Help on digital building
BubbaFit45531 replied to Kmuffin's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Overall, I like Lego Digital Designer. I recently used it to copy a MOC from one or two pictures online, did Export BOM to get parts list and used LDD to make PDF build instructions. I ordered the parts in the right colors from Bricks & Pieces. I also use LDD to make instructions for my MOCs so I can rebuild them if I take them apart. -
Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread

How far out do they have the Ninjago seasons planned? I'm rewatching the Master Chen season on demand and saw what looked like a character from Hands of Time.- 4,591 replies

Not looking forward to the musical. I hope they reconsider. I do like the outer space part.

[MOC] Judge Dredd Brick Built Figure

I like the legs & shoulder pads. -
I watched a YouTube video by LoreZyra(?) of LEGOLAND at Odaiba and it was interesting. He slowly shows what's on the shelves, the displays, etc. Also, recently I saw on Amazon Japan, under a search for Lego, they had these cheap sets where the boxes mimicked real Lego boxes and even used "Creator" on the box. I wonder if that was made in Japan or China. The prices for legit Lego seemed about the same as here.

What are some of the best prices you bought some good brand new Lego sets for and where did you buy it? I want to buy a few sets, but am waiting for a good price. I'm wondering how big of a discount I could see, especially on Black Friday. I know Toys R Us tends to have high prices and The Lego Store and Lego Online also have the higher prices among brick & mortar stores. A Kmart closing sale had 25% off, then 40% off, then 60% off, and it's a gamble because people might buy what you want while you're waiting for deeper discounts. Amazon as seller sometimes has good prices, but the prices change so fast.

General Questions about LEGO Ninjago
BubbaFit45531 replied to VaderFan2187's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm not saying 9448 Samurai X mech was crap, but it is a few years old and there's always some Master Builder who takes the newest parts (like Nexo Knights Battle Suit/Mr. Freeze cockpit) and makes something nicer than official stuff.- 16 replies

I like Ninjago for: 1) The Power Rangers like colors, the different ninja hoods and costumes. 2) The catchy song and masterful instrumental background music. 3) Jay's crazy over the top overreactions. 4) Random goofiness like bowl cut Lloyd on the ship training, stepping on some broom or something and it pops up and knocks him down, Jay in Rebooted season episode 1, I think, being weird and Zane kicking him in the butt to "reset" Jay. 5) The solid stories and characters that don't seem like mindless fluff meant for preschool kiddies. 6) The mechs. I have yet to buy a Ninjago set not counting Lego Dimensions. I kick myself for passing on a closing sale $20 Salvage MEC set only to find it and other sets were wiped out quick.

I much prefer more like the brick built Giant-Man/Ant-Man jumbo minifigure from Airport Battle than some weird blocky BrickHeadz.

Certain Fun Packs are getting hard to find in stores and online, so if you want to start Lego Dimensions, you should probably take advantage of whatever upcoming sales there might be and check a wikia to see which characters have the abilities you want. Toys R Us has been the stingiest with sales, so they have more of a selection than elsewhere, but at higher prices. I'm thinking if Lego wanted to help sell off the remaining character packs, they could just do a software update to give out new abilities to characters that aren't selling well.

I've been thinking I want to make some sort of rail transit system myself and never had a Lego train set ever.

General Questions about LEGO Ninjago
BubbaFit45531 replied to VaderFan2187's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Not a question, but a commentary: A Kmart here is having a store closing sale. Saw Salvage M.E.C. marked down 60% off to probably around $20. They had one left. Didn't buy it, thinking I'll think about it and maybe come back later. Came back days later and no Ninjago was left. Only things left were a ton of the same Chima, constraction Star Wars, and barely any Lego left. The availability with these sales is very unpredictable. Now, I'm hoping the upcoming sets will have a nice Ninjago mech with modern parts. Also, tried to order some Ninjago heads to turn old generic blue, red, white, black minifigures into the ninjas, but couldn't find any Cole, Lloyd, Zane, Kai heads in stock using the element numbers I'm aware of.- 16 replies

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
BubbaFit45531 replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'd like to know if the plush Ninjago jumbo figures are machine washable. Also, since Samurai X mech plays a big role in HoT, I wonder if they'll release a newer Samurai X mech set. -
Like I said before, weigh the returns and compare the tainted boxes weight against the weight of fresh boxes I suspect they already have in the computer for point of sale self checkout scales. Target, Walmart, Home Depot all ask you if you brought your own reusable bag and to weigh it prior to scanning items. It's quick and simple and I'm certain not all thieves go through the trouble of weight substitution for stuff they steal. If they cared about their customers, they'd put some thought and effort into it. They already take down people's ID when they return something. Just put a bit more thought into the process to stop the thieves.

Which factory did your LEGO set come from?

I noticed the other day a Lego listing on Amazon identified country of origin as Mexico. I'm glad they did and didn't notice them doing that before. -

This type of indifference by stores would make me not want to buy anything from them ever again. I think it boils down to the employees not caring about doing their jobs competently and just going through the motions and collecting their paychecks. We're talking about teenagers and people who don't have a lot of education.
