  1. And what led you to believe she was lying? From what you've written, it seems like the reason you thought this was because she hadn't claimed publicly yet. Well yes, I'm not confident that she's a Coyote, so I'm not voting for her. She's definitely going to be lynched today anyway, so I'd rather do something productive with my vote than throw it away on a bandwagon.
  2. I'm going to go ahead and Vote: Patrick Devon (Piratedave84), for reasons already stated.
  3. Because there's no way to be sure whether said supporter is a townie or a Coyote. It's way too early in this game of life to be sure about someone's allegiance. I didn't say there was anything flawed in asking her to claim publicly. I said it was flawed to ask her to claim to someone in private, for the reasons I've already stated. Claiming in private does nothing to help her situation at all. Perhaps now you can say your vote is justified, but you voted for Esther before she made her vanilla claim. The reason you gave for voting for her was because she hadn't revealed her role in public yet. Which seems to go against everything you've just said.
  4. To be honest, I'm still not confident you're a Coyote, but your attitude isn't really helping your case. Generally, it's not a good idea to antagonise the town and place the blame on us when you're facing a lynch. Give us a reason to keep you alive. Yesterday you said you still have lots to contribute to the town, yet today you've done very little. Try to help us out here. Having said that, it's odd that people wanted Esther to claim in private to someone she trusted: How could anyone trust anybody this early in the game? There's a very real chance she would claim to a non-townie, thus giving them and advantage with no benefits to the town. Even if she did claim to a townie, what would it achieve? A large proportion of the people in this city want her dead - how would claiming privately to one person change their minds about the lynch? What's also weird is that even though they suggest that Esther make a claim in private, they go ahead and vote for her anyway, on the basis that she hasn't claimed publicly yet. Patrick and Jessica go ahead and vote for Esther anyway, ... So you're just going to give up? Whatever your allegiance is, that's no fun. Come on, give us a defense.
  5. I'm leaning towards a NAY, but it's really dependent on what role you have. At the moment, you could be anything from an investigator to a paranoid gun owner, so the scum don't really know whether or not it's worth using their actions on you. If you reveal that you have an important role, the scum will make sure you're never able to use it again. However, if you have a fairly minor role, go ahead and reveal it, as it will help to confirm your allegiance as well as future roleclaims. Kenneth's decision to incur voting penalties rather than vote does seem odd to me. I can't help but feel it may be an attempt to look like a townie who has nothing to hide and who is unafraid of being voted for. It may be a little too ballsy a move for a Coyote to make, but it still doesn't make sense to me why he wouldn't just pick someone, anyone, to vote for.
  6. I don't know why everyone is assuming Esther is scum simply because she wasn't killed last night. She would've been a poor choice for a scum-kill. Yesterday, everyone was already predicting she'd be killed, so why would the scum risk targeting her? It's much easier for them to target someone below the radar so that they do not risk being caught by a watcher or getting blocked by a doctor. If Esther is a townie, the scum have made a good choice not killing her - as now, everyone believes that because she isn't dead, she must be a Coyote. As for why Drake was killed, this post is rather interesting: Unfortunately, he never named the others he found strange. It's certainly possible the scum wanted to silence him before she could reveal his other suspects. Drake used to be the mayor of Aperture City, so I'd assume she'd be able to get the best reads on the people who lived there with her, though that's just a guess. I had started posting before Esther made her post. If Esther and I were trying to coordinate our votes, I wouldn't have blatantly voted straight after her. I'm not sure why you're suspicious of me because I cast the deciding vote. Someone always has to do it. As I said, I would have preferred to see a potential vanilla townie dead that a potential PR townie dead. Thus, I voted for Caleb.
  7. Now that I'm caught up on everything, I don't find the cases against either Caleb or Esther particularly convincing. However, Esther seems to be more passionate and genuinely concerned with catching scum, and appears to me to be too reckless to be scum. Of course, she also potentially has a night action, whereas Caleb has confirmed he doesn't, which leads me to... Vote: Caleb Norman (Captain Nemo) I also agree with Sheridan that Zachary's vote is odd. Not only is his vote useless, but also because a miller claim by itself is not valid grounds for a lynch. The vast majority of us will not be investigated over the course of this game of life, so essentially Sheridan is in the same boat as most of us. It is only in the late-game that I would be concerned about the inability to confirm his allegiance.
  8. I'm not sure where everyone's getting the idea that what Sheridan did was too ballsy for a Coyote. There's no way to verify her claim, so a scum doesn't really have anything to lose by making such a claim. Sheridan knows full well that claiming miller isn't enough to get her lynched on its own. That is not to say that I believe she is scum, just that it's not any more ballsy for Sheridan to claim miller as a scum than as a townie. It is too early to tell whether or not she's a townie, and her miller claim doesn't really swing things one way or the other. Keep the investigator on her? What purpose could that possibly serve?
  9. Howdy everybody! My name is Tony P. Russel , professional card player. If anyone fancies a game, I'd be more than happy to take some of your hard-earned dollars off your hands.
  10. 1) I've experienced some mafia. Recently, I've played EB Mafia and The Pearl. 2) I should be good to go after the 27th. 3) Serial Killer.
  11. Here are some atmospheric pictures from TheOneRing.net (images are links to HQ versions):
  12. Thanks for the game, Bob. It was nice to play a neutral again, I enjoy the flexibility of the play style. The diamond stealing roles were an interesting concept, but it did make things a little town-weighted. Perhaps us neutrals would've sided with the scum if they had a stronger start, but the fact that the scum needed to keep the diamond to win made the neutral and scum objectives a lot less compatible.
