Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well yeah, it‘s the least appealing of the DADA classrooms for sure, but it‘s still significant My point was more that a case for an OotP-themed bigger castle expansion could be made! More so based on my other examples rather than the DADA classroom, admittedly -

And it‘s strongly being implied by the leakers that the two unknown March sets are based on the movie after all! Kinda weird to only have two sets, but at least there are tie-in sets at all Now I can‘t help but wonder if the builds and mobs will look any different compared to the regular sets! Also, neat to finally have our first Jack Black minifig! -

Fair point, but you could still very easily have a castle section dedicated to OotP. Dumbledore‘s and Umbridge’s offices, the RoR, and the DADA classroom play very significant roles in that movie! That said, I wouldn‘t mind the tower being based on PoA either. In that case, they could feature Lupin‘s classroom and we would still get a new Gambledore! -

None of that is present in the movie though, and even if it was, why would it have any bearing on sets? I just think OotP deserves a proper castle expansion too as it‘s the only film besides DH1 not to have one yet! (And it‘s one of my personal favourites.) Granted, a $250 one may be overkill, but I think it‘s also overkill to have yet another large expansion themed around CoS. I get it, the first two movies are deemed the most magical, which is not untrue, but they‘ve kinda been done to death now -

Sadly, I have to agree. As much as I want an OotP-themed expansion (which we haven‘t had any in the reboot other than the RoR!), it‘s the most likely scenario An OotP expansion could be really cool with a new Gambledore minifig, Umbridge‘s office, Sirius appearing in the fireplace, or even the twins blowing up Umbridge, but noooooo, PS and CoS are the only movies that count -

Unless the series does gangbusters, I don‘t see a single reason for TLG to switch to sets based on the show. The current success of the movie-based sets perfectly proves that nostalgia is a big factor, which the show will have to overcome, and good luck with that John Williams’s score for instance will be impossible to beat, and that’s just one thing among hundreds! Remaking a movie series that is still this popular is an uphill battle -

Nobody knows whether the show will get sets or not. So far, no HBO show has ever had LEGO sets based on it. Plus, the movie merch has been tried and tested, whereas any potential show merch is a wildcard. Given how risk-averse TLG has become, I wouldn‘t be surprised if they stuck with the movies, unless the show (and its merch) is incredibly successful. It‘s just the safer option And I for one won‘t buy sets based on that show, if they ever materialise. -

One copy each, or an entire box of 36? As someone familiar with minifig-eating-related bets, I gotta know -

More like next to impossible Unless you want a CMF that consists of 6 Batman variants (all boring), 3 Jonklers, 2 Harleys, and 1 Riddler, just to add some excitement Ok ok, I‘m just jonkling. No Riddler. -

We‘ll see how interesting those two sets actually are With 12 rumoured minifigs Arkham kinda has to have some new prints at least, but that doesn‘t guarantee any new characters (or long-awaited updates). And the Batcave could also mostly be a rehash. Call me a downer, but the last few years don‘t exactly spark confidence -

I‘m kinda sick of the big castle expansions being based on PS/CoS so often. We just had a PS Great Hall, and a CoS Great Hall before that. Please, please anything other than PS and CoS for this expansion! -

All I‘m saying is that it‘s a bit weird, not that we definitely won‘t get a D2C set next year (although that‘s what I personally want ) -

Kinda? But it also just further cements the DC theme as Batman and friends*, which is a step in the wrong direction *on occasion, once every blue moon -

I love it when long-lost plot threads are finally being addressed! What took them so long? I‘d love for that character to appear in a set, especially since their role is said to be sizeable, not just a cameo! -

Me neither! Unless it‘s WB who effed up somehow, which wouldn‘t surprise me And yeah, there‘s no real reason not to release at least one set. They very easily could’ve eaten that loss had it flopped, and that‘s not a very likely outcome either! Gunn‘s track record alone should‘ve been a good argument, but alas… We‘re at a point where even MCU movies and Star Wars shows get skipped, so maybe this was inevitable -

I'm still debating with myself whether this is even more disappointing than the way they handled Indy. At least with DoD, there wasn't a press statement that blatantly lied to our faces The January wave filled me with so much hope that the theme might FINALLY move away from purely being Batman-based, but nope... And I seriously doubt the Batcave or Arkham will introduce any new characters. At this point, any villain other than Jonkler, Harley, or Freeze would border on a miracle. Or having Robin in a set. And I highly doubt they'd release DCU sets later on. Sure, after the DCEU, you could argue it's smarter for them to wait and see how the DCU will perform before committing to it, but still. I just don't see them revisiting the first handful of movies later on. You have to strike the iron while it's hot! It's sad to see them being this risk-averse with one of the biggest comic book characters ever conceived. What chance do other characters that aren't Batsy stand then? -

That can easily be ruled out since the set is $60. If I‘m not mistaken, Galactus has been described as the only build included -

Maybe not every time, but I distinctly remember Gringotts being part of the same set list that had the 2HY sets. And I do believe it happened in other years as well -

I agree that the bunker would make for a pretty dull D2C set. A remake of the 2009 set is long overdue, but I think it‘d be much better served as a Yavin-style playset. A remake of the Ewok Village as a D2C set would be much more appealing! -
Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
The last couple of 2HY lists always included at least the set number and sometimes the price point of the D2C set as well, so its absence is a bit suspicious It‘d be the first year without a D2C set since 2019, but given how many HP ones are still on shelves, I think a break would make sense! -

I only noticed after the discussion in the Marvel thread that there‘s no advent calendar on the current set list! Of course that doesn‘t mean there won‘t be one as the list may be incomplete, but it‘s pretty curious nonetheless. Also, there doesn‘t appear to be a D2C set, but I‘d be kinda glad if we got a break next year. We already have the $200 microscale DA and the $250 Hogwarts expansion, so our wallets will surely be thankful for a breather -

Which media she‘s originally from doesn‘t even matter at this point. Go to a Disney store or any random convention and you‘ll see a ton of Angel plushies. She has way more merch than Lilo does! -
