  1. As a Space theme, sure, but I think it's too much of a stretch to ever expect something like that for the City theme. If you'd like to discuss your dreams for Space themes that lean more towards heavier science fiction, there's this topic:
  2. Absolutely! As I stated in the original post, anything related to trains in the context of this subforum pertaining to fan creations can be shared here!
  3. 928 Galaxy Explorer Tribute by Nate Falslev T-160 Thunderbird by JonHall18 Tinsmith by Space_cat27 His usage of chromed elements is what stands out to me the most. Thanks!
  4. The Blue Tornado by @dylanfarrow Steampunk Train by Moko Thomas and Percy (Island of Sodor Display) by Ryan Evans
  5. Precisely, and when you look at the types of sets seen in most recent exploration based subthemes, many of the vehicles, playsets, and situations portrayed in the Classic Space line would seem to fit quite nicely into the City theme as we know it now. Payload Rockets, Moon Rovers, Mobile Laboratories, Transport Shuttles, Lunar Bases with Greenhouses, Communication Stations... Also, considering that there have been four years between City's 2014 Arctic subtheme and the latest one coming this summer, Space just may be the next exploration subtheme in line for summer 2019, as it will also have been four years since City's last Space subtheme released back in 2015!
  6. I'm surprised that we haven't heard of any new casting announcements yet. Edit: Alright, just as I say that, here's our first piece of casting news! Screen Rant - The LEGO Movie 2 Adds Tiffany Haddish To Its Voice Cast
  7. Personally, I think a line of Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em like constraction builds would be cool, a theme focused less upon a storyline and more upon competition and mechanical ingenuity.
  8. Welcome to Eurobricks @fillishave! Tell me, what architectural examples and styles inspired the exterior design of this beauty?
  9. Exactly! Besides, such a line would be a total throwback to Classic Space sets of old, which look pretty tame in comparison to the many Space themes that came after it in terms of conflict. Nowadays, I think a spiritual revival of Classic Space would make itself at home quite nicely amongst City's other subthemes, and would be most welcomed by fans.
  10. SKYHOLM - The Flying City by Fedin Steinadler by captainsmog Steampunk Car and Steampunk Train by Moko That seems to be our overall impression doesn't it?
  11. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea NAUTILUS by OrionPax The Batcave, Micro-Scale by Pellaeon The Daily Brick by @fillishave * * An original creation, but seemingly inspired after DC Comics' The Daily Planet. Hey, I've never seen a Legend of Korra creation before, and it's of Republic City! Not bad! While I've never watched the TV show, I one time picked up a artwork book for it at the library awhile ago, since it had a lot of fascinating concept art of Republic City. I like how the city architecturally is a fusion of both 1920's American Art Deco and Oriental architecture.
  12. Wow, you really are that excited about that creation! I thought it was an editing error when you double posted it over on the Sci-Fi topic. But hey, it is undeniably awesome! Another beautiful selection you've gathered there!
  13. It won't be long now until someone starts the set discussion topic.
  14. Besides System, what about Technic, as in an constraction theme that utilizes typical Technic parts instead of a specialized system? Such a theme could still introduce new parts, but they have to be more easily compatible with both Technic and System, and it should more focus on mechanical complexities instead of mere static posablility.
  15. Someone in particular over on Instagram already has a copy of the set, with a good on-hands look at each of the figures, the Lightcycles, and the instructions.
  16. Over on Instagram, there are some good new looks (front, back, alternate expressions) at Jessica Cruz GL and Superman Lex Luthor's minifigures. Also, we have our first look at Tactical Batman and Superman's BrickHeadz from Justice League.
  17. Ah, well, that's certainly true. That part did work great for Supes' iconic 'S' curl.
  18. While I am anxious for this set, I think the possibilities for that excite me even more.
  19. I too would love to see the Friends theme touch upon Space in some way in the near future, and those are two pretty good ideas for getting there! Personally, I think the idea for a Space Tourism narrative could also work, an spaceline that'd be the brainchild of some Richard Branson/Elon Musk type tycoon. Spooky Friends? Cool!
  20. Obviously, it would lack rayguns, aliens, and conflict being a City subtheme. Also, while something like this could be done as a standalone theme, Star Wars just doesn't seem like it's going to make room for another theme set in space. As a subtheme under another preexisting line though, it'd be seemingly less hostile to Star Wars. Besides, there's been more of a renewed interest in both STEM and space exploration in general, so I think a out-of-orbit Space subtheme for City could sell well currently. Also, it doesn't have to go all the way out to Mars, why not simply next door to the Moon?
  21. I'm wondering if Chris's promotion of the sequel in relation to Ready Player One may mean there's a teaser trailer right around the corner. Back in late March 2016, we got our first teaser for The Lego Batman Movie attached to Batman v. Superman releasing around the same week. So, being a major tentpole film releasing around the same time of year, perhaps we'll see our first teaser for the sequel next week attached to Ready Player One? It'd be around the same distance of time TLBM had between its first teaser trailer and its theatrical release after all.
  22. Yes, thank you!
  23. Do you have a public Flickr page? I noticed all your pictures attached here are only Static Flickr images.
  24. One Gridcycle by @-zenn * Batmobile of the Future by Merc4Hire Thomas and Percy (Island of Sodor Display) by Ryan Evans * Technically an original creation, but still very much inspired after Tron Legacy's Lightcycle.