  13. I'll be interested to hear what Betty has to say for herself. If she was a godfather, I would've expected her to show up as town. As others have said, I'm inclined to believe that she's the other master criminal at the moment - it sort of makes sense that a master criminal would be able to avoid detection - and is thus harmless. Since Michael has admitted that he has to outnumber the innocents, I'm assuming he must be part of a cult. I feel like we should nip them in the bud and stop them from causing trouble later on. Unless Betty's story is unbelievable or a better lead shows up later on, I'm going to Vote: Michael (badboytje88)
  14. Well, the scum started off with the diamond, so they had it on night one. You stole the diamond from them on night two when you targeted Bristol, which was the entire reason you outed her as scum yesterday. This means that anyone who was found to not have the diamond on nights one and two are very unlikely to be scum. Wait, what did you say? Oh... Well, thanks for being honest, I guess.
  15. The fact that Barbara's allegiance showed up in pink rather than grey certainly gives more credence to the idea that Michael and Holly are in fact neutrals. They also provided enough detail about their roles for me to believe that they have been telling us the truth. The people who pushed for a lynch on them rather than Bristol should definitely be held under some scrutiny today. It is very likely that some of them were scum hoping to swing attention away from Bristol. Their names are below: Richard / ADHO - voted for Michael first, then quickly voted for Bristol when Barbara revealed the investigation result. Changed his vote to Holly at the end of the day. Phil / Rufus - voted for Holly, then joined the Michael bandwagon, then changed his vote for Bristol at the end of the day. Thomas / Captain Genaro - voted for Michael. Voted for Bristol when the investigation result was revealed Betty / Ferrik - Voted for Michael. Bill / Capt. Redblade - raised suspicions about Michael, didn't vote. Voted for Bristol at the end of the day. Jack / Piratedave - voted for Michael, then changed votes at the end of the day. Stacy / Sandy - didn't have the diamond when targeted by Michael, unlikely to be scum. Mary / BoyWonder - wasn't targeting anyone when tracked, unlikely to be scum. Diane / Trumpetking - didn't have the diamond when targeted by master criminal, unlikely to be scum.
  16. The way I see it, there is still a possibility that Holly and Michael are harmless to the town. On the other hand, Bristol is 100% scum (because three people wouldn't put their lives on the line to kill one single townie) and therefore should be lynched. The way I read the rules, the Thieves are the only faction we are required to destroy. It seems to me that the "Amateur Thieves" is a third party faction that the rules warned us about: ... Which suggests to me that we are not required to kill them to win the game. It is only the "Thieves" we have to kill, and therefore Bristol should be our top priority. Vote: Bristol (Peanuts) Having said that, we should definitely try to kill Holly or Michael tonight. There is a possibility they are a cult, we don't want to let them overwhelm us. A cult is only dangerous if they outnumber us before we manage to kill all the scum. Have you got an answer about your win condition yet? Have you won already, or not?
  17. I'm still not confident in the Mary lynch. I can't imagine the scum lying so blatantly about their passenger numbers. It's been cleared up that the numbers don't relate to allegiances, which means the scum team likely have a good mix of different numbers. Thus, I imagine the scum would be would've realised there was no correlation and wouldn't have bothered lying about which numbers they received. It's just far too risky. I feel this tracker business should be cleared up. I can't imagine we'd have two trackers on this ship, so one must be lying. I'm inclined to believe Barbara's tracker, since their "unsuccessful" result is less fake-able and supports Babs' role claim. As has been said, Pierre's claim just seems a little too convenient. Vote: Pierre (CallMePie)
  18. Are you still confusing me with Mary? Or did you really intend to vote for me yesterday? And why are you saying you were wrong to vote for someone based on their passenger number when you say the exact opposite directly below? This post is so baffling to me, I don't know what to say... Does anyone want some of my tapioca?
  19. Matthew's set also came with a villain. But it's also what God would tell us if the idea was completely wrong... I don't know why you're pushing this idea so hard. It's ridiculous to assume that God would make the game so easy for us. It's already been confirmed that the set numbers will be used for a building contest, I doubt there's going to be a hidden meaning in there. So you're a neutral then, right?
  20. I assume that if we're having a building contest, we'll know soon enough if anyone was lying about their set. Surely if someone builds something with an invalid number, it won't be counted, right? Since it seems the numbers are just there for the building contest, I now feel safe in revealing that mine is 4431 From what I make out from the rules, the day will end once a majority is reached, so I'd suggest we hold off on voting for Mary just yet. I'm not really convinced by the case against her anyway. I don't know why the scum would want to draw so much attention to themselves. If they wanted to lie about their number, I would've expected them to pick a more believable one. And unless all of Mary's scum partners also had non-city sets (which seems unlikely), she would've felt safe in revealing that she had a Star Wars set anyway. I assume you're talking about Mary here? Otherwise, I have no clue what you're talking about. Yes, that is a set. I don't know what you're trying to achieve here. Are you going to keep posting random 4-digit numbers until you find one that isn't a lego set? I just baked a cookie. Do you want a cookie?
  21. I feel we may be reading too much into these numbers. Mary's passenger number (9696) seems to indicate that they don't correlate with lego sets. Any 4-digit number you can think of is bound to have a lego set that corresponds with it. While it is interesting that a lot of our numbers are linked to new recent sets, there are enough exceptions to the rule to suggest that this may just be a coincidence.
  22. Oh boy, a mafia game! This is the best cruise ever. Yaayyy! My name is Susan, by the way. I'm good at baking things.
  23. 1) Are you busy for the next few weeks? Nope. 2) Have you played Mafia before? I've played a couple. Let me on board!
  24. It wasn't the case in this game, my role specifically stated that my protection only works against scum and vig kills. We weren't planning on making that claim. After Shadows reported that you guys wanted to see a group pm, I figured that claiming to be the sole recruiter was the only possible way of getting around that.
