For me 7065 http://www.brickset....ail/?Set=7065-1 was one of the worst sets of the last few years. I think it was designed to look big and impressive. But other than it's size, there is nothing impressive about it. For a real mothership, it's much to small with very little inside space. There is not much play value, because there is little you can do with it. No removable smaller ships, no removable ground vehicles, no drones, no gunner stations, no lab, no prisons - nothing. It's a boring and uninspired UFO design.

I think you're right. There are so many anouncements for 2013 sets right now, but still no Galaxy Squad. I don't get it. What I don't understand is, Alien conquest is gone. The sets are on sale or long gone in most stores, so summer 2013 would be a long wait for a new Space line.

I saw the first three episodes of the new cartoon and I really liked it. So I hope the Lego line will be sucessful with the kids. I think the turtles minifigures are well done. The headprints are nice. The arms look a little naked without any printings. What I don't like is the design of the new turtles van. That thing is really ugly. Like many other fans, I would love to collect the 4 turtles minifigures, Shredder and maybe a few foot soldiers. But I'm sure I would have to spend at least €100 for 2 or 3 different sets to get at least the 4 turtles. Not sure about that. I hope some of the other sets will be better. I wouldn't buy this one for $60 because of the ugly vehicles.

Yeah, I hope for exactly the same. Some updated, modern astronauts with classic space logo on their chest would be great. I would'nt mind even an orange or lime version. I liked the style of CMF Space girl very much. I think this new line sounds very good. Could be a fun line. And I'm okay with it if we don't see any space marines. I got 10 of the CMF versions. Building some nice ships and ground vehicles for it would'nt be a problem. I don't need an offical Lego line for that.

Thats one point of view. But on the other side, this helmet is available only in black, dark bluish grey, white, pink and this funny kind of ADU blue. I would love to see this helmet in more colors. Esspecially in red, blue and green for Neo Classic Space MOCs. The newest description reminds me of ninjago. A few heroes, each in his inviduell color and his vehicle in the same color. Maybe this theme will be closer to the Space Girl of the CMF line than to the galaxy patrol marine. About the Galaxy patrol armor: Let's not forget this was done for Lex Luther from the super heroes line. So maybe this armor was more of a Lex Luther recycling in the CMF line than an indication of a new space theme.

Thanks for your question, Apollo. No, I think I will never build a large neo blacktron base - and it must be large if it should be capable of housing some of the vehicles. I simply don't have the space for something like this. My shelves here are occupied with some classic space, Exo Force and lots of Neo Blacktron MOCs and I have no idea where to display a large playset or base. About the helmets: I loved the design of these power miner helmets from the first moment. But I wanted them in black, which isn't available from lego. So I've made a mold and casted them, which is an awful lot of work. I think the silver power miners version would be to bright for my Neo Blacktron baddies. I prefer them in black. But thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks very much, guys.

The set names sound indeed like some kind of Space Marines vs. Insectoid race. That doesn't match with the info that it would be a childish, colorful "agents in space" line. I wonder who is right. The set names sound great. I absolutely hate Starship troopers but I'm sure Legos line will be much better and more kid friendly.

The funny thing is, I'm building exactly the MOCs right now, that I wanted when I was about 11-12 years old. My favorite vehicle in the classic Blacktron days was the alienator. It was one of a few vehicles that had legs - not wheels, not thrusters. I always wanted mechas and spider-like crawling tanks for blacktron. It's somehow strange that I realized these visions I had about blacktron when I was a kid, more than 20 years later. But compared to the 80s, we really have better bricks right now. Articulation joints, stylish wedges and cool stickers. None of those vehicles would have been possible in the 80s. It's so much fun to experiment with all those new bricks and building techniques.

Yeeeah - feedback! Thanks very much for your comments! I was starting to think my MOCs get boring. It's great that you like the scarab crawler. I've received little to none positive feedback for it.

I've added some new MOCs to my MOCPages site. It's: Scarab Crawler Elite Raven - Mech Tyrant - Mobile Weapons platform You can see more pics of them here: http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/94210 Criticism and comments are very welcome. Thanks!

I grew up with classic space, but even as a child I thought it was a little boring. Peaceful space explorations, grinning faces, no aliens, no enemys of any kind in sight. I thought it was a lot more interesting after blacktron showed up. So I have no problems with a little more action oriented line. A little less peaceful space exploration and a little more Agents is fine with me. But we have to wait and see.

