  1. This is my favorite building among the contest entries so far. Beautiful build!
  2. I've only really built one KREO set, but it was an enjoyable building process. I've seen a couple of the Transformer sets on clearance and considered buying them, too. I don't think I've tried to connect the KREO bricks to my LEGO bricks, though, so I can't speak to how well they hold. Some of the vehicles in those KREO GI Joe sets look very cool to me, but I really don't care for the look of KREO's human figures, so my interest level is probably going to depend on how attractive the prices are considering the figures. As badly as I dislike the figures, though, I love the realistic looking modern weapons.
  3. The original version looks great, and the interiors of the new look good, too. I look forward to seeing more.
  4. Awesome review. The shipping definitely drives the cost up, but you're right that it's still probably below LEGO price points. I'd be pretty tempted, but i have no idea where I'd put a model that large. Does that mean that you eschew LEGO bricks in favor of Kiddicraft Self-locking Bricks?
  5. That's a great MOD. I'm trying to figure out how many of the pieces I already have and what I would need to buy. I think I'm an extra 6867 away from being able to do the conversion. I think I could probably put together a decent green civilian car out of the pieces I'd pull of of this in the process, too.
  6. Are those clear cheese slopes along the sunroof on the royal limo? I particularly enjoy the vintage pickup truck and the cowgirl cruiser.
  7. You definitely pulled that off. I'm thinking now about what I can do to my copy of the 60007 car, or just rebuild from the ground up aping your design.
  8. The stop sign makes a really big difference. An already great model continues to improve. Have you tried turning the robot arms on the stop sign the other direction? The stop sign might sit more parallel to the side of the bus if the arms were flipped.
  9. I'll join the chorus appreciating the chance to see a design evolve. I can almost imagine those photos hanging on the wall of the actual blue cafe, showing the history of the business in different buildings or after different remodeling. The final (for now) version is just great, too. The addition of the light blue makes it really pop.
  10. I'm really not a fan of the sports car in 60007. It just doesn't quite "work" for me. But as much as I dislike the official version, I like your mods at least that much or more. Particularly the yellow and the darker blue.
  11. I like the front end of the dump truck better, too, but I also like that they look like different makes or models. The dump truck looks a little more realistic to me.
  12. That's a great looking police car, and with some minor decorative changes would make a nice looking civilian car.
  13. I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say it had major flaws to start with, but you've significantly improved the model. Great piece!
  14. Very nice truck! The two white trucks almost cry out for some kind of decoration on the "box." The two with the black boxes I think I can more easily imagine seeing without decoration.
  15. I think it looks more like the motorcycle from the Nolan Batman movies than anything Spider-Man would have.
  16. Man, that is absolutely gorgeous. It may be the most realistic looking minifig scale car I've seen. And you included instructions, which is a totally classy move. I don't know if i have the parts, but I'm going to look and if I do, I will have to build one.
  17. Do you have pics of your "full" Fire Brigade modification? I'm curious to see it.
  18. Even putting aside the spotlights and headphones, which are awesome, it just plain old looks cool. I picked up a rock band set a couple weeks ago, and I need a stage, so this is definitely relevant to my interests.
  19. Very cool idea. I think there's a different and interesting challenge in trying to come up with a model using only the parts from a given set, and you've definitely risen to that challenge.
  20. That;s pretty awesome. I like your use of the printed board pieces as fencing.
  21. Is that two Fire Brigades together?
  22. I have a stack of sets, so I'm interested in doing the Academy.
  23. How many studs did you have to extend the truck bay? Few enough that it still fits the baseplate?
