Party Lines Mafia - Day One: Lame Ducks
MagPiesRUs replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Wait, why do you seem to be regretting not voting for someone else now? Why would you ever pull yourself out of the running when other people vote for you if you were a loyal representative and thus knew you'd make a good speaker? -

To clarify, I had seen her reading the thread and was waiting to hear what she had to say for just under an hour. I realise that some people may be multitasking, but I feel it is worth pointing out because it's possible she was using this time to seek advice from other scum and plan out a defense. -

I've been waiting for a while to hear some sort of defense from Carol, but it seems she's gone missing now. To add some more pressure, I will Vote: Calanon (Carol Nottingham) -

I'm not sure voting for yourself this late in the proceedings will help much either. To any non-voters, I would suggest picking someone who has already been nominated if you want your vote to count. -

You and I have been legislating for many a year, and we both know that at this point, you are expected to apply for these sorts of leadership positions. For that reason, your application tells me very little about your allegiance. Certainly less than anyone else's. Now, I'm not going to say that I'm the man for the job, but I will say that I am a man for the job. I have no way of proving that I'm a Loyal Representative at this point, but I can tell you now that I definitely am one. -

Wait, we're only impeaching these bastards? What ever happened to good old fashioned executions? Those were the days. Remember the great legislature lynchings of '58? We lost alot of great representatives that year. Ah, good times. Anyway, as the oldest and longest serving among you, I feel it is my responsibility to take on the role of Speaker. I am well qualified for this position. As I'm sure you're all aware, I am usually capable of speaking. That one Friday night and last year's Christmas function don't count. Speaking of which, how are those drinks coming along, Justice Montgomery? Speaker: TinyPiesRUs (Peter Rutherford) -

Yay, a mafia! 1. What is your mafia experience here on EB? How about other sites? I've played some mafia before. 2. What do you think of your performance in EB Mafia so far? What are your strengths and weakness? What do you want to improve? I tend to take a while for me to get warmed up and sometimes find myself stuck in the background for the first few days. I hope that a greater focus on PMing could help with this. 3. If you just graduated from Mafia School - have you read any other mafia games on EB? If so, what have you learned from them? N/A 4. Will you be able to post every game day? More importantly, will you be able to truly participate in the game (as opposed to showing up to post once and clocking out)? If not, reconsider your application. Yes. 5. Finally, the fun question. What is your favorite LEGO theme? Castle/Lord of the Rings -

"Misery me! I have heard songs of many battles, and I have always understood that defeat may be glorious. It seems very uncomfortable, not to say distressing. I wish I was well out of it." - Bilbo Baggins, The Clouds Burst Bilbo puts his ring on to avoid the fray. He can only look on as shadowy figures clash all around him and chaos unfolds... Enjoy! The full album is available here. Any comments or criticisms are much appreciated.

In Gondor the King Elessar now ruled, and in Arnor also. In the lands of those realms of old he was king, save in Rohan only; for he renewed to Eomer the gift of Cirion, and Eomer took again the Oath of Eorl. Often he fulfilled it. For though Sauron has passed, the hatreds and evils that he bred had not died, and the King of the West had many enemies to subdue before the White Tree could grow in peace. And wherever King Elessar went with war King Eomer went with him; and beyond the Sea of Rhun and on the far fields of the South the thunder of the cavalry of the Mark was heard, and the White Horse upon Green flew in many winds until Eomer grew old. - Return of the King, Appendix A (The House of Eorl) Years after the defeat of Sauron, the forces of Gondor and Rohan march together again in an attempt to subdue the fearsome Haradrim. After a protracted siege at Karna, the Southron leadership ride out to negotiate with the kings Aragorn and Eomer. A Southron hornblower heralds the arrival of the Harad ambassadors. The gates are opened Several Haradrim chieftains ride forth to discuss terms with their besiegers. The Men of the West are willing to hear the Southrons out. In the background, reminders of the long and grueling siege linger - here, a howdah that once belonged to a mumakil burns outside the city. Enjoy! More pictures can be found here. Comments and criticism are much appreciated.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
MagPiesRUs replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Toyworld has got a 15-50% off sale that goes until tomorrow. 20% off City and Ninjago, but what's most interesting is that Castle is 50% off. I've held off on buying any of the new Castle sets, but they look pretty tempting at that price. -
The biggest disappointment for me is the smallest set. Only two figures? I was hoping for a nice army builder like the Castle Forest Ambush, which had four figures for the same price. At the moment, it doesn't look like there'll be a cheap way to amass the new bluecoats. I quite like the Soldier's Outpost set though, the dark red brick pieces are a cool update on the classic fort aesthetic and the raft looks nice enough. Plus it includes what appears to be a drunken octopus. The teaser image TLC released earlier in the year featured white and red sails, and looking at the bowsprit, it looks like the same ship as the prelim. So unless that was also preliminary, it looks like we'll be getting the same colour scheme.

