The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
BubbaFit45531 replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Is the Batman Phantom Zone polybag a Target exclusive? I didn't see any today, but saw boxes of Lego shipping cases ready to be unboxed and put on shelves. I came back later and those were probably Star Wars restocks. -
I watched a bunch of nice HD YouTube videos of a guy in Japan giving tours of the Odaiba Lego Store and LEGOLAND. There was a room with a city layout with a giant Tokyo Tower and a giant Tokyo Skytree and various other landmark buildings like the Fuji TV building, Tokyo Station. Does Lego ever make available instructions and parts lists for these showcase creations? One day I would like to build one of these landmarks in mini figure scale. Even a smaller scale Tokyo Tower would be nice if I could find instructions and parts lists.

LEGO Dimensions Physical Brick Discussion

I read people post that their defective Marceline NFC tags worked after the software update patch before they received replacement NFC tags from the mail. I bought mine from Toys R Us a few days ago and it worked. Also, when did Lego start making dual molded parts in multiple colors? Wow! Marceline's red boots might be dual molded rather than painted, unless dipped in paint. They could be used for darker Spider-Man legs.- 527 replies

I'd love a South Park Lego Dimensions, but they'd probably need new molds for short stubby mini figures and round heads.

Mine has those black "daleks" and white curved corners, but never seen those nice light green parts. Sand green? I've never seen any really nice parts on the wall.

Your first set costing over $100
BubbaFit45531 replied to BubbaFit45531's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When I looked into Lego Dimensions, the starter packs were like $89. I'm glad I waited to see if Black Friday sales prices would come back and got mine for $29. I ended up spending $54 on mini figure Fun Packs... so far. -
TV show about LEGO store opening
BubbaFit45531 replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd love to watch this if it ends up on YouTube. I watched some YouTube vids on factory tours and How It's Made. I'm curious if they all wear gloves when touching the bricks and if people or machines fill each plastic bag for each set. In one vid, they commented about not getting skin oils on the bricks and I think they separated those for recycling. So far, I'm finding it's common to get a few extra pieces of the smaller pieces. I saw yesterday on Twitter someone complaining about an expensive set missing 50% of the pieces. -
I thought the Lego website lets you order specific pieces a lot cheaper than $3 per part. Is that piece not available yet there?

Plano 23730-05 Stowaway with Adjustable Dividers Check out the reviews and reviewer photos of this on Amazon from a Lego user. I also have this and sorted my parts by color with Basic blocks separate from plates separate from stud direction change pieces separate from mini figure weapons, etc. separate from hinges and joints separate from slopes. In order to build something, I need to have an idea how many of each part I have. Later, I might keep large plates or Basic blocks in the pick-a-brick large cups. I'm planning to buy another Plano for Lego Dimensions vehicles (Cyberman's tall vehicle robot fits without removing NFC tag stand). Sterilite 3 drawer plastic organizers from Walmart are also nice to use and they seem stackable. For tiny 1x1 pieces and Technics style axles, etc., I'm using Taco Bell polypropylene cheesy potato containers or plastic take out sauce mini containers with lids. The plastic mini cups Sam's Club uses for food samples are also nice and relatively deep. I'm also on the lookout for an Iris modular stacking box for finished sets big enough for Blue Power Jet.

Do you ever have that moment...

Actually, Amazon has a reviewer for the Plano box that uses it for Lego and included photos and said it fits Lego Dimension mini figures and vehicles. -

Plano 23730-05 Stowaway with Adjustable Dividers is good to keep parts/colors separate. It has many customizable plastic dividers and is deep enough to probably fit Gandalf and his tall hat. Ideally, I want to consolidate the bulk of my Lego into a large Iris polypropylene modular stacking box. -
What was it and what was your motivation? I have yet to see a Lego set costing over $100 where the temptation was too great to resist.
-
Any more fighter jets? Blue Power Jet needs an archnemesis.

