  1. Plus, the Mysterio helmet would be easier to just slip on compared to the way one has to assemble Sandy's two-part helmet around a minifigure's head. Indeed! Someone should get the general idea sometime time soon here.
  2. Yeah, while others have suggested that Sandy Cheeks' two-part helmet would be better suited for such a CMF (as so to accommodate a hairpiece), I think this Mysterio "fishbowl" is a better, smaller alternative for such if it were to be paired with a head similar to CMF/TS4's Buzz Lightyear's, depicting a "headsock" worn underneath the helmet.
  3. Heh, Astropunk Spacemen of the '50s and Raypunk Space-Heroes of the '30s versus Moon-Men and H.G Wells' Martians!
  4. According to the set description, it carries over a mechanical function from the '06 UCS set too! P.S. Personally, I think the Batmobile from 2015's Jokerland set generically emulated the "Burton-Mobile" much more than this set does.
  5. I know, I know, technically Sandy Cheeks' two-part helmet works better if one wants to accommodate a hairpiece, but at times one can find it to be cartoonishly oversized for their purposes. So, when a hairpiece isn't necessary, Mysterio's helmet can be best paired with a head similar to CMF/TS4's Buzz Lightyear's, as so to depict a '50s Bubble-Helmeted Spaceman wearing a "headsock" with their helmet.

  7. Plus, as mentioned here before, it's not only Batman's 80th anniversary this year, but the 30th anniversary of his cinematic debut with that film!
  8. Really? To be honest, this Batwing's much better than last year's. Plus, Gordon's squad car is pretty sweet for both DC and City fans alike! I kinda feel that the D2C will end-up being the Burton-Mobile, hence potentially including those two as the set's exclusive figures.
  9. Yeah, 342 pieces for US $29.99? That's pretty decent! Come on, it's a minifigure-scaled replica of the original UCS Batmobile! How cool is that!
  10. So, anyone here planning on reusing Mysterio's/Mr. Freeze's new fishbowl helmet for a '50s-style Spaceman?
  11. Actually, that it is a one-sided set so to speak really impresses me, as it's more akin to Lego sets from the olden days which were more like model kits rather than playsets. Lego really needs to go back to doing that more often, and I'm further impressed to see that happen nowadays with a licensed set! OK, I guess that one-sided format is the norm for Star Wars sets.
  12. EXACTLY!!! With no seeming distortion of the print underneath, that's all the more reason for a 1950's Retro Spaceman CMF! Come on Lego, DO IT!!!
  13. Indeed you are, and the lack of print distortion is just plain AWESOME. P.S. Notice how the Batmobile looks a minifigure-scaled tribute to the original 2006 UCS Batmobile?!
  14. Check out Mysterio's helmet on Mr. Freeze!
  15. Leaked? They're official!!! The Brothers Brick - LEGO reveals six new sets to celebrate 80 years of Batman, including classic vehicles, villains and Shazam! [News]
  16. Check out this lovely little project submitted just today! LEGO Ideas - Old City Life by LegoTrainsFreak Congratulations! Best of luck to you on your journey towards ten thousand supporters!
  17. I see you've resubmitted your Planetary Outpost project as Classic Space Outpost - 40th Anniversary Set, hence why you're asking?
  18. Huh, interesting. Perhaps all that Dark Bluish Grey is a new cloth element? Damn, I'm so desperate for real CMS 19 leaks that I'm over-analyzing yours!
  19. I don't think it automatically implies that the film is dead, only that it's on indefinite hold until it finds a director at least.
  20. To answer your rephrased question, damn, I really don't know. It's just that I value the LEGO System medium over any source material depicted by it pretty much 100% of the time, and such a preexisting live-action movie would only frustrate me that its artistic approach barely acknowledges the LEGO System visually. Okay, I mean, I guess I'd hypothetically love to see a live-action LEGO Adventurers movie, as the genre it embodies doesn't have that much cinematic representation nowadays; but still, I just couldn't bring myself to consider it a Lego movie. To me, Lego is defined by the System, not the playthemes that are built upon it.
  21. Most indeed! Brickset - Summer Set Summary!
  22. It was originally slated for May of this year, but as we approached that date, it seemed less likely the closer we got. As of the time of this post on the film's IMDb page, there is no longer any release date at all.
  23. Well, I'd be totally down for Hugh Jackman in the lead roll of a musical parody/tribute to pulp adventure serials of the 1930's; but, as far him portraying Johnny Thunder in a LEGO Adventurers movie, it would have to be as a voice roll in an animated TLM spinoff. P.S. By the way, should this topic rather be in the LEGO Media and Gaming subforum instead, like I had earlier suggested?
  24. As a real cinematic LEGO movie in the animated tradition we've seen so far, I'd like to see Hugh Jackman voice Johnny Thunder, as they're both Australian.
  25. So, in hindsight, how much do you guys want to bet that Mike was hinting at City's upcoming Mars Expedition subtheme for this summer?
