When I was a kid, I loved the "Blizzard Gunner" from the anime series Dougram. I've never had the model kit, but it remained to be one of my favorite mecha/battle armor designs. A few weeks ago I decided to build a Neo Blacktron version of the Blizzard Gunner. C & C welcome.

The new colonial marines are ready. I've build the entire squad from the movie (or two squads, to be precise). Apone: Hudson: Hicks: Frost: Dietrich: Wierzbowski: Crowe: All the movie marines are $17 each. I'll add the 2 smartgunners to the group as soon as they are ready. -

I'm working on my newest group of colonial marines right now. Only the two smartgunners aren't there yet, but I will do them in the next few days. You see my interpretations of the entire movie squad with all the prominent characters like Hicks, Hudson and Apone. I hope you like them. I love the new Frost. It seems I have found a fitting head for him finally. I wonder if I should do a skin color group in the future. Apone, Hicks and Frost: Wierzbowski, Dietrich, Hudson and Crowe: -

Wow, that is very close indeed. I really think the M240 has been the inspiration for this. Thanks very much, eldahctor. I think I'll sculpt my own version, but I don't think it will turn out nicer than this one. I'm sure I will follow this method in the end: Trying own version - throwing it against the wall - trying again - wall - getting angry - buying Flamespitter online. ^^ -

Thanks for your suggestions, krystalKING. Your idea to use a Brickarms M16 is good. I think the barrel needs to be sculpted. @Missing Link: Thanks! Catsys version looks fantastic. There is so much detail, it's amazing. I think it might be a little big, but I think it's very hard to make it even smaller. That list of the parts used might be helpful. -

Thanks very much for your feedback, Missing Brick! You should receive Vasquez and Apone very soon. I hope you will like them too. I'm so looking forward to see your APC with the figures. I'm in the process right now of making some more prominent marines from the movie. I hope the armors and helmets will be ready by the time I receive the bricklink orders. It seems I have found a fitting head for Frost finally. I can't wait to see one of these on a Frost body. I still need a good flamethrower for the marines. Does someone of you know a third party weapon that comes very close to this: Maybe I will do an experiment with the new CMF paintball gun, if I can't find anything better. -
I like your blacktron army very much, Henchmen4hire. Good job on painting the minifigure pieces. The galaxy patrol armor in black is a great idea for blacktron. Maybe I'll try that to, but I think I will make a mold of the armor and cast it, because I don't want my galaxy patrol guys to be incomplete. I love blacktron figures with those Epaulettes/shoulder pieces. I only wish they would not be so expensive on bricklink. Maybe I need to cast those too. Your vehicle designs are very cool too. My favorite is the rail gun truck. I'm looking forward to see this beast in reality. Keep up the good work. When everything is ready, our blacktron troops should unite to rule the galaxy.

Hicks, Hudson and Dietrich are some kind of colonial marine 2.0. Chest armor, shoulder lamp and helmet with soft cover are new parts. If I build new marines they will all feature these new parts in the future. That's why I reduce the price of the 7 older type marines. Also I changed the prices from Euros to US$, because most of the inquirys I get are not from europe. Available right now 05/2013: 7 Generic colonial marines 1.0: 13,95 Euro $14 each 1 Corporal Hicks: $17 sold 1 Private Hudson: $17 sold 1 Private Dietrich: $17 sold 1 Vasquez (Smartgunner): $20 sold Update 05.31.13: Only the gereric marines are still available. The prominent movie characters are sold out right now. I start my work on a new wave. Some more of the movie characters will be available in 1-2 weeks. Type 1 Marines: -

It was the same with me, B37TBOXX5. There was always Aliens on my little TV screen while I was building Marines, APCs and Dropships. I think this movie inspired me more than any other - with the exception of Star Wars maybe. I would post some pictures of the marines minifigures I build as a kid, but they are simply to bad. Thanks very much for your feedback. -

Thanks for your feedback! Please post some links to your APC and Dropship when they're finished, Sharkyla. I'd love to see them. I really need an APC for myself, but I don't have the bricks I would need. I would build it in light or dark blueish grey, but my selection of parts in these colors is to bad. -

Yup, the scale is really a problem. I'm working on headsets/targeting sights for the smartgunners right now. They're so flimsy, it's making me mad. Maybe my stuff is to realistic. I should ask myself more often: How would Lego Designers solve this? If I can help you with casting parts or making molds, just let me know. -

