CMF Mafia 2 - Day 2 - Special Delivery
MagPiesRUs replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm not sure why the scum targeting their own with a curse would be outside the realm of possibility. If the council do have a cursing ability, they wouldn't use it solely on townies. If we are to believe that night actions are associated with our alter-egos, then the witch does seem the most likely to have a curse ability. Though I guess a mummy could have a curse too... So you've sent Derek your alter ego just now? Why the wait? I think it's safe to say that there will be scum amongst the list Derek has provided. The council will likely want to keep their identities a secret, as it is possible that they can slip up if they do. We know that at least one council member will have to lie about their alter ego. And if the theory that non-monster roles are PRs, then the council members need to be extra careful about claiming. -

I would be ok with everyone claiming to Derek. I feel like the real cop would have exposed him at this point if he wasn't telling the truth. Some may think that would be reckless of the cop, but an investigator for a scum isn't such a bad deal - especially if it also prevents other PRs from trusting the wrong person. *honk honk* -

Seeing as Caitie received a letter that said: "the Council sends their regards", it seems pretty likely that the Council were the ones who killed Caitie. *honk honk!* Oh, I've been beaten to the punch. *pies self in the face* -
CMF Mafia 2 - Day One - On the Case
MagPiesRUs replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
*Rides in on unicycle and performs several figure eights around the room* I don't understand why people are so eager to risk losing our investigator to pursue evidence that isn't very damning at all. The case against Derek seems to boil down three things: - The fact that he claimed a non-monster role. This was done under no duress and is now backed up by a private claim (which as I mentioned before, seems to make it unlikely that Derek is scum) - The fact that he took too long to reveal his alter-ego. Derek has explained his rationale behind this, and it seems plausible enough to me. Certainly not grounds for a lynch by itself. Why would he need to wait around and confer with his team in order to come up with one of the 150 or so different non-monster minifigures anyway? Couldn't he have easily come up with one himself? - The fact that he claimed cop too easily. Even though he already had 14 votes on him and just revealing his alter-ego would have done nothing to change anyone's mind. Really? Huh. I could have sworn you had been online since Derek made his reveal. I must be going crazy. *honk honk!* Checking back again, it seems Carl, Kingsley, Lacey and Mikatta have all been around since Derek roleclaimed. It would be nice to hear your thoughts on this. At the moment, it feels as if some of you are testing the waters, seeing if it's safe to leave your votes on Derek or if you're going to have to get another townie lynched instead. I just find it odd that you seem to be implying that Helen is responsible for the votes against Derek, even though several others had a hand in it too. To me, it came across as you planting the seeds for suspicion against her should Derek turn out to be a townie tomorrow.- 267 replies

MagPiesRUs replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Spinning many plates at once is harder than it looks, you know. *honk honk!* Personally, I'd be more confident in lynching one of the Derek bandwagoners. Caitie is one that sticks out to me - she has had very little to say, turned up and got her vote in early, and hasn't had anything to say about the changing situation since. But if we really have to test this theory that all monsters must have monster alter-egos , then I'd be a lot happier lynching the faith healer than our potential cop, even if the other faith healer does turn up. I'd much rather lose a weak protector (who, if scum, is under no obligation to actually protect a promised target) than an investigator. Why do you keep claiming that the bandwagon against Derek is Helen's fault? Clarissa had as much to do with it as Helen. In your other post, it almost seemed as if you were setting things up for a Helen lynch tomorrow if Derek turned out to be town:- 267 replies

CMF Mafia 2 - Day One - On the Case
MagPiesRUs replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Have you made any progress with this? Presumably you think they're scum as well as Derek? Because the whole idea that Derek is scum seems to rest on the premise that all monsters have monster role. If this person is a townie too, that means that Derek did not slip up, and that there are in fact non-monster monsters. *honk honk!* If the person you're talking to in private is scum however, I'd still be inclined to believe Derek is telling the truth. If Derek really did make a slip up like you said, surely his teammates wouldn't also put their necks on the line like that to protect him? It's too risky a move.- 267 replies

CMF Mafia 2 - Day One - On the Case
MagPiesRUs replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Why would Derek put himself in that position in the first place? There is nothing a council member had to gain from coming out and claiming a non-monster role. Isn't it more likely that a townie genuinely thought that most people didn't have a monster alter-ego than a scum, for whatever reason, blabbing that they had a non-monster role? Yes, that's why he would've roleclaimed instead of rolling over and dying. Do you really think Derek had any chance of surviving the lynch before he roleclaimed? *honk honk!*- 267 replies