CMF Mafia 2 - Conclusion - Case Closed Redux
MagPiesRUs replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks for hosting TrumpetKing, it was a lot of fun! Oddly enough, DarthPotato revealing himself on Day One seems to have been the best thing that could have happened for the town. If he hadn't, it would've taken decidedly longer for everyone to give out their alter egos and for a town block to form. I can imagine things would have been very different if the scum hadn't been forced to make up alter egos. It's always fun to play as a vigilante. The last couple of games I've had a strong gut feeling about a couple of people, and really wished I was the vig then. But this time around, I was pretty clueless for the first couple of days. Fortunately, after that point it was just a matter of going after the claims that didn't check out. I guess I played a little too under the radar this game, but fortunately I managed to get in contact with DarthPotato and Hinckley before I started getting called out. I usually am quieter in the first few days while I get my bearings, but in this game I was especially reluctant to get involved because I was worried about my night kill getting linked to what I had been saying. I guess there was a bit of laziness in there too, since I knew I could pull out the vigilante trump card if things ever got too bad. It's sort of liberating being the vig and knowing that when you're a suspect, you'll be able to defend yourself and won't be killed at night.- 21 replies

CMF Mafia 2 - Day 5 - Film-y
MagPiesRUs replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I would've been inclined to vote for Carl today, but if he has a believable alter ego, it sounds like Pamela is our best candidate. Vote: Pamela Fettucini (Peanuts) The ninja sounds fine to me. As others have said, it seems like too risky a move for the scum to make two conflicting claims, especially so early in the game. Sacrificing one scum just to kinda-sorta clear another seems like a bad idea. *honk honk*- 33 replies

CMF Mafia - Day 3 - The Mermaid's Song
MagPiesRUs replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I can sort of understand why a tracker wouldn't want to target Derek, but Sally's inconsistencies regarding her tracking of Giovanni seem inexcusable. Vote: Sally Carrotine (Scubacarrot) Does anyone else find it interesting that over the past few days, Giovanni has been defending Sally and Lacey? And this combined with the fact that Sally has apparently cleared Giovanni of having a night action. What's the likelihood that the scum really do have a tracker? That seems to be the only way that Sally's lie would be sustainable in the long run, unless she just kept targeting other members of the council. -

Well, I'm not sure what you expect me to say. I've explained why I didn't vote for Kingsley and Bleeb. I disagree that I have been summarising. You've told me to share my suspicions, and now that I have, I'm deflecting the blame? Are there any questions you'd still like me to answer? -
CMF Mafia - Day 3 - The Mermaid's Song
MagPiesRUs replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yes, I'm aware that you did send him a PM eventually. Derek confirmed that for us yesterday. My problem is that it took so long for you to do so after saying that you'd be willing to trust Derek with your alter ego. I suppose it's believable that you were waiting for a town consensus on the decision, but if you trusted him, I don't see why you wouldn't send it to him anyway. But anyone can PM someone else and say that they investigated them as town. That doesn't prove that somebody's a cop. A member of the council could do that just as easily as an actual investigator. Clearly Derek was the investigator, my problem with your story is that the investigation against Kelly in no way proved that Derek was the cop. It shouldn't have changed your mind about Derek. My thinking is that perhaps you used this as an excuse to explain why you now believed Derek - since you had gone after him the previous day and had already rejected the other reasons that Derek might be telling the truth. -

What? What does that mean? How can you make a summary look like a new point? Either it's something that's already been said or it's not. Can you provide an example of this? Yes, you did tell me your alter ego, and I've kept it in mind. I'm not sure what else you were expecting me to say. I have no guarantee that you're a townie, so I'm not going to share my own information with you. This a gut feeling, but my strongest suspect at the moment would be Carl. Mainly because he has been so middle of the road and hasn't offered up anything new. Also, he failed to send his alter ego to Derek, despite claiming to trust Derek and saying that the plan to send alter egos to him was a good idea: (By the way, I'm not sure why the fact that Kelly claimed to be investigated confirmed to Carl that Derek was an investigator. Even if Derek was scum, of course he would claim to clear someone) But almost 24 hours later, he still hasn't sent anything to Derek: (In addition, I find it interesting how quickly Clarissa, Jeffrey and Giovanni send Derek their alter egos once they're called out publicly. It doesn't look like they had any problems giving them up, but why didn't they do it sooner if they trusted him?) Then there's the fact that Lacey was lightly prodding Carl yesterday: This kind of thing comes across to me as scum pretending to attack one another. The accusations Lacey makes against Carl don't feel very serious to me, and seem like a perfect way for two scum to distance themselves from one another. -

*hops out of tiny car, along with twenty other clowns* I don't think it's fair that you and Helen are accusing me of summarizing though - as far as I'm aware, most of my points and suggestions had not been mentioned beforehand. I'd like to think I've helped out. I was one of the first to defend Derek, and gave my thoughts about revealing alter egos. And I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I think I made some pretty good points. *honk honk* In all honesty, I can't say I was all that confident that Kingsley and Bleeb were scum. Thus, I chose not to vote. However, I did not feel strongly enough about their allegiance that I'd go out of my way to defend them. I did defend Derek though, because it was clear to me from his story that he was telling the truth.Unfortunately, clowns don't have regular sleep patterns, so I wasn't around during Kingsley's late day bandwagon. As for Bleeb, I wasn't sure about him. I was sort of waiting for him to come out and tell us why we shouldn't vote for him, but that never really happened. By the end of the day, he already had a majority vote, so there was no point in adding my vote against someone I was unsure about in the first place. As for accusations, I haven't got a particularly good read on anyone yet, so I have just been poking around a little. If I do see something scummy however, I'll let everyone know.
