  1. Thank you! Thank you very much!
  2. You know that windshield never was my favorite, but it looks really good in this model. And the translucent light blue works great with the black and pink color scheme.
  3. Well I guess its not to bad, but I find that Lego bricks do dent if they fall the right way, particularly on the corners. But if it ever happened to me at a show, all the kids would be probably be screaming "Whoa! Cooool!!!". While I'd be screaming in my head (or out loud) "Dang flabbit George Clooney!"
  4. Wow! That's amazing! The possibilities the nexogon offers is incredible! Two thumbs up.
  5. Your comment has made me revisit Lego space MOC's on flickr, and I understand what your saying. Clear and black translucent windshields are simply a shape that conforms with the rest of the ship your designing. But ad a colored windshield to the model, and it does throw things off. Even if the model's color conforms with the windshield's color. But of course this all depends on personal preference. If anything, maybe it just takes more talent to design a model which has a colored windshield and have it all come out looking spiffy instead of tacky. One such model l found that accomplished this feat nicely was by Adam on flickr. Reminds me of the movie Oblivion. The orange windshield and very slight orange accents work very well for this model and it would lose a lot of it's flair without it. Now let's look at a model without a colored canopy. I chose this yellow model as an example because (1) This model is awesome! (2) Yellow is my least favorite color. Both those points are really important when you put them together. Yellow being a very flashy and dorky color doesn't matter in this case because it actually works very well with the feeling of the model. Tough, strong, bossy, and mad. Making it look like a pissed off bumblebee. But throw in a colored windshield? Its going to look like this. Oh! Its so pretty!!! You get the idea. So in conclusion, colored windshields don't work everywhere, but when you get it right it will look awesome! But if your model isn't intended to be colorful, be it figuratively, literally, or both, best to go without. But if your thinking "this is my dang model and I'll use a dang colored windshield if I dang well please!", then go right ahead! You have my thumbs up.
  6. Well we have gotten it in green before. But yea, it is unfortunate.
  7. Welcome! And that is a amazing vignette you've made!!! Thumbs up.
  8. Welcome! Glad to here about your break free from your dark ages.
  9. Good find! Lots of people on here really dig those dual molded parts. We can see her on the right in this pic.
  10. On the cover? Yes. Its not a bad build actually. Some nice SNOT techniques for the cockpit compared to this one.
  11. that is awesome!!! All the little wing pieces as paneling near the thrusters is great. And the way you put the cockpit at an angle? Two thumbs up!
  12. Yay!!!! A Lego Kurt Russell minifig!!! Is this a first assuming they make him?
  13. Hmm? You know you could almost by the whole book instead of just bricklinking the minifig. Looks like a cool little build actually, and you might get some decent parts as well.
  14. You know it is sort of surprising considering that Pete Reid's mech not only passed 10,000, but was excepted and turned into a ideas project. Surprising in the sense that it and not something more classic such as a spaceship or a moon buggy got up to 10,000.
  15. Well whatever it's going to be, it should be...https://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=9cQgQIMlwWw
  16. Oh, I remember that one! The thrusters were a pretty cool design!
  17. Probably. Heh, DC is sure taking after Marvel with the joke's.
  18. Cool! I'll have to look around for it sometime.
  19. Winner winner, chicken dinner! Your right! You know there had been a couple really good GE on ideas a while back and unfortunately they didn't pass, but with the popularity of Benny's SSS! (I don't like spelling out "spaceship!, spaceship!, spaceship! Oh wait... I just did.) you'd think Lego would high tail it and make another! But with the LM2 coming out soon, we shall see what's in store. Ah, I see! Well Lego Indiana Jones is the way to go for your profile pic then!
  20. Thank you for your very insightful comment! And I totally agree with you! As I was just saying in my previous comment and as you have pointed out, Lego should take advantage of existing themes and install parts into them that can be used elsewhere. Oh, and welcome to eurobricks!!! I really "dig" your username! Heh heh! Get it? Your name is digger of bricks, and I sad I "digged" it! Heh! ......Get it?...... Guys?......
  21. Something I have often lamented was that Lego didn't do more to add parts into non space/castle/classic themed sets. Parts which would aid in fans being able to make their own creations based on other themes. Now fortunately we have had recently some very nice yellow windshields from the LBM, orange from nexo knights, and a couple of red one's else where. But what of other translucent colors such as neon green, dark green, blue, light blue, and magenta pink? That was one of the things fans complained about galaxy squad. Plain old clear translucent? Boring!!! Other such parts include stickered or printed parts and of course, minifigures. But besides that, there is plenty to work with on all the other part categories. So I guess what I'm saying is that IMO, we don't need a classic space theme, we just want one for reasons that we wish it would become popular again like when we were kids. ("I" being extracted from "we" because "I" didn't grow up with these themes, but I understand the sentimental values these themes hold for some.) So why can't Lego do a "heritage line" or something equivalent for all the fans who grew up with these sets and themes?
