The Honor of Your [Sigfig's] Presence is Requested...
Bodi replied to Captain Dee's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I hope it's not too late to ask but may I switch my character with another one? The Duc d'Ablette has been substitued by Berart Mazan, Duc de Boussac, here's a painting of him: His torso come from a Ninjago set, if it's hard to find, he could also wear the officer tunic from the last pirate wave. Sorry for the trouble. -
[OL-Challenge III-Cat A] The universal language
Bodi replied to Bodi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks Sarge. Speaking of the eastern minifigs, I have a few from ninjago sets, but I want to keep them for the next episode of Surlecoup's adventure. It's true that we used to see ancient chinese militarymen wearing cloth armour and bamboo hat. Instead, scale armours were the standard equipment for more than a thousand years. Cloth armours were mostly used by Mongols and Manchus, so I rather prefer not to use them as reference. Conical helmets were also frequent in Chinese armies, though I'm not sure if they have that protective piece for the nose, probably not. I think some old castle torsos could also be used to represent eastern soldiers, especially those with scale armour printed on them. -
Captain Surlecoup, a corsair working secretly for Oleon, received a letter from la Royale, requesting him to try to establish contact with the Kingdom of Lotus, and inquire the cause of their recent raids, if possible. Konwing he'll be paid handsomely upon his return, he set the course of his ship to east. After a long and uneventful voyage, he and his aide-de-camp Mr. Fish arrived at a coastal town in the southern part of Lotus. They walked straight to the gates, and not surprisingly, the guards refused to let them through due to their "barbaric manners". Both sides don't speak the language of their interlocutors, and some sort of tension began to appear on the faces of these oriental soldiers. Mr.Fish gripped nervously the handle of his sword, getting himself ready to pull the blade if things go wrong. Then, he saw his captain produced a gold coin from his large pocket and handed it to one of the guard. And it was enough to make the guards happy, they stepped back and let the two corsairs walk through the gates of the tower. "You know, Mr. Fish, you know I can't speak Lotii, but I do know what sound they like to hear, the tinkling of gold." The whole scene:

[OL - A-MCRA] Travels to Terraversa
Bodi replied to Captain Genaro's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Somewhere in Nola Mar, at a loyalist encampment, a night watchman saw a faint light flashing at regular interval on the horizon, he grasped his lamp and shouted loudly :" It's them!" - "At last!" a middled aged man wearing a monocle rushed out of the tower and chased down the stairs. A few moment later, a smuggler boat anchored at the bay and a rowboat was lowered. once it was filled with muskets and ammunition, two sailors boarded it and the boat was rowed to the shore. -

The shooting practice and fencing scenes look both very good, and the fort is even better, I like the angled wall. -
[OL - Challenge III - Cat A] The Pearl of the South
Bodi replied to Keymonus's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A fascinating sequel to Tristan's adventure, great story. The build is excellent as well, the irregular dock looks good, and it's nice to see different symbols of Lotii culture featured in a same build, which work together to create a vibrant market scene.- 12 replies

I like this build. Good replica of captain Genaro's warehouse.Though it's very daring for Sir Cooke to adventure among the rebels loyalists.

Great writing, Keymonus, and thanks for posting the pics for me. Looking forward to your new ship, that quarterdeck looks promising.

Sorry for the late reply. It's just a small boat, with a rubber launcher. -
Nice selection of minifigs, I like these classic torsos.

[OL- Troop Raising] New Artillery Companies
Bodi replied to merc's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A proud company of artillerymen we have here, I like the variety of minifigs. I'd like to see more details about these 6 pounders, it's really hard to distinguish on the pic. -
As the title says, this is a infantery company to be raised in Lavalette, for the defense of our eastern settlements against eventual Loti raids. Reports of a Corrington settlement being raided by that mysterious Empire aroused some inquietudes among OL generals, after thorough discussion, decision was made to send reinforcements to the colonies. A company of Olean regulars marching in a street of Lavalette, the lieutenant wishing to impress the crowd, if there's any, ordered his men to goose-step.

[OL-sistership] Sistershipping the HRS Comabattante
Bodi replied to Bodi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks Brandon Stark. I borrowed the furniture design from other builders of the forum, particulary the chair. I used bricks for the floor because I wanted to avoid the pain of removing tiles when I dissamble that I dissamble that build. -

Nice mosaic, or is it right word to describe the pavement? I like the stream too, almost a must in far-east style gardens, and the torii looks good too. -
Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Bodi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Here are two custom hulls for smaller boats I've been building as a distraction, with good ol'technique. The first one is more parts intensive, using a lot of plates and tiles to shape the hull, the second one requires much less parts, of lighter construction, I'd eventually use it as a gunboat or a cutter to ferry goods and passengers. -
This is to sistership the Combattante lost in the last MRCA turn, it will be sistershipped as Resistante, and new ship would keep the HRS prefix. @Kolonialbeamter could you help me with the forms, when you have time ofc. A young lieutenant freshly graduated from the Astrapi Academy is sitting in his room, apparently occupying to write a letter to his family. He's been paying the hotel more than a month, waiting to board his new ship, which should arrived weeks before. "Another day wasted," said to himself. What he didn't know is the shipyards were working at full stretch lastly, he may have to wait a few days to see the masts of his new ship appearing on the horizon. Thanks for viewing.

It represents quite well the colonial style with the arches and white walls, the roof looks good too, I like the use of these round bricks.

Captain Cookie’s Pirate Training [Part 3]
Bodi replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I like the way the story is told, lot of fun, and I'm also a fan of these guns. And I have a bomb ketch ready and unlicensed. -
Separators as roof, they work wonderfully here. The angled and sloped walls look good, and I like that bourrelet thingy on the tower, nice spot for fishing.
