My hometown police and fire is one building. I am actually ok with a new police station every year because they change them up and normally do a good job. However fire stations never do anything new, they are so boring and unoriginal. "Look last year it's a red fire station with a truck and a car saving a cat in a tree. This year it's a hot dog stand that's on fire! wow!!!!" We get a gas station for the first time in 9 years I believe and it's so darn expensive no one will buy it. Maybe that is LEGO's plan, to use it as an excuse to never make none fire / police / research sets again.

That has more to do with the BMI being a joke and a horrible measure if people are 'heathy' or not and more to do with a culture of ignorance, stupidity and beyond horrid health care. Wait? I'm in a LEGO forum right? Umm... Legos are cool. I'm a little surprised Friends doesn't have a donut shop yet. The USA is the biggest market and we like our donuts.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
Bricknblue replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
What a shock there is no meaning to any of the rumors. Ive very thankful Eurobricks didn't bother reporting on the MB. Certain stores have issues, doesn't mean anything. TRU.com has never stopped selling them. -
I have been doing that for years, no one has been listening. To be fair it might not have been the number 1 in sales, it was probably the number 1 in profit, and there is a difference. We have Creator for houses, the new corner deli is lovely. We also have Friends for things, which is mainly what I buy and mod them.

As of right now that is the price. LEGO can do what they have done with a few sets and lower it after no one buys it, like they did with the Friends Hot Air Balloon. Or if we keep complaining maybe they will listen!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
Bricknblue replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The series always runs out early, all but Movie series came back in once LEGO makes more. It's only March so I'm certain more will come in. I have had issues finding series 1-2 and 11 onwards, minus the Simpsons ones oddly. This isn't news, it's not going to help either. I swear it's probably started from some ***hole who bought 20 boxes and wants to get the price up quickly. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
Bricknblue replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I really wish LEGO sites that are somewhat supposed to be news sites would really stop reporting on speculation and rumors just because S@H USA has the series as sold out. LEGO has had several series as 'sold out' temporarily and they come back in once they get more in. They don't stick 'backordered' on limited edition products. If they were really being recalled TRU wouldn't still have them on their site, it would be making the news. Has anyone even bothered to email LEGO? Or will we just act like we are in middle school and continue to spread rumors? Does the wrestling guy not look like David Bowie to anyone else? -
Welcome to LEGO City. Also it's a $90 set, not $100. But yeah, the police island prison I can see being $90, it feels $90. The Nexo Castle is $100 and feels like that's fine. I get what you are saying but this is LEGO 2016. If anything about the top five sets of 2015 shows it's that people will still buy expensive sets so why not rip us all off? LEGO already got the memo to do that with the Batcave and Hoth 'base'.

I actually think the airplane hanger set is a pretty good deal. It's three planes that would probably be $20-$25 a piece, plus the hanger. I'm curious to what you would be willing to pay for it?
-
I completely agree. At least with Star Wars you get exclusive mini figures / new moulds. City gives you the same torsos and faces all the time. For the costs there should be a lot of 'exclusive' City mini figures. I get that there are some new cockpit pieces and the boat pieces are massive and expensive, but a $90 gas station. Even thinking as a 10 year old, would you rather have a $90 gas station or a $90 air port hanger with THREE planes? Complete insanity. Or the $90 police island prison set? Both have 150-200 more pieces! Like Rick said, the $20 great vehicles line is normally amazing values, but everything else outside of that is completely insane. Which is why I can't remember the last time I bought a City set that was over $20.

Welcome to LEGO City, where have you been staying? Besides Star Wars, which has an excuse, City is the most outrageous pricing the last several years.

I think the baby's hands can hold things that go into the Friend's hair and such.

The park set is 35 pounders USAers, not $35, there might be a different. I'd guess $40, but wouldn't be shocked at $45-$50.

Was the last hospital the one on a hill? I think it would be safe to say we will sometime soon. i think the wheelchair was made for Professor X, but it would only make sense to have it next year in a hospital sub theme.

The volcano sets are horrible. I'll get the Volcano Starter Set just fore the mini figures which are different and the awesome set name. The sets could be arctic or mining if you just change the colors. There is nothing special about them at all. The airplane sets are least look decent. The hanger and three planes is a greta idea for a set.

There is an Advent, it's supposedly 'indoor' focus this year and the typical bore.

Depends on the set, the 2016 ones are barely buildings. The Hair Salon I just built is only missing a roof. a lot of LEGO Town / Older City barely had roofs or walls. Eww. No, my issue is they are too skinny and have weirdly shaped heads. I do wish the heads would fit on mini figure bodies at times just to mix the population up. They aren't horrible but they aren't great either. I'd like them a lot more if their hands moved like mini figures. I do love the minimills in the Elves line, those are works of art. The Friends ones are a little boring looking. LEGO hasn't even allowed pictures from the UK Toy Fair, just descriptions. Germany normally has a Toy Fair before NYC and we get a few pictures, but the main show is NYC.

EB Xmas Raffle 2015-Your ideal Christmas tree - Winners
Bricknblue replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Town
My box was literally a chick, a baby chicken I call a chick, not sure if that's a New England thing or not. What Artanis- is talking about is what I got because I think it did have Easter eggs on it. No matter where I live all my LEGOs are at my mom's so she is like "You got this box with a chicken on it and some foreign language. I don't know..." -
I'd suggest just mixing the Friends minidolls in with the mini figures but there aren't any males. I buy more Friends sets than anything else now because I love the buildings and the pieces, and I take the hair pieces off and just throw the mini dolls anywhere. I'm very much looking forward to the Volcano Starter set we have to be getting.

EB Xmas Raffle 2015-Your ideal Christmas tree - Winners
Bricknblue replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Town
I did take a picture because it was so funny and a complete WTF moment when it came in the mail with another language all over the box. I have no clue where the picture is though. :) I live i the USA so a weird box coming over from another country probably had the mail police looking at it longer. I had someone send me a postcard from Portugal and it took a month to show up in Massachusetts. -

One year Cop Mike put the mini figures in a small box with a chicken on it and I don't think the costume people liked it that much so it took forever. -

February to April timeframe, more so because you are in the USA. Is there a rush? if it free LEGO. :) -
Most of my LEGOs are old so I haven't really built with the new pieces yet. So that's good to know.

DC Super Heroes - 76052 Batman™ Classic TV Series - Batcave
Bricknblue replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Licensed
I meant you could get a Cafe Corner Series set for $100-$120 less than this and will have the same amount of pieces. -
DC Super Heroes - 76052 Batman™ Classic TV Series - Batcave
Bricknblue replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Licensed
And you get slightly less pieces for $120-$100 if you buy the Cafe Corner sets, or you can spend $80 more and get the GB HQ with 2200 more pieces. The price is $50-70 too much.
