Amazing build with great interior diversity. I also like all tiled floors, an obsession of mine :) It seems you have plans to put this next other modulars that match the back of this one?

The Rise of a New Lego City Layout - Wild City
Berthil replied to PhoenixAustria's topic in LEGO Town
Space enough but size is not always important :) I see mainly sets so up to you to make it a coherent City with more own input :) Good luck and have fun. -
One side is with, other side is without tire. You can see it in your own picture of the Akiyuki original, that's the other side of what you are rendering so you are comparing different kind of 'grabbers'. May be build it first and get it working?

Bricklink and Chinese Parts
Berthil replied to Jubuilder's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I believe these parts in the policy are new since TLG is the owner of Bricklink. -
LEGO is a toy. I think many people that create MoCs are already involved in automotive industry (like myself) or have a technical affinity to it. The automotive industry is a very complex topic from raw material suppliers, compounders, engineers, designers, article manufacturers etc. until the end product on the road. And then add legislation to it. People that create MoCs are generally not in management where the decisions are made on every level concerning the above echelons. That said, I think that there are many MoC creators / creative minds that already had some kind of influence, but all contributions are small. Rome was not build in one day.

[GBC] Akiyuki Ball Factory

@rskamen I did an attempt but failed, it's not possible to get everything in one chart. Also the fact that my image editing software doesn't work wit iOS Catalina doesn't help. I think I will make a video but this will take some time.- 465 replies

?? This Akiyuki although he calls it 'cars' but cars don't run on rails: https://akiyuki.jp/en/works/1667 But I agree, the charm of the system is the train powering and timing it all. Here is also a discussion going on and I mixed them up :) And now that I'm at it, the poster may be should have a look at this thread as from the question it seems the function of the trains is not fully understood if to be replaced by standard trains.

Bricklink and Chinese Parts
Berthil replied to Jubuilder's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I know but it cannot be expected that within a month all these sellers have stopped selling. And the 'All Brands' option in the Market is still there! The seller terms have been adjusted but wasn't there a 'grace' period for everybody to get the fake and modified stuff out? Anyway, just to make sure that the one who has posted here was offered genuine LEGO and has not made a mistake having the filter on 'All Brands' thinking he was buying real LEGO. -
For me the attractive part of the train system is the fact that the train drives everything but it has its limitations as you state. I'm not in favor of it but when nicely executed into something spectacular why not :) That said, I've made the pneumatic scissor lift that is timed by the train but air and an air compressor do the work. So I think I disqualified myself to pass on judgement :)

Bricklink and Chinese Parts
Berthil replied to Jubuilder's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Bricklink has a filter when ordering that you only want genuine LEGO. If that filter is not active you get non-LEGO results as that is also sold via Bricklink. So before burning down the seller check if the filter was active and if it was sold as 100% LEGO. -
I've made other changes to keep the ball unloader of the Invisible Lift in one piece as it would desintegrate after prolonged running. Why is in the description with the photo.

Wedding scene on the roof ready, free instructions to follow soon.

The elevator is a 'dummy' elevator as in the BBT series for 12 years (except last episode). So it's just a door where the stairs go behind as there is no room for a 'real' elevator. It is easily replaced by a wall if a builder does not want the dummy elevator door. Currently I'm finishing up the building instruction with about 300 building steps, a lot of work. I hope to publish coming weekend after arrival of last parts and after taking pictures.

I've made it green already in real and digital build and it does looks taller and better. The ground floor does not look so tall because of the awning but it is. The stair steps are already a brick high and everything is cramped to the stud inside including the non working BBT elevator between the stairs. I see no other way than to publish like this, everybody is free to make the changes they want.
-
Because of the stairs inside but what I can try is to make the top row above the central perk window dark green instead of dark red and see how it looks.

Almost finished the real build of the Central Perk Big Bang Theory modular, only waiting for some bits for the interior and TV crew minifigs to finish up and photograph all. As suggested I changed some colors but I cannot make the ground floor higher. Almost done with the free instruction including several part lists in case you have the Central Perk and/or Bing Bang Theory set. Will post the link here.

[GBC] Akiyuki Ball Factory
Berthil replied to Berthil's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I timed mine differently in the instructions, my Bob is already on its way to the wheel on that point so its just a matter of a different moment in time. Obviously there is only one way to time it or otherwise buckets or balls drop. I agree with Ankoku, my goal was and is to show it on events to the public, please feel free to make any changes that work and share them here.- 465 replies

[GBC] Akiyuki Ball Factory
Berthil replied to Berthil's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@9v system If the changes work for you than that's okay. I've got my machine running very reliable on speeds 2 to 6 according to the current instructions. If I understood your video well you changed the timing of the Bob lifter by turning the cam 90 degrees but if this is done it is not in sync with the bucket lifter that takes the bucket of the wheel. They need to be in sync to take the bucket of the wheel and put the bucket on the wheel so don't I understand this change. The timing of the Bucket emptier is not determined by this cam and can be changed independently but has its drive on the same axle. I've had somebody over at my home with his build of the BF3 and helped him to time everything. However, his build was running very heavy and could not run with the clutch gear in place. We checked everything but we were not able to solve it, everything seemed to be running smoothly but still a lot of resistance. An axle checker was used during the build. I could only advise to rebuild the machine and check every component manually before building and hooking up the next. I'm planning to ad a 'timing chart' to the instructions with a top down view of the construction with numbered timing sequence.- 465 replies
