  1. Look at the reviews of Sariel to help to make up your mind. I've bought two 42055 for parts when they were available at 50% discount but didn't find it appealing enough to actually build.
  2. @rskamen I don't have any of these issues when running on position 3, 4 or 5 of the train power supply. So I think you are running it too fast and thus too violent. Use the black 36t gear to fine tune the emptier at the top of the wheel when all other is finished. There is only one correct position but very easy to do that there. The small wheel stopper at that position is also important to make sure the wheel doesn't overshoot. Also make sure the whole wheel is mounted straight and not leaning forward or backward, adjustment is done with the bottom four wheels which should not be too tight on the wheel.
  3. I see this thread is from January and things have of course changed since then with Covid but still. My video channel has a lot of (inspiring) GBC's of which most I designed and for a lot I have created free instructions. But these are complex. I don't think there is a ready to use student program. For simple modules you could Google for 'LEGO GBC Workshop modules'. These are mostly just steppers or conveyor belts. PV productions has a few free designs from existing sets but also plans to buy. Building from existing sets is cheaper than sourcing single bricks. GBC Planet also has some info and free instructions. Getting LEGO balls is also an issue, these are very expensive. There are some non-LEGO alternatives but some are a bit smaller and/or heavier. If I would design a student program I would emphasize the fact that collaboration can create a circle of modules and promote teamwork as such. GBC is about timing and mechanics but it cannot be expected from beginners they can design own modules already so I would take existing modules and try to make one big circle of working machines. BTW, it's called LEGO as a brand and the bricks are called LEGO bricks and not Legos. Please don't teach Legos to your students as Legos does not exist :)
  4. @rskamen there are no plans for that one. The remote gets destroyed every two days on events despite limiter so I took it apart and re-used it for the Tensegrity.
  5. TLG redesigns the set without flaw, puts it on the market with a mea culpa, speculators of flawed set stuck with it. Win-win situation. Unfortunately mea culpa and TLG don't go well together so.... will not happen.
  6. Not promoting sales of this on a LEGO forum but just to let you know some AFOL designers get honored by Chinese manufacturers the right way. Free instructions still up for anyone who wants to build it and I will keep publishing free instructions.
  7. I've uploaded free instructions for the tram with color sensor to Rebrickable. Please note that parts are different from the inventory list for the tram with color sensor. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-29846/BrickPolis/union-72-amsterdam-tramstreetcar/#bi Check out my Tram Depot video to see the tram running with color sensor for automatic stops.
  8. I've published the free instructions on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-48037/BrickPolis/tram-depot/
  9. Thank you for the review. If driven backwards the drum unloads itself! With the drum indeed GBC comes to mind but only one end is open and you can't see any balls in the drum, not so attractive to use in a GBC therefore.
  10. They had contacted me on their own 3 months ago but have not heard from them after that. I confronted them with the set they had published without my permission and they followed up a few weeks later. I feel there is competition in China amongst set producers and they want to distinguish themselves by selling with approval from the designer.
  11. I'm happy to announce MouldKing has paid for the design and in this way has honored me as the original designer. I won't endorse non-LEGO on this forum but MouldKing has done the right thing. The money will flow 100% into new LEGO builds :)
  12. I've considered using parts of the sequential gear boxes (with their new parts) in the latest Technic models to achieve two speeds forward and reverse so I will look into that. I assume that is what you mean? But I'm not at that point yet, just building up the Container Transporter with real bricks and digitally so I can fully understand it. I have good hopes (otherwise I would not have started the build) :)
  13. @Courbet thank you for creating the instructions Laurent! It must have been a lot of work to reverse engineer it and make the instructions. I'm currently building the Container Transporter with the aim to replace the EV3 with a mechanical controlling system. Without EV3 it doesn't belong in this topic but just wanted to let y'all know :) I've seen the analogue version of Riku Katsumata. I admire it a lot but for me personally this version is too far away from the Akiyuki CT. If I can get it to work I will post in the Blakbird topic, if not I won't post anything :)
  14. @Faefrost Thank you. I'm planning on making a Seinfeld floor when the set is released. Also planning on making a building instruction and parts list per floor so builders have choice of floors.
  15. My new tram depot with diorama with city tracks, free instructions of the tram depot soon. I'll be publishing free instructions for future Town builds in this channel and on www.brickpolis.com
  16. Uploaded a new BI with improved ball catcher, thanks @OneMoreRobot
  17. Agree. Or collaborate to create missing instructions. I'm still very interested in the Ball Cleaner. Jeroen Stam has done a lot of excellent work on it, not sure if he is here on EB.
  18. Well, let's continue then, thanks @Jim A tremendous amount of work has gone into reverse engineering the non commercial modules. That what's got me started so again a thank you for everybody involved and especially @Blakbird
  19. @9v system great work Aron! I don't see how the wheels are build up with the 3mm hoses right? So the hoses are also missing from the parts list right? I also placed the 'viewer' in 45 degree angle for better readability by visitors as I noticed during events people did not see a counter in it until they bended their knees. If you agree I would like to have a look at the Studio file and see where I can make improvements?
  20. The drum will conceal the balls and with only one end open it doesn't seem very appealing to do something with that. This is more appealing to me and I'm working on a GBC version of this, it will be hard to create the blocks without gaps on the edges so balls keep flowing. I did several attempts but I ordered new type of parts of B&P that became recently available with which I hope I can make it work. Still it needs to be converted to something with an input and output.
  21. All instructions in the Blackbird thread were reverse engineered without trying to earn money on them. His latest GBC modules Akiyuki sells instructions for himself, no community work. If a recent module is not working properly he should be contacted for support to correct the commercially sold instructions so the module works properly or clear up any questions about them. Selling instructions also brings support responsibilities. These instructions, or part of the instructions, may not be copied according to Akiyuki' s terms, I don't see how we can contribute without reproducing (part) of the commercial instructions? So I don't see a purpose for this thread. Sorry, that's my opinion.
  22. It's a nice idea. If it's doable or not you only know after you have tried.
  23. In my experience Rebrickable is always too high with it's prices so probably cheaper but could be different in Singapore. Also look on LEGO Bricks & Pieces (also after a week) for availability and prices of parts and keep comparing with Bricklink.
  24. Surely you know a clone is a copy of the original so a clone is not own design. So when I talk about clone I talk about companies stealing designs to copy them 1 on 1 without permission. So all other companies that make their own design do not fall under that.
  25. I was approached by three or four different Chinese companies but it's hard to tell what company exactly as I'm being approached via social media, Flickr or Rebrickable. There's no company email address or email signature as in the real business world. They state they have interest in my designs and want my approval and name with the sets when they sell them, some want a two weeks notice on my designs so they can decide if they want it or not before I publish in the AFOL community. It seems there is competition going on between the clone manufacturers. They all want to do business and none of them takes it a step further and pay! Meanwhile I have found 3 of my designs being copied, two of them on Lepin World. They shamelessly take my designs AND video's and photo's. I can place links to three of them but won't as I don't want to endorse them in any way. It's not only Technic by the way but one is. The sets are offered without box, you just get a bag of fake bricks delivered at your home. After Lepin was shut down they have become smarter. They situate themselves as in between sellers of sets but not as manufacturer. They work with lots of manufacturers and it is unclear if they are owned by Lepin and that's how they want it. In China there is a lot more going on that we do not see, the Chinese have no problem with clones.
