Hi timmyc1983, kind of had the same issue, ordered on the first, no confirmation email and status "in progress"... On the 5th I sent an email to S@H Customer Support, the next day it showed as tendered on the track my status link and on the 9th it was home... Try give them a call or email... After a few hours building, I must say this is really one of my favourite Modular, I'd say right after Green Grocer (first love can't be beaten..). The details and techniques are great and even if a typical Parisian building is everything but olive green, royal blue and white. it actually really looks like a Parisian building... The build is various and fun, sometimes repetitive, do twice the same part assembly but in the end a total enjoyment!!! Thanks a lot Jamie / TLG One thing I noticed is that it was kind of easier to build (eventhough there are nice techniques) and I did not have to look for parts for minutes sometimes, it was a very fluid build and yet attractive for usual Modular fans builders Here a few pics of the PR (a story higher): IMG_0468 IMG_0470 IMG_0474

Hi Everyone who ordered the set, one question: For those who chose standard delivery, did you receive a confirmation email yet? With tracking number for the shipping via DHL or else? I ordered it on the 1st of jan, slightly passt midnight, I can see the item on the shop at home website order status link (Yxxxxxxxxx number) but did not receive a conffirmation email and cannot track the shipping via DHL, am I the only one? Or does it also happen to some of you? Thanks a lot in advance for your answer!

Talking about values... After the frustration of not getting an early release on the 16th, I went like, OK Lego, I am stronger than you, I can wait... But Lego won, I bought Emerald night, an extra wagon and all needed Power Functions as well as Architecture UN HQ and the 8404 transportation set (from swiss kind of ebay). Then I thought I could finally order one in pre-order mode, but noooo, it was a mistake on the site... grrrr, Lego I am stronger, I will not hurry.... But Lego won again and I ordered a couple of PR right after midnight... Me 0, Lego 2... Well done TLG, if PR had been available on early release on the 16th, I would not have bought all the rest... and still bought 2 PRs... To all of you: Happy 2014, brickin' and mocing!

Ordered mine as well. I wanted to use my VIP points to cover the express delivery costs. It seemed to work at first but the order crashed so I had to redo it without express delivery and without using VIP points. The site was quite unstable and slow but at least, even if I did not receive a confirmation email, it shows in the order status link on s@h...

I understood and technical dpt is certainly not understaffed at the highest sales period of the year (SAP must be up and running at max reliability, specific logistics systems also...), and, since there were already issues with 10243 on the s@h website, plus the rumour of an early pre-order date for VIPs, I am sure this is not a purely technical issue. There is a decision process before launching a product on the site or retiring it from the search engine (previous "accident"), it's not an error that can lead to it, as there must be approval prior to a techie pressing the wrong button... . Also a spokes person is always available, especially in critical periods, trust me... as well as a person saying OK cancel these orders...

You mean maximum staffing as it is the period when they make maximum profit ... It's the period when the website just cannot have a breakdown...

Well it seems it happened to me as well.... Can't find the order on the "track order" page of Lego Shop@Home and did not receive any confirmation via email either. On the swiss shop, it still says available for pre-orders (http://search-fr.lego.com/?q=10243&cc=CH) but when you click on add to cart, it says it's available on Jan 1st.. This just NOT ACCEPTABLE... especially in situation where it has other consequences (i.e. L@go and the 10230...). If my credit card has been charged, and if it is the case with many customers, this can be called Robbery as money has been transfered to a Bank account where it can make profit... without receiving a good or service in return. No email from TLG to inform the customers is the worth... if they were able to cancel all orders with 10243 in it, they should be able to send an automatic email as well to apologize for the problem.

Hi sdrnet, Stunning entry! I'd buy it!!! I love the details and the design itself is astonshing. The lamp by itself is worth watching! The fountain with frozen water is also brilliant but the tree house's design beats it all! Well done. Thanks a lot for sharing and inspiring!

