  1. Here's a new one from this morning that's particularly exceptional... LEGO Ideas - The King's Castle Gatehouse by Jcreations912
  2. While I guess a Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers-inspired theme would feel to be more in the spirit of Action/Adventure rather than Space, I'd still technically consider it a Space theme, especially if its adventures take place among more than one planet. The thing is, would fans of traditional Space consider it such themselves, or would they just write it off as an Action/Adventure theme?
  3. I'll admit, between Series 2 and 12, neither one held any particularly interesting archetypes/designs for me; but, Series 12's Swashbuckler and Dino Tracker were somewhat cool, so I'll give it that I suppose.
  4. The Brick Fan - LEGO Ideas Queen: I Want to Break Free Achieves 10,000 Supporters
  5. Well, it's the Jungle Explorer for me, though it would've more easily been the Galactic Bounty Hunter if they hadn't screwed-up the final product in light of what the render had promised.
  6. Ah, I suppose that's a good point, as I guess the topic's particular to already existing themes and/or IPs under Lego's portfolio. Well, maybe I could suggest this topic instead?
  7. Well, for me, if a "Space" theme were to be exclusively relegated to just one extraterrestrial setting outside of Earth, it'd have to be an atmosphere-less one to be more clearly definable as such (i.e. the Moon or Mars). Otherwise, a Space theme that took more after "Planetary Romances" such as James Cameron's Avatar or Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter of Mars might be more easily classified as a fantasy-based Action/Adventure theme due to its singular terrestrial setting; so, if Nexo Knights were to have been an all-out Space theme, it'd have to be more like Star Wars and designate many of its adventures to multiple planets rather than just lumping all those locations onto a single rock.
  8. Same here, though their shared similarities would likely prevent both from being approved together in the same review. If anything, I'd hope one of the two will be moved to the following review for further consideration; but, if there was one that'd just have to be outright rejected, unfortunately it'd be best if it were the Dwarves' Cottage, as both Lego and Disney would likely pick-up on the success of that project and give us a similar such set anyway (likely a few years after the fact as one of their annual D2Cs). Plus, I'm pretty such most Castle fans here would gladly take an original set over one attached to an IP.
  9. Hmmmm, realistically, I'm guessing JKBrickworks' Pursuit of Flight and Namirob's Medieval Blacksmith are the two best contenders, as JK's submissions are always a perfect fit for the LEGO Ideas portfolio, while the Blacksmith's Shop would be of architectural interest to those who may have bought @Robenanne's Old Fishing Store (not to mention, it'd especially be of interest for Classic Castle fans). Admittedly though, my favorite project in this review is the Dwarves' Cottage; but, due to its close similarities to the Blacksmith's, it'd be better if the honor went to the more original, non-IP one of the two if they were to give Castle fans a little something.
  10. The Brick Fan - Ten Projects Qualify for LEGO Ideas Second 2019 Review Stage
  11. I'd flip that around, Speed Champions should be a subtheme of a revived Racers umbrella theme!
  12. I can definitely sympathize, as Olive Green or Earth Green expeditionary vehicles for instance can look a lot more adventurously rustic. If you think about it though, outside of City, Lego seems to reserve more "rustic" colors for vehicles to period-set adventure playthemes such as Pharaoh's Quest and Monster Fighters while brighter color schemes are designated to modern-set lines like Dino and Atlantis.
  13. Huh, good point, you could say Nexo Knights acted very much the same way many of Lego's Aquazone themes had previously done, offering Technicolor-canopied "spacecraft" builds in a non-Space setting. But, it'd still be cool to see a true "Space Knights" theme from Lego in the near future. Not to mention, if Nexo Knights truly had been such, I do think it wouldn't have received the contempt from Classic Castle fans that it did, as it would've been completely dismissed as just another Space theme rather than a skewering of Castle.
  14. That's the thing about the Racers theme when comparing it alongside Speed Champions: Racers could house both original and licensed automobile designs (much like Mattel's Hot Wheels), whereas the context Speed Champions has set itself up under limits it only to IP-specific automobiles.
  15. Might I perhaps suggest this topic instead...
  16. Well, this time, it's pretty much visa versa for me between those two.
  17. Heck yeah, AVIATRIX BABY!!! Heh, well I for one am not surprised, not surprised at all...
  18. Dare me? Heh, I'd gladly invest into a real fusion of the two, because you can't quite call Nexo Knights a Space theme if it ain't in Space!
  19. Like I'd said, sunken cities are REAL! For instance, off the coast of Alexandria, Egypt... All That Is Interesting - Amazing Sunken Cities Of The Ancient World: Cleopatra's Palace
  20. I don't see exactly why it couldn't happen, as sunken ruins of ancient civilizations aren't just merely limited to myths and legends such as Atlantis.
  21. If Lego were to cook-up some new action/adventure playthemes that fuses two or more concepts covered by previous action/adventure playthemes, here are a several ideas for such I'd like to see... Space Police + Agents = SPACE AGENTS!!! A Space Police IV with named protagonists working to foil a Blacktron/Ogel-esque shadow cabal Rock Raiders/Power Miners + Atlantis + Adventurers = An Action/Adventure theme that takes an expeditionary team into the earth in search of, not rock monsters once again, but the ruins of a fabled, subterranean Hyperborean civilization 1998's RES-Q Subtheme + Ultra Agents = A near-futuristic Action/Adventure theme focused upon a high-tech Search & Rescue organization heading missions to rescue civilians from cataclysmic natural disasters brought on by a severe geomagnetic storm and subsequent climate change
  22. Though it hasn't received the "official treatment" as of yet, in light of recent news regarding the suspicious premature shelving of @figura's project for LEGO Ideas, I decided to check out Disney's Gravity Falls TV show a couple nights ago. Similarly, I only checked out the first two seasons of Netflix's Stranger Things just last fall shortly before hearing of our first rumors of the D2C based upon such; so, likewise, I'm kinda wondering if the same could be happening for Gravity Falls very shortly from now, as there were rumors from last year of BrickHeadz based upon such that we could still have yet to see.
  23. I agree with both of those. Deep Sea would give me some Divers nostalgia there. I've likely expressed this here before, but as for where they should take the next Deep Sea Exploration theme, I'd really like it to revolve around submarine archaeology of sunken off-coast ruins, kinda as a more grounded nod to the Atlantis theme.
  24. Sure, it's simple, but right to the point.
  25. Well, as far as names go, I'm pretty keenly set on just SKY RACERS for such a standalone theme myself.
