  1. The OT is the foundation, yes, but I assure you there are plenty of SW fans out there that don‘t care for it one iota It‘s such a vast franchise now that some fan groups only care about a very specific era or even just some of the shows and movies within those eras, and that‘s all valid! That‘s not a counterargument against having OT sets on shelves, I’m arguing for all parts of SW to be treated equally
  2. I‘d argue the Bugle is far less obscure. Sure, on the surface, the set is an office building with red letters on top and a bunch of Spidey figures. However, it‘s Peter‘s workplace and „home“ to JJJ, arguably one of the most iconic Marvel civilians. The location, albeit with a different design, also features prominently in the Raimi trilogy Oscorp is Gobbie‘s HQ and where the spider bit Peter, and that‘s about it
  3. At this point, we don‘t even know if we‘re getting a D2C set this year in the first place And if we do, they may throw us a curveball and release something like a UCS-style Quinjet Oscorp Tower and the Baxter Building are far more obscure to the average customer than any of the previous Marvel D2C sets.
  4. This guy again. Can we finally just ignore him? Even if there was something to this „rumour“, providing only emojis which could be interpreted in multiple ways, so you can always claim in hindsight that you were right, is just lazy.
  5. Exactly my thoughts. What made the last few 2HY waves so cool was the mixture of OT, PT, TCW, and Mando sets, combined with sets based on the new shows (Obi-Wan, Ahsoka) and other cool randomness (RTG). At least there‘s some ST stuff this year, albeit limited to 18+ sets and a fantastic book minifig
  6. It‘s pretty hilarious, because even one or two years ago people would‘ve been ecstatic over Galactic Marines and the 327th If only those weren‘t pretty much the only new thing ths year! I may be drinking my own kool-aid here, but all is forgiven if A) the Turbo Tank is Mando-based or B) the unknown set is based on anything other than the PT/TCW/OT. Fool‘s hope? Absolutely
  7. Printing white on yellow leads to mixed results, but I think it‘d still look better than vice versa with missing markings
  8. I‘m not surprised we‘re „only“ getting 4-5 sets based on Rebirth as it‘s essentially a soft reboot. Sure, it‘s still a sequel to JWD (and thus technically JP7), but with an entirely new cast, so it could be perceived as more risky compared to JWFK and JWD Then again, kids mostly care about the dinosaurs and not the human characters, so there may be other factors at play. That said, 4-5 sets is still great in comparison because other big releases this year either only get one set (F4) or none (Thunderbolts*, Supes)
  9. That‘s exactly how it works, correct! It‘s not possible to remove it from the torso though as the cuffs at the ends are moulded into the piece.
  10. It‘s probably something like SSCU, but they should absolutely call it the SSUC because that‘s exactly what it did No chance in hell those ever get sets, but ASM stands a decent chance too! Definitely lower on the probability scale than the Raimi Trilogy and Spider-verse, but still. Also, funny how we may end up with three very different superhero movie subthemes me and many others have advocated for ages, all in the same year (the third one being the rumoured Schumacher Batman set(s))
  11. Probably more Infinity Saga sets. So far, each wave had at least two of them, so if your guesses are correct, there would have to be at least one more That would be amazing Not much of a stretch if a Gobbie minifig is also included in one of the sets!
  12. Definitely not, since Rebels premiered in 2014 I think it‘s gonna be an Ahsoka tie-in instead.
  13. The leaked hat pieces from One Piece look fantastic! Gotta watch the Netflix show now Another property that caught my interest because of a LEGO-tie in, rather than the other way round
  14. Obviously not gonna happen, but I‘d prefer a majority of the summer sets to be based on the Sony movies (i.e., ITSV, ATSV, Raimi trilogy, ASM duology) While I still enjoy the Infinity Saga sets, they‘ve kinda run out of steam since they keep circling back to the same movies, with some notable exceptions. I‘d be more excited about them if more of those were like the Surtur set!
  15. 18 sets? Good luck with that, I struggle to come up with 5 viable set ideas The Fondor and the TIE Avenger (?) are the only semi-realistic options. A Partisan X-Wing or Aldani TIE Fighter are not likely since they tend to use OT vehicles primarily in OT sets (the RO Y-Wing and Solo TIE Fighter being the only notable exceptions). The show just isn‘t toyetic enough for that many sets. And younger fans don‘t care about the show either, and that is still the core demographic
  16. I just looked it up, and the leaker referred to it as a „Turbo Tank“, rather than a „Clone Turbo Tank“. I‘m still fully expecting a set based on the Battle of Kashyyyk, but combined with the smaller size, I could actually see this being the juggernaut from „The Believer“ instead Mayfeld and Tank Driver Mando would be so cool to get! But yeah, I really shouldn‘t get my hopes up. My predictions are wrong pretty often
  17. I still wonder which minifigs Maxbautde was hinting at. Sure, the Clones were all on many people‘s wishlists, but I think he must‘ve referred to other (new?) characters as well For the BP, it‘s likely Bly plus a couple of 327th CTs, maybe a new version of Aayla. The UT-AT must come with Bacara and an updated Ki-Adi Mundi at least. The Juggernaut is a wild card, but maybe it‘s not even based on ROTS/TCW? I know, it’s extremely unlikely, but it could theoretically be based on RO or TBB. Or even better, the juggernaut from the Mando S2 episode (which would explain the low price) …Not gonna happen, I know. I smell another Gree incoming. The MTT has so much potential! Wat Tambor, Cham Syndulla, a new Tactical Droid, they would all fit so well! Keeping my expectations low though. The minifigs are what will make or break this wave for me.
  18. Yeah, I‘d be very surprised if not! Two birds with one stone The year actually has a good era balance! The playsets obviously don‘t, but the buildable figures, helmets, and midi-scale ships do have quite the range (OT, PT, ST, Mando, Ahsoka, Andor).
  19. You must’ve missed it, since we‘ve known that for a while now Trans-clear arms and legs maybe?
  20. Well, we do in fact get a bunch of cool system sets! It’s just too bad they all feature Clones I hate to criticise this wave this much since there are quite a few things in here I was wishing for before, but it does feel like they took three years worth of Clone sets and decided to shove them into one wave
  21. That‘s such an awesome idea!!
  22. JBSpielwaren already have a video of the Knight Bus in their IG story! …what exactly was the point of delaying the set then? Whatever the issue was, can‘t have been that big if review copies are already around!
  23. I specifically meant new characters, not new variants. Sure, technically every clone is unique, but you could just as well say the 327th troopers and Galactic Marines are variants of shinies we got before Every specialised CT used to be a shiny, after all, right? If we count variants too, the minifig list so far doesn‘t look too bad, but it’s still a far cry from previous years. At least we got TROS Palpy
  24. Yeah, but now they‘ve done pretty much all of the core characters and I‘m not sure how willing they are to feature members of Team Rose, Team Chaotix and so on Hopefully they will!
  25. Agreed. My issue is that in the last 10 years, we got used to having lots of variety in the 2HY sets, and the August wave currently consists purely of Clone sets. Playset-wise, I mean! We actually have plenty of variety this year if you also consider the midi-scale ships and buildable figures, but that‘s not the kind of variety people want
