  1. The trouble is, how can we tell that someone didn't start designing it before the challenge commenced. I think a normal challenge would be better but the twist is that contestants are grouped together at random, so they have to work together in a team, and there is several teams.
  2. Note: that the hockey spring part can break very easily. I have 3 and one is broke
  3. Because of realism, even the land rover has 7 speeds and can have paddle shifters as an optional extra. Yes but we have low friction gears, stronger diffs and CV joints now, as well as better gearbox parts and more alternating hole beams. So it should be possible to make a smaller, simpler setup. Also if LEGO never tried to be ambitious, then we would have very boring sets and no new parts, but LEGO is capable of it so why not do it (even if it means making a new part)
  4. If lego do a new 4x4 it must be better than the already excellant 42110. like, working paddle shifters, engine, at least 6 speed gearbox, adjustable ride height, locking diffs, etc etc.
  5. Sensational! LEGO isn't a cheap hobby, but it is more than just a toy, and this model proves that without question. I found the auto revving hilarious also 🤣, thats what a mazda 787B does because its such a beast 😃
  6. Yeah, other than the new tyres , wheel covers, and spoiler panels, I have the parts to build this set (without stickers) so I’m not sure why I would buy it.
  7. I wish LEGO would just make a C+ upgrade pack like they did with power functions, and just have easy optional instructions on how to motorise the set. It would apply no non technic sets too. They sort of did that with the first roller coaster set but with powered up (i.e made a designated spot which was obviously intended to hold a motor unit) so I think they can do it with C+. It was a good way to "beast up" a *maybe* slightly boring set, for example the 42038 arctic truck.
  8. Glad its a koenigseggseggseggsegg, i hope we get a pagani in 2 years and a mclaren in 4 years
  9. He can tell because he designed the set
  10. Maybe the just used the new 9L half beam with 3 pinholes (from the Orient express train) left hole for left wheel, right hole for right wheel, and the centre hole is conneceted to a 2L beam to steer it (so no toothed gear rack) Those would make good leaf springs anyhow since they are made of a bendy plastic
  11. I think this purple part is the new connector that comes in set 42168 but in purple, I dont think its a 3x5 alternating hole beam nor do i think its a 1 x 3 x 19 girder frame. Maybe a purple koenigsegg?
  12. Yeah this forum needs an overhaul because Ive had too many bugs when making posts and have lost too much work I know that flex axle probably is just teal, but it looks like it has too much blue in it to be teal, so im confused.
  13. Yeah I can't wait for the 787B, thats my fav racing car of all time and theres only ever been small lego MOCs of it. I would imagine getting the decals/libery would be very hard to do in LEGO since there is a lot of diagonal lines on the real car where it goes between green and orange. But also the shape of the body work will make that extra challenging to relicate in LEGO so I'm geussing this CADA set will have a lot of prints/stickers.
  14. Are those flexi axles in dark turquoise (aka teal)? it looks different to normal dark turquoise, like "electric blue" or something (but i dout its a new color)
  15. The lego version can, ive been doing it for years now, not sure about the cada version, how surley you can open it to get/put the bevel gears inside?
  16. I mean this part isnt as good as cadas version because it doesnt have a clutch for a clutch ring: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=183176&idColor=5&ccName=6285646#T=C&C=5
  17. Yeah, not once have I accidentally put a 2L black pin inside of a 2L thin liftarm. Not once. Only 2L axles in red/black.
  18. yeah IDK why LEGO are so gormless They should have made the 28 tooth idler gear also a clutch gear just as CADA have done here.
  19. Didn't know this, nice find. I tested it with other gears too and they all more or less work, one tooth sometimes skips but thats not a huge deal
