Lego friends retired sets price drops, or not holding value?
Bricknblue replied to Dunedain's topic in LEGO Town
I have never bought a Friends set for MSRP, they have almost always been 30% off regularly at Target and then sometimes a sale on top of it. Friends sells well but 90% of the sets have no after market value, there is nothing special or unique that would keep the price steady. -
Target USA has Dimensions for 40% off, this includes all the preorders for the fall releases! I also (hopefully) scored a Cyberman for $3.50. They also have Nexo for 20% off. TRU has Scooby, Jurassic Word and Angry Birds for 20% off their inflated prices.

I think it's amazing people thought LEGO would make two different themes with 'knights' in them. Castle isn't a main theme anymore and hasn't been for awhile. There has been so much useless redoes of Pirates I'm glad castle takes a break for a bit. You can't keep rehashing the same sets over and over with. Castle isn't City. ;)

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

Shadow of the Destiny's Bounty sounds awesome! -
If it is only $6-7 then it most likely is a quad.

I'd go with yes, be a perfect fit for the new Pizza sets.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
Bricknblue replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
We could get earth monsters in the spring and sea monsters in the summer. The theme gets like 30 sets a year so I wouldn't worry. Also I really think, Jestros monstrous monster vehicle should be the official name. -
We get a (massive?) pizza van but no one to make the pizza or deliver it to besides the police? Yeah City now cost more than Star Wars. I bought the space shuttle for half off and still feel ripped off. I just bought last years police set 9Also half off), it's my first real one. I bought the World City one 15 years ago. Last year's and the City police station before that are my favorites. I actually like Police Stations, they are different and fun every year, means they are on clearance more often. What I hate is is every fire station looks exactly the same.

So City has the pizza van and Friends has the building?
-
Hmmm.... would the ice police be ice planet police...?
-
The police sets for 2017 will be water Police, they haven't done that. Then there will be ice police as LEGO City gets frozen, then there will be volcano police to thaw the ice. I mean it's only logical.

There are colored that don't work with City?
-
Buy Friends sets. I like the boat, but it probably has 80-90 pieces and will be $20 because LEGO wants to use a boat piece that barely works.

[MOC] Nexo Knights - Lava Gatehouse Raid
Bricknblue replied to Vorkosigan's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I like it, simple, yet detailed like a set. One thing is that the Nexo tank isn't blue enough. (I like the theme but there is WAY too much blue.) -
I have never seen the show. I wasn't sure if every season is a new plotline for kids to jump in, but yeah at some point won't the plotline lead to collapse? However I really enjoy the time, not a "i buy them all' but there are some nice designs so I hope there are children watching. If not reboot with the movie.

Yeah Ninjago and "The finale battle!!!" Ninjago somehow became an evergreen theme which is something pirates, castle and space can't even say. It's amazing to me because it's been 6 years of sets now and the theme is still popular. I'm curious if it will be in 2-3 more years. If you were 5 in 2011 you would be 10-11 now so is it just the same fans or are new 5 year olds really enjoying the show too now? Color scheme is huge. How long does everyone think that Nexo Knights will be around and VERY blue? I find that boring. I like when each fraction gets a color like the ninjas get The Chima sets were sometimes very well made, Gorilla Mech, and mini gorilla mech. Plus some of the sets transformed really well too. But as a whole, too many sets and two boring at times. Plus the fire vs ice thing lasted into a third year. Everything should only last a year. The Gorilla Mech is one of my favorite mechs Lego has ever made.

The theme ended after the three year plan that they had.

Fun in the Park - Could it be the beginning of something new?
Bricknblue replied to jjr_2009's topic in LEGO Town
I could picture LEGO releasing a "Fun at the Zoo" set and only include a few small animals. Just like how the 'park' only includes two tiny trees. -

Lego 2017 Sports Line Rumors
Bricknblue replied to Brotherfromanotherbrick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
There will be police and fire sets. Also why no baseball? I want more bats and gloves. -
Battle packs are just because LEGO legally can't sell individual Star Wars mini figures. So buy the mini figures you want and then throw the pieces away then. I just built one that had Senate Commandos (I think, they were blue) and had a machine gun torrent thing with it. I thought it was really well done.

Lego 2017 Sports Line Rumors
Bricknblue replied to Brotherfromanotherbrick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yes! Sport sets always seem to be huge failures and that means huge discounts on decent sets! -
It looks nice, but I won't bother buying it. 1. The three grey towers in the front look horrible with those one big piece slopes. 2. Why is half of it tan? 3. Only 5 mini figures? Daisy Duck looks silly without her clothes matching, and Donald is exactly the same. 4. It's called Disney Castle, probably because of the tan not matching, so why no Walt Disney mini figure? I haven't been i the castle in 16 and 20-21 years but I don't remember there being anything in the castle, so why would we want it to be a match to the castle in Disney World?
