  1. I’ve had only one pin ever break, and it was the blue 3L reinforced one. I still find it odd because in the 2021 Senna GTR set, the taillights are bars pushed into pins.
  2. I browse are Rebrickable often and there have been so many Technic pieces labeled as “rare” because they are a new variant to prevent inserting a bar (called squared pin holes). LEGO has been going crazy squaring the pin holes on many parts and I don’t understand why.
  3. Honestly, I try to use rare parts whenever I can. It’s a bad mentality, but I can’t resist using obscure and neat parts. It’s one of the reasons I collect non-production parts, but I don’t use those in my MOCs.
  4. Down for me. Safari on iOS and Mac both do not work. Seems like there’s a server issue and I hope staff are aware.
  5. It isn’t a retail set, and they used parts that aren’t available in proper colors as well as using real tires. I think omitting of design requirements is a pretty safe assumption.
  6. Not miniatures, but I do use airbrush for painting rolling stock for a model railway and sometimes static car kits.
  7. This is good to hear, but do I have to go through the whole setup process to get the remote connected every time I want to drive the model?
  8. Number one reason why I hate using smartphones to control models. I much prefer the limited features of PF because I can use a physical remote. Control+ just isn’t appealing because there is no remote. We saw the patents for a Technic style PU remote, I hope they are used someday.
  9. 42125 has reinforced suspension arms. They don’t function any different, but the ball cup end is somewhat reinforced.
  10. Having it in 3L would really help with small car suspensions and virtual pivot.
  11. Awesome review as usual. I think it would be useful if you added a “notable parts” section where you put all the useful/hard to find parts in one shot. It would be very subjective. I would have included the different black beam frames, etc. I think a segment like this would be useful for people on the edge of buying the set. I know you put a list of inventory at the end but somebody could easily miss useful parts.
  12. Part 26287 spotted in Dark Green in this year’s holiday employee gift. Maybe a hint of the color of future models? There were dark green panels in a Monkie Kid set earlier.
  13. My problem is, this part is basically just 92907.
  14. I don’t like the direction LEGO is going with big single-use specialized parts. They’ve done around three giant “book” pieces in the span of two years. Isn’t this the reasoning that almost killed LEGO in the early 2000s?
  15. New technic part in 41925 DOTS set. It is at the top of the 3rd image in white. Appears to be completely useless as the same part can be made with two 1x2 thin beams and a bushing.
  16. One of the convention activities two years ago was ‘build by the box’ and that year it was the Technic mini cherry picker. Nobody got it right I hope this polybag is distributed everywhere as sometimes I only see one type of polybag in stores.
  17. 42095 is STILL being produced? Isn’t that ancient by now? I guess they have a lot of PF overstock.
  18. I used advanced retraction settings to practically eliminate the blob. Cura has a “retraction extra prime amount” hidden in the settings panel that changes whether the retraction extrudes further or shorter after it retracts. Works for me!
  19. Nope, but it can be improved in your settings. When you get the printer, consider this test model which will determine how dimensionally accurate your printer is with current settings.
  20. Remember that “print accuracy” in this case means vertical layer height, not tolerances. My new printer will come in January and I will be putting a 0.25mm nozzle on it. I will let you know how it goes! I haven’t found a great way to minimize the Z-seam. You can see it in your slicer program under the “layers” view mode. It usually aligns with the sharpest corner, or you can set it to other settings like “randomize” if you want blobs all over your print If you tune your retraction settings properly, the Z-seam should not be a problem.
  21. The 3- hole design has been available in white since 2004. I still don’t understand why they changed to the new version because the axle hole length was reduced and makes it difficult to build compact suspensions.
  22. I just realized the wheel hub 6-hole design is new in white.
  23. I have two 3D printers (soon to be 3) and I have printed a few parts to experiment with. I tried Efferman’s 32 tooth gear in ABS plastic (do not recommend, dangerous fumes) and it didn’t require any post processing at all. What you need to do in CAD is make every dimension slightly bigger (for my main printer I make every hole 0.1mm bigger). It depends on how you have your printer tuned. I tried 3L links and those were fine. I also made some helical gears and they mostly worked but were a little rough meshing. One thing to keep in mind is that PLA plastic (the standard for 3D printing) scratches/deforms LEGO elements made of ABS to a small extent. I recommend Polymaker Polymax PLA due to its softer formula made for mechanical parts. If something doesn’t fit right the first time, your sliver program will probably have a setting called “horizontal expansion”. It will make all holes slightly bigger or slightly smaller. Out of curiosity, what printer did you choose? Good luck!
  24. @Jurss and @suffocation what do you guys think of this? I changed the front to slopes. I also changed the wheels to white since this suspension setup is dependent on the old variant of the wheels. I still need the most help with the door bodywork, any advice on that?
