  1. It's not a "real" animal, but the upcoming second Harry Potter CMS looks to have a new Phoenix mold...
  2. If real, that tattooed torso design looks pretty awesome, and "Redbeard" there is total throwback!
  3. So I see we already have a high-res image of the blind bag??? PromoBricks - LEGO Harry Potter 71028 Minifigures Series 2: First Picture
  4. So, could we end-up not seeing a third CMS this year? EDIT: Oops, just saw @THELEGOBATMAN's comment above...
  5. If not further... ...makes me wonder if we could see only two CMS this year if Series 20 were to be potentially pushed as far back as August/September. Not sure if anyone's noted this before, but could the Drone Piloting Kid's torso design be a nod to the Time Cruiser theme's Timmy?
  6. Well, as Wikipedia puts it... So yeah, by its loosest definition, Steampunk can merely refer to artistic styles and fashions inspired after the literary genre's Victorian Era technologies and stylistic sensibilities; but, what I had in mind wouldn't quite fall under that umbrella, as the anachronistic inspirations would likely be too subtle for it to be thought of as even Steampunkish. Looking around, I did find this one guy on ArtStation who's conceptual artwork for "Space Pirates" comes sorta close to what I somewhat had in mind... ArtStation - Space Pirates by Kenneth Solis
  7. Given how successful Minecraft has been for Lego just following the tried-and-true minifigure playset format like nearly every other playtheme, what's so different about the Mario IP that compelled Lego to try something experimental instead?
  8. Same here for sure, though as I expressed earlier, I don't really think it'd be that bad if a proper Space Pirates theme had a little bit of an Eighteenth Century stylistic flare about its overall aesthetic while maintaining a futuristic technological context.
  9. Several days ago, LAN sadly announced that a meet-and-greet with set designers @Nabii, @marcosbessa, and Justin Ramsden had been postponed to 2021 due to the outbreak, and now they've closed the LEGO House... The Brick Fan - LEGO House From AFOL to LEGO Designer Event Postponed Until 2021 The Brick Fan - LEGO House Closed Due to Coronavirus I guess it's safe to say that they'll also not be hosting the annual LEGO Fan Media Days event at all this year either...
  10. I don't know, if the theme is as big as they say it is, then it could've been in the works for a couple years already, perhaps ready to go at this point and in the wings waiting for 2021 as so not to divert attention away from Monkey Kid's debut.
  11. Regarding the Monkey Kid's numbering, apparently @StoneWarsDE had this to say... StoneWars - LEGO Super Mario Will be Released in August 2020: Sets Listed on Amazon & Number of Parts Known!
  12. It just seems too big for a debuting licensed theme though, and more what you'd expect from the launch of an in-house "big bang" theme...
  13. My hunch currently is that Super Mario was originally slated for 2021, but was pushed-up to fill the void left by a possible delaying of the in-house "Monkey Kid" theme perhaps due to the ongoing 2019-nCoV outbreak, hence why @StoneWarsDE is claiming that "Leaf" will end-up being the Super Mario theme instead.
  14. So, has anyone here taken a stroll over to the Future CMS Rumors topic recently? Apparently @Itaria No Shintaku had this to share... That ain't quite true, as they are getting the licenses, I heard.
  15. I'd applaud this news given that a partnership with Nintendo has better long-term potential compared to other recent licensing deals, but given the way 2020 has been so far, my initial reaction to this announcement was unfortunately one of annoyance similar to @ARC2149Nova's and @Lego David's...
  16. Going out on somewhat of a limb here, but if @StoneWarsDE's correct on this, could the Super Mario theme have originally been slated for 2021, trading launch dates with "Monkey Kid" in light of the ongoing 2019-nCoV outbreak, thereby pushing-up Super Mario's launch and pushing-back Monkey Kid's?
  17. Well, if there's gonna be such insistence to have a Marvel CMS, then an MCU-themed one would be a little more worthwhile, as there are many characters and character variants whose in-film contexts might be harder to translate into a sellable playset. Comic-based variants, on the other hand, are just too easy to shoehorn into a contrived playset, hence why the DC Series felt mostly pointless to me.
  18. Well, in that case, I don't think it'd be wise to release multiple People Packs each based upon consecutive decades all in one wave, as they'd instead successively follow-up the themed Pack from the previous year with one themed after the following decade (i.e. the 1920's one year, the 1930's for the next, and so forth)...
  19. Well, Marvel was a best seller last year, so a Marvel CMF wave wouldn't be surprising I'd really hope not, as the DC Series was pointlessly redundant enough already, but if it's Itaria saying so...
  20. Congratulations to @toastergrl on having her Sonic Mania: Green Hill Zone project finally achieve support!!!
  21. Hmmm, I don't know for sure. As far as I know, the "evergreen theme" term wasn't used at the time Bionicle G1 was around. Perhaps Lego may've not used/adopted the term around then, but I would think a classification for such themes would've been been acknowledged at least, maybe identified as "core" themes instead? I'd imagine it'll always exist in name only at the very least, as Ninjago has shown itself to be much more loose and flexible as an in-house "Power Rangers" theme versus Bionicle with a more rigid narrative structure.
  22. That would be @Bricked1980 you're thinking of... ...congratulations to him on his first-ever project to achieve support!!!
  23. Perhaps supplementary People Packs to accompany such Creator sets could be sold under the Xtra line? P.S. I'll take ten of those Three-In-One Pulp Rocketship sets now thank you very much...
  24. Something a little closer to City I'd like to see for People Packs would be some representation for recent decades past. It'd be incredible if City released packs made up of average urban citizens straight outta the 1920's, 1930's, 1940's, 1950's, and so forth, as the Collectable Minifigure theme's focus on occupational archetypes limits it from giving us those everyday folk that aren't necessarily defined by their occupation.
