  1. Hi I was wondering if The Lego Group have ever included duplo elements in a Lego Set, or lego elements in a Duplo set I'm aware that they are somewhat compatible and could be used for certain things which Lego cannot do, such as Shape. Im also thinking about using the Duplo quarter Pipe elements (two kinds) but so the button is flush with Lego tiles to create a an alien HQ based off of a video game level. The Lego quarter pipes (two kinds) are either too big. or the buttom cannot be made flush with a tile or anything else. Regards, Snipe
  2. Nice to see you have the rare marbled bricks there! What is that blue and green brick on the bottom right? I once made a color chartlike this but only had the basic colors, I once stole a tan 2X4 thinking It was something specical but later realized it was a common color. As for disliking colors, I dont really have any especically that more technic parts are available in black now such This. My favourite colors are actually the transparent onces because they look so cool Lego without the context of a model looks good in any color
  3. Now he's a really angry warriour.
  4. Hi, I was browsing through the bricklink catalog when I suddenly came accross a part I had not seen in the 'Tiles' section before, and was wwondering if THIS part compatible with standard LEGO dimentions and is it the same height as a regular LEGO tile? looks like a really useful part to have since it does not have the recess on the bottom which means the walls flush with any brick under it which looks much better. It is also available in a veriety of colors. Can anybody take a photo of the cluch side so I can take a peek? Regards, Snipe
  5. Can you perhaps do a 5x5x4 (5 long 5 wide and 4 tall (4 tall in bricks) slope corner piece that would go in here: I need this for my alien base, I'd need 10 of the corner pieces to make it the ramps look complete
  6. Could you not swap it with one in the model that doesnt need the extra slack so put the chewed one where this would go and put the longer one where the chewed one was , or cut it down if its really long. Maybe it would mean removing one of the tube holder pieces but no big deal
  7. I Think this is a good idea, how do the two spools counter rotate?
  8. I don't seem to recall having any really hard moments, I have made mistakes by rushing, and the gearbox for the 42038 artic truck looked quite complex, however I was guiding somebody how to assemble it at the time, so wasnt fully concentrating, it was the connectors really not the gears themselves. Infact the most mind boggling experiece I have had was making gearboxes, I used to get it wrong constantly and wonder why it wasnt driving a desited gear or axle, or even jamming, but now I think I have got it sussed. Funny because everybody else seems to find it easy :S yet I can come up with complex mechanisms where as others may struggle with that. Also I cannot seem to design a whole MOC, I can MOD an existing set to a degree as long as I dont overcomplicate it, and I can make small mechanisms such as gearboxes, spring loading mechanisms+triggers, steering and drive units, etc
  9. I think they could have made it RC like the 8043 excavator as there is plenty of space in the body IR recievers and an extra couple of motors for drive and motor based steering, while the other motor handles the motorised functions but I guess we can MOD it.
  10. I dont think this set mimics any real crane but rather is designed to be a generic lego crane, even despite its large size.
  11. Just got home with mine from The Lego Shop, Metrocentre, Gateshead. I got the arocs, blue crane. fire plane, and the ferrari f40. I'm not allowed to open them till the 10th tho
  12. Just the grey part could be used as a good gear rack, since it is 14L but has different holes to enumerate several gear rack sizes. Many lego parts have been used creativley, especically in creator/system MOCS This is probably not going to be an exception
  13. Getting mine on the 10th of August, + the 42042 and 42040!!
  14. Even though its been a while since the last update, its best not to think about it because then it will seem to take even longer. Yes the fact that the M motor is still not in LDD sucks.
  15. I wonder if the wheels from the 8448 super street sensation or the 8462 Tow Truck will work OK with the arocs and not get caught on any of the chassis or bodywork.
  16. That is a good idea for space saving however I think it will be a bad idea using pneumatics for the outriggers as they will need to be synchronized and you cant really do that because of differing air pressures in each cylender. You can more accuratley control LA's and are probably stronger
  17. I am planning on making the outiggers like in the mobile crane MK 2 (42009). instead of adding an extra function to the gearbox im having the motors axle driving the pnumatic pump however it can still use the gearbox, this gives an extra function for the second stage of the outriggers. Lime = 12 Tooth Gears (for outrigger gear racks) Light Grey = 16 Tooth Mesh Gear Dark Grey = 16 Tooth Idler Gear Red = Selection Clutches. Black = Axles The top output of clutch A is meshed with that lime gear and it connects to the other lime gear using two 8 tooth gears, because the lime gears cannot be offset and also must rotate in opposite directions and at the same speed./ The bottom output of clutch B has a gear on top of it which has been removed for clarity, this is the shaft that runs directly above the L motor.
  18. Maybe add a bar so the pin doesn't break, or replace it with an axle. Cool test though
  19. Ah ya beat me. to it Time ro run to argos now! Thanks for the info
  20. I have seen them for sale but I dont trust the website, it looks like a legitimate website but you never know these days, so Im just gonna wait till august and get it from argos/fenwicks/the lego shop rather than taking a risk just to get it slightly earlier. it looks too good to be true especically with FREE UK Delivery and at a low cost. Websites: http://www.thehut.com/toys-lego/lego-technic-mercedes-benz-arocs-3245-42043/11070208.html?utm_source=googleprod&utm_medium=gp&utm_campaign=gp_toys&affil=thggps&switchcurrency=USD&shippingcountry=US http://www.zavvi.com/toys-lego/lego-technic-mercedes-benz-arocs-3245-42043/11070208.html?utm_source=googleprod&utm_medium=gp&utm_campaign=gp_toys&affil=thggps&switchcurrency=USD&shippingcountry=US I think maybe the two websites are really just from the same company.
  21. Hi Can anybody think of a way to seperate these subparts in LDD? I have tried using the rotation tool trick but it did not work , maybe it was me but feel free to ry again / trysomething else. The one I have in real life from the hose brick is without the hollow stud on the end: - The black parts are useful for decoration. I have seperated them in real life easily. Regards, Snipe
