  1. What a great figure to conclude this year's advent calendar! I just absolutely adore @Robert8's original design and his female counterpart, and your LDD iteration still retains much of that original charm! As this year's conclusion, the replacement of his sheet music tile with that of a calendar is most fitting, while his puristically-constructed bell looks pretty darn good! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too! Looking forward to next year's advent calendar!
  2. I've proposed this a few other times before elsewhere in the past, but I think Lego should try a more affordable Creator Expert L-Gauge locomotive based upon a smaller type of engine, such as a British Tank Engine or Shunter Diesel. Even better, how about making such a set a Three-In-One build, with the main construct being the locomotive/engine and its two alternate builds that of rolling stock? Plus, the set could exclude track, or it could just throw in two straight track for display purposes. You see, with a set like that, I believe it could be a win-win for both kids and AFOLs. Just think about it, such a set would likely come in at a price range of only $49.99 to $69.99, multiples could be easily bought for those wishing to buying extras for the alternate rolling stock builds, and the inclusion of only two straight tracks for display purposes means no excess curved tracks that would otherwise come in a track pack! Also, I believe many kids may find such a set appealing if they'd grown up with Thomas the Tank Engine, finding British Tank Engines the most endearing type of locomotive they grew up with and loved.
  3. Just saw this posted by @Hanso over in the Mindstorms subforum and wondered if any readers of this topic were aware of it yet:

  6. Many of us are just hanging on for news of any kind of new in-house action/adventure theme, be it smaller-scaled or all-out "big bang" scale. As I mentioned over on the Elves topic, new in-house themes of a smaller scale have been launched before in the middle of the year, so you might not have to wait until late into 2019 for news of a new line. AMEN to this, especially on the time period!
  7. No need really for such a set, as the Collectable Minifigure line already has you covered...
  8. No doubt one would've eventually thought of trick-or-treaters as possible future CMFs, whereas an endless parade of furries and walking edibles couldn't have been foreseen by anyone during the line's early years. If Lego were to introduce Barbie and/or GIJoe CMSs, yeah, I could see that reasoning applying; but for classic, archetypical toys?
  9. Alright, thanks! Yeah, I too would find the introduction of a "Big Bang" theme in particular unlikely during the summer; but, a smaller scaled action/adventure theme introduced then wouldn't be out of the question. Back in 2014, Ultra Agents was launched in May of that year, so that's something we could hope for!
  10. I've been pondering... ...understandably, Lego wouldn't wish launch any new Action/Adventure theme during the first half of 2019 alongside the release of The Lego Movie 2. But, what about for the second half of the year? The absence of the Elves and Nexo Knights themes has left an awfully big hole, and I hope they don't leave it empty for the remainder of the year (or worse yet, fill it in with a licensed line). Do you @Falconfan1414 perhaps know if there's anything new on the horizon as far as an all-new in-house playtheme for Summer 2019?
  11. So, what happened to this line?
  12. One thing 2019 is missing which was still with us in 2018 are the Nexo Knights and Elves playset themes, therefore leaving Lego with an even emptier basket of in-house lines than the previous year. I mean, remember how many in-house themes there were ten years ago?
  13. Besides trick-or-treaters, another equivalent subset of CMF archetypes I'd much rather see take the place of "costumed" archetypes are that of toys, such as the Clockwork Robot CMFs and the Character Encyclopedia exclusive Toy Soldier. Again, here's a few more designs from @Robert8 I'd instead wish to see in place of further future additions to the endless costume party:
  14. As a modular?! Do the authors have any Flickr pages that would showcase any of the builds featured in that book, or are they exclusive content?
  15. By the way, I meant to ask you this question earlier, but forgot to at time you shared your thoughts. Would these "costumed" archetypes have eventually found their way into your own CMF proposals if Lego had never done so for the official line, at least at the same rate of reoccurrence?
  16. Aw, that face is adorable!
  17. Yet I couldn't see Space sets within the City theme being traditional Bright Blue, hence why I figured Sand Blue could be a more modest shade that would convey the realism of the City theme while also acting as a nod to Classic Space. This was pretty much what my line of thinking was!
  18. Oooooh, which incarnation would you be speaking of? One from the comics or perhaps from Nolan's Batman Begins?
  19. Unless there's another upcoming subtheme of sets we haven't heard of yet, yeah, that is a most interesting observation... ...so perhaps that Lunar Space Station isn't just a mere anomaly amongst an otherwise typical Spaceport line.
  20. Well, it's sort of more of a sharp division between the boys' toys (a.k.a. Apocalypseburg & Dangervest) and the girls' toys (a.k.a. Systar System & Co.).
  21. Here's some speculative art from @just2good and @Ashnflash for Dimensions' rumored canceled wave: ...and here's a closer look at @Ashnflash's artwork:
  22. That may very well be; but, have you seen City's offerings in more recent years? Not only have they been taking it way outside of the "city limits" since 2014 starting with the Arctic subtheme, but many of these various subthemes have taken directions many consider to be edging close to Sci-Fi. So yes, this upcoming subtheme may be nothing more than what we've seen four years ago, but I don't think the possibility of a spiritual successor to Classic Space couldn't find a home under the wing of the City theme given the directions they've taken it already.
  23. And that's the thing. There's no better place for such a Space line currently than within the City theme, as a standalone Space theme without conflict might not work nowadays.
  24. It's sort of a hybrid of official space shuttle proposal concepts from NASA and Lego's Classic Space.