I thought about building a tank since the start of my Neo Blacktron line. I played with many ideas in my mind, collected the parts and after some weeks of building, it is ready for posting now. :-) Neo Blacktron - Zeus - Command Tank Its a mobile command center. The mysterious leader of Blacktron himself uses this tank to observe ground operations. Zeus is equipped with a twin-barreled main gun and a smaller laser gun. It offers a high grade of protection for the crew and has many devices on board for obervation, data collecting and processing and and also sensor jamming. Zeus role in ground operations is mostly very passive. It stays in the background, jamming the enemy sensors and oberserves the battle. But if it's nessesary, Zeus is an effective fighter.

Okay, my last entry for this contest is ready for posting. Its a mobile command center for my neo blacktron troops. The mysterious leader of Blacktron himself uses this command tank to observe ground operations. Zeus - so is the name of the tank - is equipped with a twin-barreled main gun and a smaller laser gun. It offers a high grade of protection for the crew and has many decices on board for obervation, data collecting and processing and sensor jamming. you can see a few more pics here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/340648

Well, one guy who's seen the pics says it reminds him of classic space, the other one says it's childish and colorful like racers. It's funny how different those opinions are. I have to say, I trust TLG. The last "Space line" Alien conquest was good, Space Police III was great. So I think the next line won't be so bad. If this new line will see a release early 2013, maybe it won't take long until the first pictures show up.

I'm most curious about those new space figures. Maybe the Collectible minifigures showed a direction in which these will go. I loved those astronauts. The new ones might be very similar, with the new style helmet and space suits in the classic colors. It seems the CMF line is a method of testing the waters. Like with all the classic movie monsters in the CMF line and now we got monster fighters.

This is the part that exites me the most. There are so many MOC Builders around that do Neo-Classic Space MOCs, it would be great if TLG would go back to the roots themself. I imagine some red, white, yellow, blue and black astronauts, with the Alien conquest helmets. I wonder what the color scheme for the vehicles would be? I hope this rumor is true. Sounds great!

I like your MOCs very much. Small, well designed and cute in a LEGOish way, just like some of the offical sets. Keep up the good work.
-
Hmmm - are you not familiar with Blacktron 1, Si-MOCs? Thats a fantastic Blacktron MOC, Peter de Yeule. It looks very modern, dangerous and also very vintage at the same time. You captured the classic Color-scheme perfectly. I see a lot of Blacktron 1 MOCs with to much yellow in it. But your models has just some small stripes of yellow, which matches the classic scheme perfectly.
-
Fantastic work, XandOr! I love it! Your MOC is so versatile and good articulated. I look at it and instantly want to play with it. ^^ Also the colors and the design are very well done.
-
The whole series of pics is labeled white, just because it was my first shooting with a white background. I've got to rename the pics.
-
Xandor explained it perfectly, BrickCommander. Rench was the inspiration for the whole line and the color scheme. Thats why this guy is my avatar. Here is what I've explained in this thread: There is also one more fact that isn't in the explaination yet. I wanted to remove white and yellow, because I wanted my line to be more dark and sinister than Blacktron I and II were. I love those two original lines, but I didn't want to repeat them. @DraikNova: I'm glad you like the new troopers. I thought a long time about something I could do with those CMF Space Villain torsos. These infantry troopers is what I finally came up with. The helmet isn't available in black from lego, so I casted it. Here are some better pics of them:

Even Blacktron II was labeled "Blacktron" and it had now yellow in it. And that was an original Lego theme. I think there should be no rules in MOCing. It's my own interpretation how a neo blacktron line should look like. If you don't like it - fine, just do your own interpretation. I agree with you. It's just that way, because it is based on Exo Force Claw Crusher. I'm not a big fan of this mech anymore. Just wait until you see my next one. I'm looking forward to see your pics.

Hey guys! I got some updates to my Neo Blacktron Line. Barricade - Light Attack Walker Barricade is a two legged attack walker, heavily armed with a frontal gatling gun. There is space for one operator in the cockpit: Hooligan - Infantry Support Unit A mecha suit, designed for attacking ground targets. It is based on the Lego Exo Force Model Claw Chrusher. Also I've uploaded some new pictures, with white background on my MOC Pages site: http://www.mocpages.com/mocs.php?id=94210 like

I'm for Roboforce vs....hm....your mother? Maybe UFO would be a good opponent.
