    Thank you for your comment! I agree with your opinion on games and movies, such as the one's you cited, renewing interest in space exploration. And yes, I to dislike the over saturation of cops and robbers for city. But C&R for space? I think its great! And as for municipality services? I'm a sucker for garbage trucks! LMF

    I want to thank all who have replied to my thread. What started out as a lamentation\rant thread just for fun has sort of turned into a host of people agreeing on my idea for a creator based classic space set(s)! Its been really great finding out that other people have had the same idea as I've had all along! Maybe I should turn this thread into s poll? What do you think? Yes or no for a creator based classic space theme set(s). And thank you again. LMF

    Yes, it would be perfect IMO. And also, I think its the right demographic of buyers. Kids (and adults) who buy creator sets would be in the market for something like this. You probably couldn't do it as a BBT. Kids who buy that stuff want more POW! and WAM!, and some lame TV show to go with it . So I really do think creator Is the way to go. LMF

    This is all so true! I understand Lego is still working on it but when I read wheat, I'm thinking "uhhhhh... Your going to use a lot oil to grow and harvest wheat!" And then there's the process of turning it into a plastic like material. And then you have the chemicals they spray on for "protection". And IMO, those chemicals are way more dangerous then your average carbon monoxide and what not. Now don't get me wrong! I am totally on board with what Lego is doing, and am also a little irritated that Lego had to take it upon them selves to solve this problem instead of our governments or whoever doing the job, but this is not the way to go. Wheat? C'mon! I'm very disappointed. Just my thoughts. LMF

    Huh? Not sure why everyone thinks your creation is "weird". Personally? I think it's awesome! The angles you've achieved on the "tail" and "head" are great! And the body suit design for the life on mars figure's head looks very posable for its compact size. Tell me, is the "head" a three turret cannon, or are they camera eyes? Thumbs up LMF

    Hmmm? Not bad! I have often thought of the concept of a "future city theme". Where you would have your everyday things that you do given a futuristic spin. Cars would fly, owning and using a personal space ship would be the same as owning and operating a personal plane, if not easier. Commercial space travel to another planet to see grandma and grandpa would be as simple as 123! And it would turn out that black holes make great garbage dumps! And yes since cops and robbers is such a fun and important part of city, it would most certainly be included. With a spacey twist of course! Oh, and I really like your idea for a space zoo! That would be cool! Thank you for your wonderful and super groovy ideas! LMF

    This is so impressive!!! Small models like these are hard to accomplish. But when done right, like you have, it makes for a very detailed, awesome, and exact looking model when compared to the real thing! Two thumbs up. LMF

    All those themes you suggested are not really big bang themes. Yes, they are original concepts that are not based on some license, but big bang themes are a semi recent concept which will have a TV show, plenty of kids books, probably a video game, marketed much more heavy then your average theme, and run an obligatory three years. And if it does better, then Lego will definitely continue the theme past its three year run. If not, then they'll retire it. And neko knights has all the qualifications for being a real BBT. So for them cut it short two years, assuming their going to do that, suggests that it didn't do well. Just my thoughts. LMF

    Big bang themes seem to last an obligatory three years. So if they only go for say two years, then they must not be doing very well. And its not like they don't cut them short, look at bionicle. That lasted for only to years. And it was very clear that it didn't do to well. Just my thoughts. LMF

    Spot on! Couldn't agree more. Of course your average set probably contains the makings for a bad guy & good guy build, but this wouldn't be the case if it was a creator set as you and I have suggested. All the the more classic IMO. LMF

    Hmmmm. Two semi failed big bang themes in a row. I'm not saying they didn't do to well, but they weren't ninjago that's for sure! So it makes me wonder if Lego might take a brake on BBT's. Personally? That would be great!!! Then they could spend some quality time working on things like classic castle & pirates. Just my opinion. LMF

    Agreed! Castle needs miners, dwarfs, vikings, villagers, etc. Something neko knights never had. And while I'm on the subject of neko knights, I might add that it did have great parts for space moc's. But I still felt sorry for all the castle fans that may have been expecting something classic castle. And IMO castle fans are some of the most talented builders around. The amount of detail put into such small areas that then in turn spreads out into an entire kingdom just blows me away! Along with pirate moc's as well. Heh, there's another classic theme that's been forgotten for licensed themes like pirates of the caribbean. LMF

    Wow! These look very good! That's one of the best ways to build when it comes to a functioning model, is to have a (or more) specially designed base which you then build your model off of. I see you did the three wheeled base in blue. Makes me think Thomas the tank engine.
