Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Eaglefan344 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Probably the worst modular since Market Street -
Seeing it next to Detective's Office really puts it in perspective. I want to get double VIP points on it but I'm not convinced it'll be available in July, and it's not even guaranteed that they'll have double VIP in July again.
-
What are everyone's thoughts on the probable availability of this set? Think it will be like the Millennium Falcon UCS that sells out the same day and is only available on and off for months?
-
I don't like how the scale of these buildings isn't in line with the modulars. I don't think they go well together unless you modify them. I probably won't pick this up. I wish they would have released the stuff separately since the bus is definitely something I'd be interested in.
-
Is there any formula for their sales at all? I'm wanting to pick up 60141 Police Station but it hasn't been on sale since December. Before that it was pretty much always on sale.
-
Really hope they do double vip points in July like they did last year. That'll make the pain of spending $405 after power functions a little more bearable.

I don't post a lot and sorry if this is in the wrong place. After the roller coaster was unveiled I decided I want to purchase the existing fairgrounds sets along with the Disney Castle. I do not have any interest in the mixer as it's secondary price and I don't have room for it. My question is which order should I buy the sets in. Seems like the modulars retire in the fall of the 4th year and I have pet shop (bought secondary), palace and Parisian already. Town hall was the one that retired randomly so I am wondering if assembly will go the same route due to the higher price. Here is what I'm thinking: 1. Ferris Wheel 2. Disney Castle. 3. Assembly Square 4. Detective Office 5. Brick Bank 6. Carousel 7. Roller Coaster 8. Downtown Diner Thoughts?

I don't see the individual Boost parts listed either. I wonder if you have to have the Boost set or if they will release the individual sensors.
-
I feel the exact same way. I don't feel like the mixer fits in with the others at all since it's a temporary ride. I didn't buy it and have no plans to.
-
I wasn't planning on getting any of the fairground sets then I saw this so now I need the Ferris Wheel & the Carousel. Ferris wheel has been out for 3 years and will probably retire this year so I would guess the Carousel should be around til 2020. Any idea what the first pull pin does? The second one obviously does the transfer track as shown in the vid.

He meant for that model of roller coaster. I've been on a number of those and have never seen one with a train.

I didn't have plans to pick up any of the fairground sets but this looks like a must have. Hopefully the ferris wheel stays around for a few more months.

Where?

I am surprised the hospital color scheme does not match that of the ambulance helicopter that was just released. Wasn't planning on picking up that one anyways since I already have a ton of helicopters.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Palace Cinema is still available on Amazon. -
I'm sure it will. Unfortunate since curved track is more useless than flex track to me.
-
I would hope they wouldn't require a phone to use a kid's toy though....
-
Amazing stuff. I would love a modular brewery but know that will never happen.
-
Yep business-wise it makes a lot of sense for sure. I just don't like the fact that I'll have one 6 long train and two 3 long trains. Hopefully the new power functions will make it easy to pair 2 motors.
-
I do not like the fact that the train has 2 carriages as it forces people to buy 2 to have a full train. That is the main reason I haven't paid aftermarket prices for Horizon Express. Was there any other rumors regarding a train station? They have released one with every passenger train since I can remember so it seems odd that we wouldn't be getting one in 2018.
-
If you do a google image search of "lego 60198" some high res images pop up...
-
If the bluetooth rumors are true, that might mean an easier way to control a double train with 2 motors, e.g. horizon express. Makes sense too if the new passenger train doesn't have 2 loco's.
-
Can you confirm the passenger train only has one locomotive?
-
How does everyone feel about this? I'm not sure I want to have to buy 2 of them...
-
Bluetooth would be great considering I am going to max out on the 8 limit for the existing PF pretty soon...