Yeah, I can't find the boxes for Delivery Center and Castle Battering Ram and I suspect my Star Wars mini figures (yellow faces) are there, along with a smaller green plate. -
How Many Minifigs do you own?
BubbaFit45531 replied to Millacol88's topic in General LEGO Discussion
47 10 are for Lego Dimensions 4 Star Wars are missing in action I turned an old 50ct DVD-R spindle into a stand for at least 12 mini figures, and a 100ct spindle for maybe 24 capacity or 16 capacity Lego Dimensions. [UPDATE: Drilled a 5/32 hole thru the DVD-R spindle rod, two 5/32 holes in a thick bottled water cap, and used that to support the 2nd level with a piece of scrap plastic model sprue instead of using 1x4 bricks to make a support column.] I kinda want to build my own double-sided frame out of Lexan sheets. I might look into a Plano divided case. I want to turn the Dr. Who Cyberman into Tony Stark or silver Ironman. -
Thanks for the info. I'd rather have glow in the dark than glow in black light.
-
What's the Lego history with glow in the dark? Are all Lego element pieces available in glow in the dark? Was there ever a vehicle or structure entirely glow in the dark? I thought I read somewhere that suggested even transparent pieces are glow in the dark, but I never tested it out yet. I'm interested in this after seeing the Batman vs. Superman Clash of the Heroes small box has Batman with a glow in the dark head.

I go for something that looks great like 31039 Creator Blue Power Jet, and some Lego Dimensions mini figure characters I like and smaller sets with my favorite DC/Marvel/Star Wars mini figure characters. It's rare that a big set will motivate me to buy it... and figure out where to put it.

Lego minifigs collectables
BubbaFit45531 replied to frikandeloorlog's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I would buy the Batman Series if it had mostly normal looking characters rather than bizarre alternate look characters. I would buy a series featuring just DC and Marvel or Star Wars. -
I recently dug up most of my Lego, which were stored in a large polypropylene tub which was in a tied plastic trashbag kept in top closet shelf (hot air rises?). A few of the bricks that were stuck to tires melted a bit to take on the imprint of the tires, but the tires didn't seem melted at all. Some of the bricks had a sort of residue that didn't come off from washing with soap alone, but needed to be wiped off with paper towel. Going forward, for tiny pieces, I'm keeping them in polypropylene Taco Bell cheesy potatoes containers with one triangular hole cut into the top lid in case gases need to escape. Some of the gray and white oldest pieces were discolored. Most of it was in pretty good condition.

Which Themes Deserve a Reboot?
BubbaFit45531 replied to Lancethecat's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Blacktron, Futuron, Castle had me very interested as a kid. I can't remember if I'm familiar with some Blacktron sets from having bought and built them or from staring at them so frequently. If I did buy them, I don't know where they are. The black and yellow color scheme and the astronaut helmets with visors was very appealing.- 438 replies

I haven't built it yet, but 31039 Blue Power Jet is the finest official Lego fighter jet set I've ever seen. 5892 Sonic Boom is also nice.

After not touching Lego in many years, bought a large cup of pick-a-bricks to get parts to build a non-toy related stand. Saw many new elements and mini figures. Bought a few polybags and small boxed sets to get a few DC and Marvel characters. Suddenly developed Lego mini figure fever. Bought the 31039 Blue Power Jet (F-35 lookalike), and need to select an appropriate pilot for the cockpit. Not wanting the mini figures to be exposed to dust, etc., looked into mini figure display stands. Was surprised by how expensive the display cases are. I'd rather spend that money on more sets or mini figures instead. I was going to try to use a 6x12 plate to mount 4 mini figures on each side and put a plastic cup over it. Instead, I came up with this: DIY Lego mini figure stand made out of empty DVD-R 100ct spindle. It had a blank black plastic disc, so I'm using that as the platform for the 2nd level, which is supported by a square column (9 brick height) made of 1x4 bricks and 1x6 or 1x8 bricks at the top and 2x2 bottom slope bricks. On the first level, I can fit 3 mini figures on a 2x6 plate and have 12 figures on the bottom level. I'm guessing I can fit 20 figures on the 2nd level. The bad thing is the clear spindle cover seems to be polypropylene, so not as see thru clear. The good thing is it's stackable, didn't cost extra money, didn't require drilling any holes. If I can reduce the width of the support column or eliminate the need for it, I can fit more figures on the bottom level.