Very nice entry Simon! I ate one two days ago but am sure the ones sold in your stall are much better! I like the details, such as white wine bottle and bread to go along, the building techniques used and the overall look of the MOC! As a fellow swiss citizen, I do appreciate the flag The minifigs are quite great (especially the castor hat!) but they seem more north-american than swiss, besides the german cook that looks german... Me too... OK, it has never been officially announced that there would be an early release for VIPs, but I trust Grogall, it certainly was planned. I believe something went wrong... This was the only item on my wishlist... Will have to be a bit more patient, but will not hurry. This is disappointing but oh well, I believe there is much worse than not getting what you wished for x-mas... TLG/Jamie if you read us, if a set is announced so early and that there are rumors about an early VIP sale, if possible, could you please infirm the rumor, so that we don't get too much frustrated but you probably have other stuff to do than caring about a few frustrated AFOLs... EDIT: And oh, there is still 3 hours (CET) left if you want to still make a few of us very very happy!

Still 4 days until the 16th, who knows! When I asked TLG customer support about the restaurant beeing not findable through the search in the Shop at Home site, I also asked for the early release for VIPs on Dec. 16th. The answer could have been, the official release date is January 1st, but instead, their answer was, we cannot communicate, bla bla bla... The release date (jan 1st) was known and published.... So I still have some hope... Edit: It says right now on S@H "Order by midnight 16th December for delivery in time for Christmas! - Based on standard delivery" another hint it might pop-up on the 16th...

Nice first MOC kgflego! I like how you've adapted bay windows, atm, bank sign and so on! You might try to add some details to the visible part of the roof (external side) if you have some grey parts left. Thanks for sharing and inspiring! PS: To share your pictures, create a flickr account, upload your pictures, open the gallery where they are, click on one you want to share and click on the share icon (with arrow). Choose BBC code from the radio button and select a size (800_600), then copy the code and paste it in your message on EB, you'll see the photo.

This thread has been Off Topic since quite a while, isn't there already a topic for modular "wish list" kind of discussion, if not LT, you're right, someone sure has to create one! Now we'll have to wait a while before hearing about the 2015 modular... Unless we get a "haunted house" alike set again in 2014 that can be compared in scale and level of details, amount of pieces, etc... to a modular. Personnally, since it is mostly unlikely that we get 2 modulars/year, I wouldn't mind such additions, like a hybrid train station that would be appealing to both train and modular fans... -

As we are talking about LEGO, I believe any opinion is welcome, all feedbacks are precious to help TLG improve, and us, to like or not like official sets, discuss best practices and improvement/different ideas... I love the new 10243 Parisian Restaurant and I enjoy reading different opinions.

Grogall wrote that there would be an early release for VIP members on the 16th... Ooohhh Yeeaah, got multiple copies of most of the modulars, but this one is the first that makes me want to order more than one at first shopping opportunity... Asked customer service yesterday why it wasn't to be found through the search, I'll post the response. Not receiving an answer today already makes me fear though...

Thanks Redhead 1982, it works on US and swiss websites as well, but it's taged "new" so it should appear in the what's new section (like products that were not available at the time, before) and should appear in the search? Maybe Lego did not want to kill the page and reference it in a harder to find link/category but still, if it's not available on the search I think there is an issue... Don't you think? Thanks again for yor reply!

Dissapeared from Lego.com Shop at Home... Looked for it on swiss shop at home, it appears in the hints of the search engine (eventhough I never searched for it in french, only by number 10243, "Le restaurannt Parisien" appears), but then does not find it anymore...It says, Ooops, can't find the product you're looking for... I am almost 100% sure that it was on the lego website before, can anyone confirm???? Will ask customer service... Gee, if it is not available on Dec. 16th what will I get (buy myself...) for X-Mas... this is the only thing on my wishlist... What could be the reason for a product retirement on the website? Trouble in production?? Edit: Just tried on google with 10243 lego shop and found the adress: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Parisian-Restaurant-10243 then changed the "en-US/Parisian-Restaurant-10243" with "fr-CH/Le-restaurant-parisien-10243" to get http://shop.lego.com/fr-CH/Le-restaurant-parisien-10243 and it works... But there is no way to find it through the lego shop search engine, nor through the *exclusives* or "what's new" shortcuts... Any idea of what is happening? Thanks!

Thanks Lego Family, I'd love to see a "Lego Movie" like Diorama, not being centered on the "transportation sets" that will be released but on the overall architecture... Post some pics! Modular Madness is a great source of inspiration, agree!