CMF Mafia 2 - Day One - On the Case
MagPiesRUs replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
To be honest, the fact that Derek was the only person with a non-monster alter-ego was the main reason I voted for him. Derek was very confident in revealing that he didn't have a monster alter-ego, which struck me as a townie thing to do, and I was fully expecting someone else to back up his assertion. His cop roleclaim makes me a lot more wary of voting for him though. I suppose it's possible that the powerful PRs get stranger alter-egos, so that they are more vulnerable to suspicion. It seems like you're acting on the assumption that the scum would deliberately sabotage their own game just so that they can say, "well, scum would never do that!" instead of, you know, actually doing something that makes sense and will keep them alive.- 267 replies

*Somersaults back into the room* Unvote: Derek Polanes (DarthPotato) Are you saying we should lynch someone who's claimed cop? What? Why would anyone claim anything to you this early on? You've done nothing so far that suggests you're a monster. To trust someone who's unconfirmed this early on sounds completely bonkers! *honk honk!*- 267 replies

For my my next act, I shall keep 10 plates spinning whilst I vote! *spins 10 plates* Vote: Derek Polanes (DarthPotato) Tada! *bows to rapturous applause* Since no one else has come forward with a non-monster role, there seems to be no doubt Derek is either a Council member or a neutral. But don't let that put you off folks, I am a master of my profession. Nothing ever goes wrong! In fact, of the hundreds of times I've performed this trick, only once has the child ever survived! *Honk honk!* Step right up! *Honk honk!* -

Ragnarök Now Redux - Conclusion
MagPiesRUs replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks for the kind words everyone, and thanks for playing! I'll post some more thoughts later on, but this was some of the most fun I've had hosting a game. He didn't guess the lynch correctly, so he didn't receive the strongman modifier that night. He was lucky enough to be protected by Rick though, so he wasn't killed by Foog's bomb. It's a shame WBD didn't send in a prediction for Day 3 though - had he guessed that def would be lynched, he would've been able to bypass fhomess's protection and swing momentum a little more in the town's favour. -
Canute Grey-Bush (CallMePie) sat out late at night, trying to remember the tale of his previous death. "Ah, yes!" Canute said to himself as he paced around, "I was tracking Patrekr the Red, trying to make sure he wasn't up to no good. Next thing I knew, he was swinging an axe at my face! These paranoid axe owners are crazy, I tell you!" "I'd never do anything like that..." Canute continued to ramble, "If someone ever tried to target me at night, I would welcome them with open arms..." Just then, a shadowy figure appeared behind Canute and gleefully jabbed their scummy sword into his back. Old and senile, however, Canute had already forgotten about what he had planned if someone targeted him, and instead swung his axe at his assailant's face! Caught off guard, the dark figure could do nothing against Canute's relentless attack. Canute had fought off his attacker, but had suffered a fatal wound. Bleeding profusely, he staggered back into the hall... ... Leaving behind a bewildered Baulf (Bob)... Meanwhile, Helga Pudding-Head (Hinckley) was impatiently waiting at the window. Do the einherjar still have a chance? she wondered... She did not hear the approach of a second shadowy figure behind her. Sensing that their time was right, the sword-wielder advanced towards an unsuspecting Helga... Helga turned around just in time to see the figure raise their sword... ... And place it gently in her hands... "Now is the time to strike!" the dark figure said, "We succeeded in convicting the Einherjar Patrekr the Red yesterday, and Canute Grey-Bush, also an Einherjar, is on his way out too. Our master is pleased with us... As we speak, he is leading an army to destroy the Gods once and for all!" "What about Baulf?" Helga asked, "is he still alive?" "Apparently, the shock value hurt more than the actual wound. He will be alright..." "Excellent!" Helga snarled, "Father! I have finally done you proud! Ragnarök is upon us at last! Oink oink oink oink!" The sun was rising in Himinbjörg, where the watchman Heimdallr began to sense a rumbling in the distance... Just ahead rode Loki, and behind him came an army of monsters. The giant wolf Fenrir, the dragon Nidhogg and the serpent Jörmungand were among them... Realising that Ragnarök was upon them, Heimdallr blew his great horn, hoping to alert the other Gods before it was too late... Thanks to the tireless work of his servants, Loki had regained his strength and was now prepared to go to war. Eying his foe, he galloped across the field and made towards him, sword raised. Unwilling to allow Loki to triumph, Heimdallr stood before him unwavering... As he was making his way to Valhalla, Thor heard a noise echoing through the sky. It was the horn of Heimdallr! The horn had not reached Thor soon enough however. Rising up before him came Jörmungand the Serpent... ... Who caught Thor and his chariot in the air... "We are too late!" lamented Odin, hearing the horn blast in the sky. "We have made a terrible mistake. I must get back to Valhalla and make things right..." Suddenly, the wolf Fenrir burst out of the trees, sensing an opportunity to strike... Odin turned