  1. Agreed. One face of the building is a regular-looking pub and the other is the back-ally The interior is iconic, but the exterior is nothing to write home about (which is also the point in-universe)
  2. The sheer size of the thing gives me a headache If it can only be displayed in the one-street configuration, I have to rearrange quite a few non-HP sets since I only have a 50x40cm space right next to m copy of 71043. If a V-shape display is possible, I might have a chance to put it where I wanted to
  3. The lack of Gringotts still bums me out, but at least it‘s implied we‘re getting it next year I wonder if the set can be split apart since two 50cm streets are a bit easier to display than one 1m streeet
  4. Colour me sceptical 71043 had just over 6000 pieces and was microscale with lots of small parts, so a 5400-piece-minifig-scale-DA at the same price does seem rather unrealistic. 4500 I could get behind
  5. They both look excellent! I also appreciate Evazan‘s alternate „oh ****“ facial expression His head is much larger than a human‘s though, so I think it‘s quite appropriate
  6. I also faintly remember a picture of the box leaking, but I‘m not 100% sure it actually happened The nanofigs however definitely leaked a while before, as @RealGeronimo11 points out
  7. I couldn‘t agree more, I think the new face prints are so much better (all of them, not just the more restrained ones). Plus, they have two exclusive expressions each, which is a huge improvement over the 2011 versions just by itself, who had to share the same head (quite a cheap move for a D2C in hindsight, no matter how good the set was) And if we‘re lucky, we might get four additional expressions in DA!
  8. I kinda see what they were going for, but they still missed the mark The cartoon counterparts look stylised while the figures appear to have merged with Beetlejuice‘s snake form Agreed. 16 is just enough to cover the basics, no need for a bunch of basketball players taking some spots Interesting point! CMF series are often accompanied by a D2C, but not necessarily so. To be honest, I have no idea what they could do for a D2C. The WB water tower?
  9. MY EYES! What’s wrong with their faces? Why do they all look like they’re possessed by some snake demon? Take them away! Anyway, looking at the two Disney series, weird body shapes shouldn‘t be a problem at all
  10. They don’t, but that’s to be expected The Sirius minifig also barely ressembles the version on the wanted poster found in the Hogwarts Express set. I don’t mind tbh, as I’d rather they produce accurate minifigs instead of adhering to their own continuity to a T
  11. That sword of Gryffindor is a thing of beauty Ole bless dual-molding!
  12. This has the potential to be a great series! I was quite surprised at first, but it does make a lot of sense when you think about it. TLG’s ties to WB are just as strong as those to Disney and if I recall correctly, the Looney Toons were supposed to be added to the cancelled third year of Dimensions.
  13. FTFY, the Upside Down and Hagrid’s Hut were both 2019 releases Do you mean compared to the other year 3 through 6 versions? If so, that’s no surprise since this face was specifically designed for her, while the other one was repurposed from PotC Out of the 4 ones available, this is my favourite Hermione face print, with the year 1 one being a close second
  14. Good question actually... The foes that immediatelly come to mind are all too big for the blind bags (Hammer Bros and friends, Wiggler, Chain Chomp, Lakitu, Kamek, Sniffit etc) Maybe Ninjis, Scaredy Rats or Galoombas? These are quite small
  15. I don’t think any of these really require new moulds. I’m pretty happy with the printed versions and if they feel the need to include physical versions in next year’s sets à la Infinity Stones after all, they could theoretically repurpose existing moulds for that (except for the ring, that one’s the trickiest). Of course I wouldn’t be mad if they ended up creating new moulds, but the theme’s budget could be better spent I think
  16. Promobricks have started with their review of the CMF series with Harry, Dumbledore, Ron, and Hermione being the first batch: https://www.promobricks.de/lego-71028-harry-potter-minifiguren-review-1/106492/ I love that butterbeer mould And the 1x2 tile in Harry’s copy of the Advanced Potion-making book is very detailed! Looks like they will look at four minifigs each day, so tomorrow they’ll cover row 2 on the sheet
  17. ...didn’t we think the very same thing back in 2018 though? Unless we hear rumours to the contrary, I firmly expect them continue with one wave a year (plus a few extras sprinkled in here and there) Regarding the warning: Good to hear others are having the same issue, I was already afraid my account had been hacked or something
  18. The initial Q&A announcement said something along the lines of “magical set”, didn’t it? I don’t think the CMF series qualifies as a set in that sense in the first place
  19. @sebastian666: Well said I also really appreciate this thread and the community in general, it has been a fun couple of months and a welcome distraction during these trying times. Thanks a lot to all of you!
  20. We did it, we‘ve reached page 500 before DA got revealed/leaked Which would be funny, because 2011!Ollivander also used Harry‘s hairpiece at that time Of course that‘d be a bit inconsistent with the 2018 version, but you could argue that they would‘ve recoloured Harry‘s new hairpiece if it wasn‘t a GWP set he was in, which barely have any budget And it‘s not like inconsistencies like that have stopped them within the rebooted theme even (2018 PS Dumbledore vs 2020 CoS Dumbledore for instance)
  21. There‘s a sticker on top of the TV that you first have to scan. Then Mario starts to play the classic Super Mario tune und you put him over a hole on the TV, where the figure scans the coloured tiles on top of the mechanism that pass by as you turn the crank. Each colour corresponds with an item on the screen, causing Mario to play the appropriate sound Once you‘re done, the flagpole jingle plays
  22. I would, but I have no idea how to fire a programming language Good point. You can‘t really argue about taste, which is what this whole argument boils down to I was wondering the same thing, but it doesn‘t look like there are more stickers on there
  23. I‘ll buy the set either way, but I would feel a bit cheated if Gringotts was missing. This thing is called „Diagon Alley“, not „most of Diagon Alley with its (arguably) most iconic building missing, please wait until next spring to find out if we bother to release it and then fork out another 100$“
  24. The way I see it, the whole issue can be broken down to this: Is Diagon Alley complete without Gringotts? No? Then TLG is trying to sell an incomplete 400$ set That‘s a bit too shady for my liking. Sure, TLG is a company, but their reputation means a lot to them and this would just be cash-grabby.
  25. Does Gringotts really need other stickers though? The last one had four; two for the sign and two for the portraits. The latter probably weren’t even canon, I mean why would a bank run and owned by goblins hang portraits of random wizards on their walls (Or maybe I missed something and they‘re there after all) Anyway, I assume it‘s not included to prevent disappointment. Hoping for stuff being included in sets based on leaks has rarely paid off in the past (e.g. additional characters in 79017) , so I‘m not doing it this time There are counterexamples too (Babymort), but still, not risking it
