTC. To me that feels very odd. He does seem to share the WTCs obsession with explosives though. And I did spot a crate with the WTCs colours... interesting. P.S.: Where does the cape come from?

[COR-FB Feb] Coal transportation in Mesabi Landing
Darnok replied to Lord Buckethead's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
An excellent build, and eerily close to Ayrlegos style! The idea with the lavender is just brilliant, I love it. P.S.: Since about 150 years ago child labour was not at all an issue, especially in mining. In the BotBS setting it would be considered perfectly normal. -

[COR] HMS Intrepid - Class 3
Darnok replied to Flavius Gratian's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A very well crafted ship there, nice! The rigging done so far looks very good, please keep us updated once the sails are done. Lawliet seems to be a promising officer for the Royal Fleet, I hope he is up to a great future! -
Could you please rephrase all of this in complete sentences? I do not understand what you are trying to say.

It is early in the morning, when the heat of the days had not yet set in, as Mordo inspects the new Brick Factory near Mesabi Landing. While Argentia lacks the rich vegetation of most of the islands in the New World, it provides excellent clay, which the WTC makes good use of by producing high-quality bricks. Inside the factory building the production went smoothly: In the first step the clay is mixed with water to the desired consistency, as well as to remove any air enclosed (which could make the bricks burst during the later burning process). Then the refined clay is pressed into moulds and left to dry. Since the drying must not happen too fast - to minimise the risk of cracks in the bricks - here the moulds are places on small wagons and close to the building under roofs: Once the bricks are full dried, they are burned over constant fire - here we see a worker check the oven over the fireplace, were the next batch of bricks will soon be placed: Outside, the latestt production run of finished bricks is waiting to build up Mesabi Landing to magnificent glory! Or to be sold... Licensed as a medium factory for Mesabi Landing. P.S.: I only noticed now, after editing and posting the pictures, that one of the windows is missing its "glass"... D'Oh! That was not intentional!

@Phred I have made a mistake which I can hope you can fix. While licensing a small factory for Fuerte Unido I made a typo, mistakingly calling the settlement FuertO Unido. I hope you can correct this quickly, so the settlement can gain "Large Town" status before the MCRA deadline tonight. Thanks in advance!
-
In an effort to spread out its operations, the WTC has recently been in contact with representatives of Eslandola. As one result of these contacts, a rum distillery has been set up in Fuerte Unido - located on Isla de Victoria near Argentia. One local watches the small factory with a sceptical look on his face - the WTCs reputation is well known here too. Others are more open to the charme of the WTC Marines: Inside, one WTC Marine fills a barrel with the freshly distilled rum (a glass for tasting always in hand!) while another is a bit grumpy to give away all this tastyness - money is good and well, but you can not drink it! Some more views of the build under the spoiler: Last, and possibly least, the fireplace (no lightbrick this time, but a Green Goblin firebomb): Licensed as a small factory, bringing Fuerto Unido to "Large Town" status.
