  1. Hello Martijn and a warm Welcome
  2. Looking good. No noticable sluggishness here. Big thanks to the EB staff!
  3. I'd favour the 9V system as well, as you can run the older 9V and the newer PF trains on it. Anyhow, I'm still struggling to find a way to back you, as I don't have a credit card and no one in my family does either
  4. Hey there and Greetings / Grüße von und nach Österreich
  5. Whoaaaaa. That one is massive. I'm looking forward to updates on this Project "Overkill" :D
  6. To me personally, the additional sidebar is too much clutter. I do not like it as well.
  7. Oh nice, set 4549 :) I have one at home, going to pick up another one in mint condition next week. Still one of my favourites from the 9V era. Have some pictures to share?
  8. That's from the "Build a Minfigure" station. There are several parts and accessories which you can mix & match to create your own minifigs. If you buy 3 of those, you get that blister to carry them home.
  9. Super Hero Girls??? With Friends-style figurines? WTF?
  10. I do not search around here very often, but when I do, I use Google. Hell, this sentence cries for a "The worlds most interesting man"-Meme I got pretty annoyed by the waiting time as well, that's why I switched to using Google.
  11. Whoa, what a nice collection! Welcome to EB and good luck with your layout project
  12. Ah, the "Light & Sound" modules. If you have that small battery box for the 9V battery too, the set is complete and you are ready to go! The modification is interesting, I'll try that one if it is doable without any other modifications to the switches
  13. What about a "Banner Creation Contest"? *wink wink, nudge nudge*
  14. And a warm Welcome from me too. Have a good time on EB! Whenever I read or hear Wales, I always remember this hilarious video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUScdrsMzpM
  15. Hey there and welcome to the club! Seems Jeroen is a pretty popular name for you Dutchmen, I already know two with that name (out of 3 dutchmen all together ). Be sure to make your next stop at the Trains forum to get some coals and fresh water for your steam engine
  16. Seems the link error when clicking on "Forums" in the breadcrumb bar is connected to this one. It should give you an overview of the forums, instead you're redirected to the landing page as well. I use that very often, good to know you're on it Edit: Just realized that clicking on "Home" redirects you to "Forums"...
  17. What a mess in that box! There are even old gears from 70ies technics sets in there. Will you keep us posted when you build along? I'd like to watch your progress. Digging through old boxes, looking for parts and trying to complete some lost-in-time sets hase been what I have been doing for the last 3 months as well. Btw, what is that modification on your track switches? Looks like a simple 1x2 block with a tile on top? I don't know if you have mentioned it in the video, don't have any sound here :(
  18. Maybe you can adjust the thread title, then? I don't recognize any of those minifigs from the first post... so to me, they are neither recognizable nor old... on the other hand, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder
  19. Hell, it says "Quicktime 3.0" in the Manual If possible, you can try to install a slightly newer version like 5.0, sometimes this works. Using a VM (or some old PC) with Win98 installed, like Rohan proposed, might be the more "hassle free" solution to it...
  20. I don't have neither set nor CD, but as this set was released in 1998 it's pretty safe to say the CD was designed for Windows 95, so it should run without any problems on 95, 98 an ME. If you are trying to run it with Win7, try the Compatibility Settings on either XP Mode, or Win98 Mode if XP doesn't work and also experiment with "Run this program as Administrator" rights. If neither does work, it could be that the CD relies on some DLLs or System calls that are no more existing within Win7... Good Luck!
  21. You cruel monster! It hurts so much, but I can't stop watching...
  22. Basically, I'm in the "Retired sets for way under collectors prices? Yay!"-boat. It's great for someone who missed out on the original, by whatever reasons. And saving on 70 bucks for the Lepin Monster House or 290 for the original Lego one is a big difference, too. However, I would not buy any Lepin or other knockoff brand set. This is something that does not play well with my attitude against copycats in general. It's okay if you copy some clever idea for your MOC. It's even okay if you recreate a whole MOC for the fun of it. But making big money out of other peoples ideas is definitely not. On a sidenote, the comments about Lepin (or others) parts turning up on BL or other second hand Lego sites just gave me the willies. When I buy Lego, now after coming out of my dark ages, 90% of it is second hand. Receiving some cheap knockoffs instead of the original might be a possibility nowadays and even the thought of that makes me angry....
  23. Lots of sealed LEGO Service packs, with printed bricks, transparent stuff, trees and fences, etc... overall value according to Bricklink: 345 Euros. Not counting 2 Service packs that have never ever been sold on Bricklink, so no price info on those two. And I got all that for a mere 100 bucks Right now, I'm heavily tempted to setup a seller account on BL.
  24. Kids, eh? Now we know what they are really for: Bring back our youth I'd be still in my Dark Ages if there wasn't my little son playing with his duplo.... Welcome to the club!
  25. Lovely. Beautiful mix of history, architecture and building skills