I did some new versions of Apone, Hicks, Hudson and Dietrich. Also a new motion tracker for them is in the works. I hope you like them. Feedback is very welcome. Private Hudson Private Dietrich Corporal Hicks Seargent Apone -
Please excuse my stupid question, but is it confirmed that Ninjago will continue in 2014 at all?
-
I saw the first two episodes of the show just yesterday and I was really shocked how bad they are. I loved the Ninjago show and thought Chima would be on the same level, but the show is somewhere between Ninjago and Teletubies. Weird story, boring main characters, bad voice acting, pacing etc. I'll watch it with my girlfriends 5year old son, because it might be okay for this age group, but if you're older than 7-8 you can't overlook it's flaws. I thought Chima would be a story of good vs. evil. But the wolves, ravens and crocodiles aren't badguys. They act like small kids. They are cute and clumsy and stupid, but no real bad guys. The good guys aren't good either. Lavall is boring, selfish and very 2-dimensional. He's the hero from the start, wins every fight or race. There is no potential to grow. I loved the toyline from the first glimse. The figures and vehicles are great designs and I think Chima might be one of the best lines TLG has ever done. The designs are so colorful, inspiring and full of fantasy, but this show is simply stupid. I hope the next episodes will be much better. They need to be better.

Would it make you feel better if you would send me one of your winzars? I'm looking forward to your review. The Pack Tracker is my favorite Chima set so far. I think I'll buy it very soon. Very curious what you think about it. By the way: I'm suprised there aren't any comments about the new show here? Or have I just overlooked them? I've seen the first episode and... I didn't like it very much. I loved the Ninjago show and I expected the Legends of chima show to be very similar to it in terms of design, story etc. But I feel disapointed about it. The animations are great and from the technical perspective it looks much better than Ninjago, but I think thats the only positive thing I can say about it. The story is a little confusing and not very inspired. The voice acting could be much better and there isn't a real introcution for any of the vehicles. The great vehicles are always in the background and none of them has a prominent role. But the fact I hate the most is: This show seems to be made for really small kids. If you're older than 7, Ninjago might be the much better show for you. I hope the next episode will be much better.

I already did a motion tracker and the Drop ship pilots Ferro and Spunkmeyer. But I'm not satisfied with the motion tracker. Maybe I should do an improved version. -

Thanks very much for your feedback, slopemodified. I'm happy the marines arrived savely in australia. Well, the parts are made of Resin, so they are a little more fragile than legos ABS Plastic parts. But don't worry, they are not that fragile. If they should fall from your desk, I would'nt worry about them. The marine helmets, marine armors and weapons won't break easily. I've put some metal parts from paper clips into the shoulder lamps and smartguns to make them stronger. The only very fragile parts might be the eye pieces and headsets of the smartgunners. Yours are one of a kind and I'm still looking for a perfect, stronger solution for these parts. All the other parts are pretty strong. And if you ever should need some replacement parts - just contact me. Next project? Hmmm - I don't know. What do you wish for? Maybe there will be some kind of marine 2.0 with different details and some new parts to mix with the first version to get some more indiviuality. But other than that, project colonial marines is pretty much completet for me. But I'm very open for suggestions. -
I love it. Beautiful little microscale ship.

My favorite enemies for Galaxy Squad would be Blacktron, of course. My favorite Lego sets for 2013 are for Ninja turtles and Galaxy Squad. But both aren't available in Germany. I always thought Mr. Google would know the answer to every question. But it seems impossible to find out if or when those lines will see a release in my country. I don't understand why TLG is doing this. Galaxy squad seems to be a great Space theme and the turtles have a great fanbase over here too. Also the TMNT Cartoon airs on germanys nikelodeon channel. So I can't understand why those toys aren't available.

Howdy! It took me a few weeks, but now I got 10 brand new colonial marines available. These are build, painted, ready for shipping and to protect your home from xenomorphs. Also I have reworked my smartgunner parts and made a new set of molds for them. It's the first time I can offer a Vasquez Smartgunner custom figure here in the thread. As you can see on the pics Vasquez gear is removable, just like the Marines gear. Available 03/2013: 10 colonial marines Custom figures - 13,95 Euro each 1 Smartgunner "Vasquez" - 15,95 Euro -

Thanks very much for your feedback, Bobskink. I used Siliconrubber for the molds and 5-Min-Epoxy for casting. It works quite good, but it's an awful lot of work. I'm in the process right now of making 10 new marines and it almost takes a week to complete those. Biggest problem with my method are the air bubbles in the molds. I try to eliminate those as good as possible by putting the epoxy into the mold with a thin brush. Also I use small pieces of paperclips and put those into the molds to make the shoulder lamps and smartguns stronger. I love your Alien and Predator figures. Your sculpting skills are impressive. Which sculpting material did you use? I haven't done any aliens or predators yet, but I would love to do that down the road. I wish we could work together. It would be so great to have a Lego aliens group. We could share ideas, casted parts, sculpted pieces and building instructions for aliens vehicles. -
