It doesn’t seem like it 🤪 Anyway sorry to bother you in light hearted discussion on a discussion forum. Back to your seriousness then…

Being proud of doing something wrong really isn't cool. Haha! Making fun of ourselves instead of so serious is good for our soul.

I’m sorry that everyone seems to be shi..ng on you build and presentation (including hidden posts) All appropriate boxes have to be ticked around here… I like your fishing boat. I know it’s similar to another you presented a while back though. but it looks awesome! you should try linking the turntable to a remote manual operation? there might be room to fit something like that in underneath the deck back to the cabin? hog steering would top this off too looks like there could be plenty of room to fit it in for a good challenge?? Whoops, it looks like I have some capital letter errors errors

Generic Contest Discussion
MangaNOID replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The more there are who disagree, the more there will be an agreeable outcome. I think the public consider each entry. Sometimes its pretty quick and easy to disregard and entry or two because of x or x that pops right out, especially from videos. @SaperPL should be on any next Jury as he has about the best eye for detail that I've read from anyone. And for what its worth: General kind comments should be banned Critique of build quality, function quality comments should be encouraged A voting system where you vote for the worst instead of the best and least points win Comments on why you voted the worst to encourage better builds Small token prize for the worst. -

Well I gave TC25 a go knowing this, I love having my crane, its probably the best Technic thing I have and there were many great entries to follow and appreciation to the Mods for their time to organise. But I ended up not caring about rankings or the contest in the end because for me, half the fun of the contest, and the community spirit of the contest was missing due to the jury voting. I like to see how people vote, maybe a few comments from that and get a large pool of voters to vote to get a more appropriate community based result as this is a community based event. A few Jury members is far more limiting than at minimum 10,20 or so voters. and: After being (quietly) part of this forum and seeing all the contests for the last 7ish years (and voting on most of them) I kinda find that a little elitist and insulting to the community -

Build something in grayscale from a certain movie franchise… -
lots of trouble trying to video this and trouble with youtube etc but here is a very lame video that is very long unfortunately. I'm not good at voicing videos but I had very little time to do editing and words and music etc...so had to. I must say that I am very happy with this little crane. its very robust and works really nice in my opinion anyway. I'll try to get an LDD file like I said for anyone that might want to use it.

42042 shrunk to 60% Gearbox and functions operate like the original powered through a HOG power knob/crank. - forwards and backwards drive - Infinite slewing - boom and grabber raise and lower - boom extension piece - Easy to use grabbing claw - cabin tilt Original model: Video (sorry it’s so long at 7mins but I’m slow and there was a lot to show with so many functions and features) Photos:

Compromise is very frustrating! I wish I could have bought a whole bunch of blue half beans for my build but I had no budget for this TC at all and blue half beams are very expensive in quantity. Just enter with what you can do there is only a few days. And oh the irony if you win a prize and it’s what you already just bought 😁

This build is awesome! As a fellow Eurobricks contributor that quietly appreciates fellow builds it’s a shame about not be able to use purple 🙁 but as a fellow competitor in the TC25 I’m glad there had to be a compromise in this build 😁

That is very cool and small and the same scale as my 2 way grabber. Well done! The second one would be good for a shrunk 42144. I think they are still compromises though on the original 42042 as they don’t hold their grab? And then that will start to add size. Anyway I’m just coming up with excuses as to why I couldn’t figure anything like yours out :) For the moment I’m happy with mine as it holds a lot of weight and works really well although you have inspired me to look again at the design…

Not much time recently so I really struggled to get this to where it is. Just some decent photos and a vid to go I hope… cabin tilt works similar to original but different… the boom thing really tried me as it’s 4x4 studs. I tried 5x5 which made life real easy but it looked to big and not shrunk enough. lengthened the claw grabber to grab better. Controls work well but the boom and claw raise/lower are a little slow so I have a joint HOG with crank. slight tilt when picking up a class tyre with wheel on full boom extension. Big tilt with just the tyre with full boom and almost full extension. A counter balance after the contest will work wonders as fake battery box not as heavy as 60% of the original 😆 Unless I’m mistaken all functions and all features are present?

I really thought 42054 had diffs so I didn’t want to try it. I should have referenced better… Look forward to see what you come up with. Can you show the 3 steering modes (someones going to ask if you have mentioned it of course) I have been working on a tractor for a few months with 3 steering modes in a compact area (got it working now) so curious to see how yours is implemented in this small scale too.

nice! I could never afford this one at the time and probably still don't want anything that big so this little one is exciting. well done for cramming it all in. the small steering quirk pointed out before seems no big deal for something this compact and full of functions. Very forgivable! Although your missing one thing...a chassis full of rainbow
