Just a few "covers" I've been listening to on repeat over the past week...

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Digger of Bricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
While I don't get too much into the lore and interconnectivity of so many of Lego's in-house themes, I am somewhat curious if this Vaughn Jackson character might tie into the Monster Fighters theme in some way, effectively bridging Hidden Side and Monster Fighters together. -
Very much like the tonal changes Lego gave the Treehouse project when refining it into the final product that we end-up getting, I am on one hand similarly disappointed like a few others here at how differently this differs from the original submission, but on the other still impressed by what Lego has done for the final product putting those original designs aside. But man, they sure didn't go above and beyond in the way they did here with the Treehouse, as I totally wasn't expecting to see a two-in-one redux of the Black Seas Barracuda from the final product!

The Brothers Brick - LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71027 Series 20 Celebrates the Theme’s 10th Anniversary [Review]

Wow, I wasn't expecting to see you cook-up a female counterpart to Series 20's "Super Warrior" this quickly... ...also, um, are you saying you're gonna be taking a break from these Series for some time??? Yep, totally digging those Clu/Rinzler vibes he's going with... ...if only Lego hadn't screwed-up their own attempt at that with Series 19's Bounty Hunter...

We already have a similarly existing topic that's much more well-established...

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Digger of Bricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Why yes indeed! I really do appreciate how his design isn't too overly embellished, and neither is it too plain... -
I don't know if that's a really good idea. Those themes need to be their own thing, and not dependent on Ninjago. Hidden Side still became it's own theme, despite being quite similar to the Ninjago Ghost Wave. I don't want Ninjago to become the only action adventure theme in existence while everything else that gets released is licensed. I would much rather have them dedicate new themes to their ideas ideas of dumping all their ideas into Ninjago. Well, like I suggested, Ninjago could at least be a launching point for new themes that they'd share a multiverse with, but don't need to lean or rely on its lore. I mean, imagine if themes like Chima and Nexo Knights were first previewed with a multiverse-themed Ninjago wave.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Digger of Bricks replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Huh, that's actually not a bad mold I must say, as it offers much in the way of repurposability and customization. I like that its eyes are comparably normal to a typical minifigure's, and that it can don headgear is a plus too. Say, maybe we could see it reused for some future CMFs inspired after The Three Little Pigs, much like @Robert8's designs? -
They could do that; but for me, I'd rather want them to take advantage of that plot device to introduce all-new worlds that can more easily break away from Ninjago to become playthemes of their own that aren't as dependant on Ninjago's lore.

Hidden Side Hopes/Wishlist
Digger of Bricks replied to Fifulin's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well, speaking of such, submarine exploration is returning as a subtheme to City this year, so perhaps the helmet could finally make a reappearance there instead of Hidden Side for a skeletal diver figure?- 40 replies

I suppose it could be like that; though unlike such, they needn't really be the same "flavor" as Ninjago, if you get what I mean.

Hidden Side Hopes/Wishlist
Digger of Bricks replied to Fifulin's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That'd be awesome, though I'd personally want to see the helmet recolored in Copper Metallic myself... ...the thing is though, Hidden Side already had an opportunity to do such with the antiquated-looking diver in 70431 The Lighthouse of Darkness, and yet they squandered it...- 40 replies

To take that a step further, Ninjago can become a launching point/proving ground for new themes/universes that can spin-off from Ninjago as separate playthemes of their own if reception to any of those settings is particularly positive. To do so, Ninjago could introduce a multiverse-centric story arc to act as a catalyst for such.

Nice!

I'm not really a die-hard Star Wars fan, and I've only watched a few random episodes of The Clone Wars TV show, but this is pretty cool to hear... Collider - ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 Adds Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano

Say @Robert8, should we expect a teaser for Series S this Wednesday, if not earlier?

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Digger of Bricks replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Looks like a new goblin figure has leaked that's purportedly from this upcoming D&D-inspired Ninjago wave. It's similar to Series 13's Goblin but with shorter legs and lilac-toned skin as opposed to Olive Green. -
Hidden Side Hopes/Wishlist
Digger of Bricks replied to Fifulin's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That'd be interesting, but I should mention that MIB types aren't always concerned with extraterrestrials, as in some cases they're more broadly interested in paranormal phenomenon overall.- 40 replies

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Digger of Bricks replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
If so, I almost wonder if the theme's titular protagonist is less simian like Series 19's Monkey King and more human like DragonBall Z's Goku, as others have pointed out elsewhere that DragonBall Z is also inspired after Journey to the West. -
Hidden Side Hopes/Wishlist
Digger of Bricks replied to Fifulin's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
You know, it'd be interesting if the theme's narrative introduced some sorta MIB-esque governmental organization to intervene, though they'd be more like "grey zone" antagonists that have no idea what they're really up against...- 40 replies

When Should Ninjago End?
Digger of Bricks replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'd imagine Universal would want to kick-off their own "LCU" with a more broadly-encompassing movie in the vein of 2014's The LEGO Movie; and by the time they've developed, produced, and released that first movie, Ninjago will have likely wound-down by then, right? -
