LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Digger of Bricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hey, ya know what'd be too frigging cool? What if Lego hosted a contest for both fans and artists to submit their own original character designs to be potentially translated as one of sixteen minifigures in a themed series of such original fan designs?! -
By versatility, I'm also suggesting easier reusage by fans for their own creations, be they a part of or outside of the Ninjago fandom. Like I'd suggested, plain-old humanoid snake mummies would've been great for Adventurers/Pharaoh's Quest MOCs, but flaming heads add an extra work-around for such creations' narrative backstories.
-
Oops, I meant to say "much more sparingly" to connote their eventual lack of future versatility compared to the other humanoid snake head molds we already have. Any sort of "one-and-done" mold from Lego is a damn shame. Hate? I don't feel that strongly towards this mold, as I'm only lamenting the introduction of what I see to be a short-lived part (eventually). Only if they discuss the leaks without directly picturing them in that video, like we do here.

Purist Hipster Barista

Heh, I like both the inclusion of short sleeves and how Cole's headband and hair-tie share the same color as the barista apron. -

What's that mold supposed to be for? Something generic, or specific? -
Yet they utilize a new mold that will most likely be used much less sparingly throughout its lifespan than any of the more versatile humanoid serpent heads we already have. Plus, like I said, they really didn't need to be flaming, as generic Egyptian-esque Snake People mummies would've been awesome enough. The videos do not even merely discuss the leaks, but only picture them. So, linking the videos without embedding them is still considered "sharing of leaks".
-
P.S. Sharing of leaks here is strictly prohibited, as only discussion of them from elsewhere is allowed; so, I'd remove both of those YT links quickly if I were you.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
This is kind of unrelated, but I wonder how closely the new "Mars Mission" subtheme will resemble this recently submitted LEGO Ideas project: LEGO Ideas - Space Explorers are Back: MISSION to MARS by CaptainRed -
Oh my, it's Indiana Jones' worst nightmare... Joking aside, these guys really could've gone without the flames, as they would've provided some great Adventurers fodder if it weren't for that.

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm hoping to see a slightly better picture soon, as I'd like to reserve my final judgement for when we get a less-angled shot that shows her red-lensed prints together with the cowl more clearly. Besides that, the figure looks to strike a clean, simplistic balance. -
Next "Adventurers" Theme Ideas
Digger of Bricks replied to Commander Keller's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Alright then! So, here's another interesting question for everybody: Which broader Action/Adventure genre would you personally consider a hypothetical period-set underwater exploration playtheme inspired after Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea to be a part of? Adventurers, Underwater/Aquazone, or both? -
The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Well, perhaps a Green Classic Spaceman will at least make it into a potential Space Squad Pack 2.0 for the presumed Winter 2020 wave.- 991 replies

Honestly, that could very well be the case instead. -

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
Digger of Bricks replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I too have been hoping for "Art of" books for both The Lego Movie and its sequel, something I presumed would be a tradition for all installments in this franchise from TLBM onwards. Perhaps the bulk of concept art for the main movies are too sensitive, as in that most of it may be potentially utilized in future films, whereas that may not be the case so much for the spinoffs? -
I'd think of it this way: Lego still accepts and submits Modular Building projects on Ideas (as so they do with BrickHeadz projects strangely), so I'd guess they're ulteriorly using the Ideas platform as a way of gauging interest in various concepts for such preexisting lines, whether or not they achieve support.

Next "Adventurers" Theme Ideas
Digger of Bricks replied to Commander Keller's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Or even Dino? Both of those themes which came out that same year do fit into the "Adventurers" criteria somewhat (at least according to my own personal criteria), and are amusing in hindsight seeing what some others here hoped to see as a successor to Pharaoh's Quest: So, this got me thinking: Under what criteria do y'all consider a theme to be an "Adventurers" theme? -
The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I do wonder how much that project would conflict with City's own upcoming "Mars Mission" subtheme. Perhaps it'd be irrelevant and in the rear-view mirror by the time such a project were to potentially achieve support? P.S. I do dig that Orange Classic Spaceman the creator included in the project BTW.- 991 replies

By the way @Robert8, I know I've made an awful many number of suggestions in between your more recent series, but could you perhaps consider a Rocketeer-type CMF design for a future series? While I know such an archetype may seem too closely tied with the Rocketeer to be considered archetypical, the character does owe his roots to other "rocket-men" of film serials of the 1940's and 1950's, namely Commando Cody for notable instance. Plus, there are a great many directions you can take such a design without being too on-the-nose with the Rocketeer, just look at many of these original fan characters and designs! (Yes, many are indeed inspired after the Rocketeer, but they all try to aesthetically differ from the character to varying degrees) William Mai's Victoria F. Archer (Three images) Marvel Comics' The Aviatrix David Grant's RocketMan (Six suit designs, four helmet designs) Daryl Wong's Alternate History Aviator Cinemaware's Rocket Ranger Reloaded P.S. Just so you know, this is only a sampling!