around just in time to see the beast racing toward him... Back at Valhalla, Canute continued to stumble around, searching for someone to assist him... Canute was startled to find the towering figure of Snotra Carrotface (Scubacarrot) before him. Raising her rolling pin, she advanced towards poor Canute. His energy spent, Canute could do nothing to stop her relentless assault on his noggin. He was slain. Across the hall, Wilhalm Bloodaxe (WhiteFang) was minding his own business. Snotra proceeded to whack him in the head too, because why not? "Wait, what are you doing?" a voice called out from behind Snotra. It was Snotra! The newly arrived Chief Mursi (Cornelius Murdock) and the recovering Wilhalm looked on at the two Snotras, baffled. "Listen to me!" Snotra began, "The other Snotra is a shapeshifting Servant of Loki! We have to kill her!" "What?" Snotra said, "You're the imposter. I'm the real Snotra. Kill her!" "You must believe me!" Snotra pleaded, "I am Snotra! Here, I'll say something dick-ish! I think your beard is hideous!" "Wait, I'm more dick-ish! Your face makes me nauseous! Kill her!" Just then, a black shroud of smoke swirled around one of the Snotras, and the figure began to morph into something truly monstrous... It was Helga Pudding-Head! "Damnit!" she said, "My powers have worn off!" "Aha! The treacherous Helga has revealed herself!" said Mursi, "This makes our little conundrum far easier!" Mursi, Wilhalm and Baulf proceeded to jump on Snotra and tear her poor carrot-face apart. Snotra was one of the Einherjar. Chief Mursi came to a horrible realisation, "But if Snotra, Patrekr and Canute were all einherjar, then that means..." A pitchfork suddenly pierced Mursi's back and he collapsed, gasping. Mursi, the last of the Einherjar, was dead. The Servants of Loki had achieved their goal at last! The traitors of Valhalla heard a voice from up on the balcony. It was Harald! "Well done!" Harald said, throwing off his pineapple-styled garb, "Finally, the einherjar have been defeated and Ragnarök is upon us! When I approached you all about this plot, I knew you would succeed. All our hard work has finally paid at last!" "Why did I do it, you ask? Why did I, Harald, break my oath and betray Valhalla? Well, let me explain..." "We already know," one of the servants of Loki said, "you told us when you first came to us with your plot. You really should have delivered your monologue while the last einherjar were still alive." "Oh. That's right, actually. Well, let me tell you again anyway..." Before Harald could begin however, a great dragon burst through the window... "What is this?!" Harald exclaimed. The dragon eyed Harald down... ... Then, lunging forward, caught him in its mouth. The other servants of Loki could only watch on in horror and the great beast devoured their leader. With one mighty gulp, Harald was no more. The dragon then turned its attention to the remaining servants, who quickly overturned one of the tables in the vain hope that it would protect them from whatever was to come. With a roar, the dragon unleashed a storm of fire down onto the warriors below. Congratulations to the Servants of Loki - Wilhalm Bloodaxe (WhiteFang), Helga Pudding-Head (Hinckley), Baulf (Bob) and the deceased Dufa the Godless (def) and Finn the Squinter (fhomess)! "Why did we try to bring about Ragnarök again? In hindsight, I feel like this was a bad idea..." And so Ragnarök fell upon all things, and the world as we Vikings knew it was ended... Ragnarök Now Redux - Day Six
MagPiesRUs replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
By unanimous decision, the einherjar had convicted Patrekr the Red (Palathadric). Resigned to his fate, he marched his way up the hall where he would be executed. Harald stood ready, axe in hand. His eyes glimmering, he had a good feeling about this lynch. Finally, Patrekr came to the end of the hall... He proceeded to bend down onto the makeshift chopping block that had once been an einherjar's seat. Now in position, Harald prepared to cut the traitor's head off... Had the einherjar made the right decision? As the others pondered the fate of Valhalla, Harald raised his axe in the air... Ker-plonk! -

/ Day One / Day Two / Day Three / Day Four / Day Five Late at night Lefsi Red-Shirt was keeping watch over the hall. Always eager to risk his life for the good of the einherjar, Lefsi had volunteered for sentry duty. He was disappointed that over the course of six days, no one had tried to kill him yet. However, his luck was about to change... A shadowy figure crept up behind Lefsi and stabbed him in the neck. Across the room, Naemr Sledgehammer was just waking up after a rowdy night. He awoke just in time to see the swordsman felling poor Lefsi. Just when Naemr thought the horrors were over however, a second swordsman appeared. "I'm seeing double!" Naemr exclaimed, rubbing his eyes, "four swordsmen!" The second figure closed in for the kill... ... And plunged their sword into Naemr's stomach. With his final breath, Naemr said, "this is lame..." Having done their jobs, the two figures morphed back into the shadows. Morning arrived, and the hungover warriors stumbled into the hall. Harald was already waiting for them, ready to tell them the news. "Lefsi Red-Shirt was one of the Einherjar," Harald said. "So was Naemr Sledgehammer... "Finn the Squinter however, was a Servant of Loki. We are fortunate to have convicted a servant yesterday. However, we must convict another one if we are to survive today..."
