Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
My Iron Man copies were all ok, but something similar happened to me with the Sith set, where the small Vader motive was missing one dark blue stud (as you say, easily replacable, but still curious). Maybe the amount of 1x1 round plates (or tiles) per bag may vary ever-so-slightly? Is there a specific reason you use the studs instead of the 2x4 tile? Or is that a hypothetical? -

I think I‘m in love The amount of details is just astounding The moulded wand boxes are a welcome surprise too. I wonder if they‘ve designed that mould with an additional purpose in mind outside of HP, e.g. as greebling on SW UCS models. Lockhart‘s face print looks very good, but I hope he‘s got an alternative facial expression too as this one is a tad too sinister for his DA appearance -

Well, the German version of the announcement makes it seem like the set is going to be released on the same day (31st of August). Never thought we‘d see the day where a LEGO set would be released on the same day as it‘s announced -

I knew it! That‘s why TLG has been trying to get into the microscope and nanotech businesses lately! It‘s all coming together... We have to make this public before it‘s too late! So James and Oliver are going to roast the designers with our questions? That‘s going to be amazing! Now I wish I would‘ve put more effort into mine -

That‘s fake, the real one will be microscale Seriously though, that picture is fake because it‘s just a cutout of the boxart. Notice how the minifigs that walk on the street on the box are all curiously missing here -

Let’s face it, it‘s going to be microscale. TLG will completely ruin this theme by forcing their secret microscale agenda down our throats -

Not only that, we don’t even know most of their names So they‘re basically random civilians as well. I agree with @Vindicare, these 8 characters are very relevant to this set. A couple of random shoppers would have been a nice addition, no doubt, but if you think they are more important or deserving of a spot than Lucius Malfoy, Gilderoy Lockhart, or Molly Weasley, then you have quite peculiar preferences That‘s like filling the Hogwarts sets with random students or unnamed teachers -

Nope, I like it too I actually find it hilarious that everyone was dreading the 18+ style boxart and now they complain all the same -

Good to know Don’t get me wrong, I‘m not disliking what we‘ve got so far, but I doubt most of these designs will translate into interesting minifigs (unless their full transformation already occurs in the first film; this is supposed to be a trilogy after all). And the Riddler really does look like Hush as @Robert8 points out. I didn‘t even know they’ve merged these characters before -

What's the film's rating going to be? To me, it looks a bit too dark to spawn LEGO sets And from what we've seen so far, there's not much going on in terms of interesting character designs, apart from Battinson himself. If I didn't already know beforehand, I wouldn't have guessed that Catwoman, the Riddler and the Penguin were in it (and I certainly wouldn't have recognised Farrell either, the magic of prosthetics I guess ). Maybe they'll all don something a bit more recognisable later-on in the story. I wasn't expecting a green bowler hat, question mark cane, and purple mask for the Riddler, but still something a bit less generic than what's in the teaser, just my 2 cents though. Jeffrey Wright as Gordon on the other hand looks spot-on -

Meh. I would‘ve preferred a new face print for Lucius over the somewhat pointless update Ollivander received, but oh well... Too bad Lockhart‘s face isn‘t visible I still hope that one is new at least -

There is a legit reason though: someone in Germany snatched the trademark for the name before Lucasfilm did, so TLG changed the name just to be safe: https://www.stonewars.de/news/razor-crest-wird-the-mandalorian-bounty-hunter-transport/ I‘m pretty sure Lucasfilm will properly claim the name at some point as there is no way they won‘t win in court, but better to be safe than sorry for the time being More details here: https://www.stonewars.de/news/razor-crest-wortmarke-deutschland/ -

The lack of random shoppers in DA doesn‘t surprise me in the slightest since they can‘t be kitbashed as easily as civilians in City or Creator Expert sets, so that would pretty much require at least one new print per minifig The idea of a people pack of sorts is definitely neat, but I‘m afraid that‘d be a bit too niche. Who would buy it unless they owned DA (or built a custom one) -

There were two versions of Holtzmann used in the set pictures, one of which was never released (probably because it was intended for a cancelled Dimensions pack). If something similar happened here it would be the most extreme case imaginable for this type of error since it only happened in a handful of pictures of the GB set while here, every single one on the box would have to be wrong Not very likely I‘m afraid -

Wasn‘t it supposed to be an exclusive for SW Celebration though? Either way, they‘ve clearly stated that convention exclusives are exempt from the new region-exclusivity rules, so this (annoyingly) makes sense -

That‘s what I thought at first as well, but they would advertise it somewhere on the box if two versions of Harry were included in the set Or they made a huge whoopsie and had the wrong version of his in every single picture (remember the Ghostbusters 2016 set?) -

Weird, why would they hold off on a DA-related GWP for later Just to annoy everyone who bought the DA in September? -

It‘s a bit too early to tell how well the set will sell, but the absence of Gringotts probably won‘t be a strike against it given how much the set includes as is -

You can find most D2Cs at various retailers too. The catch is that it takes a while before they become widely available, usually around 3 months I think At least in Switzerland, this often isn‘t worth it since some retailers sell D2C sets with quite the mark-up. I remember the UCS Millennium Falcon having a mark-up of over 30% in some places during the period it was sold out on s@h -

Too bad about the lack of battle packs (at least for now), but will Microfighters still be a thing next year? While not the most amazing sets to ever exist, I still look forward to them every year -

Nah, the goofy faces and Snape‘s glow-in-the-dark head were the most iconic aspects (Seriously though, what was up with that? I remember the first time I saw anything HP-related was the teaser for the first wave in a LEGO magazine, so imagine my 12-year old version‘s surprise at Snape being a regular-looking human in PS To have been a fly in the room when that decision was made) -

Hm, you‘re right Maybe there is something to that! Then again, @jpipes7261 has a point. I remember the speculation about all the colourful blasters that leaked in early 2019, only for them to end up being prototypes of sorts (the pink one should have been a dead giveaway though ). I think at this point, it could go either way... -
