  1. Just completed the set, and it’s easily the best set this year IMO, and that’s saying something The building process was very enjoyable with lots of interesting techniques. And it looks stunning on display!
  2. As I’ve said over in the HP thread, that kind of comparison isn’t really fair. The “tax” isn’t the only difference The Cantina introduces more new moulds than Diagon Alley does (at least 3 vs 1), the Dewback does account for some of the price difference, and the PPR is a notoriously flawed metric in general. A 1x1 stud does not equal a huge wedge piece. Not even weigth is a good metric since it doesn’t account for mould complexity
  3. That’s not really a fair comparison though DA introduces one new mould (the wand box) whereas the Cantina includes at least three new moulds, a big moulded creature, a lot of recoloured parts, and other moulds we haven’t seen for ages. Also, piece count alone is not that useful of a metric given how different their size can be. I think DA has a lot more small parts than the Cantina does. Plus the license fees between the themes aren’t necessarily similar. Anyway, I love both of these sets and can’t wait for them
  4. This thing looks amazing It’s so good to see the Dewback return too! And looks like we finally know where a huge chunk of this year’s mould budget went
  5. Or both If I had that booklet, I would have posted a picture of the bag overview regardless of whether there are minifigs included or not, just to let people know
  6. According to stonewars, the GWP will be added to all orders above the threshold of 35€, regardless of theme Unless all you currently want are the wave 2 sets of MK of course
  7. I hope this is real If not, someone’s really good at imitating the new-ish lifestyle pictures
  8. Exactly. One is a new Star Wars show on an almost worldwide available streaming service while the other is a director’s cut of an existing movie on a currently US-exclusive competitor Apples and oranges Btw, still no news regarding the Batwing minifigs. Seems like the person in possession of the instruction booklet really likes to torture us
  9. As per the usual, the copycat would-be-leaker clowns on IG are all running with it without checking the original source
  10. The original source is an IG account with one post, so take this with a whole mountain of salt
  11. Since the themes aren’t listed in any particular order, you can’t say which of the other themes it dethroned Ninjago, Friends, and City are also curiously missing
  12. It is Jang himself of course
  13. I looked up my order history and all of a sudden there‘s a new order with a timestamp of today, consisting of the Brickheadz I did not expect them to add the GWP after the fact because they‘ve never done so before, but I appreciate that move very much Their customer service truly deserve every bit of praise they’re getting! Edit: Ninja’d
  14. So to sum it up, Looney Tunes and S21 are pretty much guaranteed while the third series is either Disney S3, DC S2, or Marvel S1? Is there any real substance to the rumours regarding the unknown series or is it mostly based on conjecture (e.g. the Winnie Pooh ideas set requiring moulds Disney S3 could conveniently provide)?
  15. The new sales report is up and SW is still among the top 6 best-selling themes: https://www.brickfanatics.com/first-half-of-2020-sees-the-lego-groups-sales-and-profits-grow/ (Just for the doomsayers claiming that LSW is dead )
  16. Looks like HP finally made it into the club of best-selling themes: https://www.brickfanatics.com/first-half-of-2020-sees-the-lego-groups-sales-and-profits-grow/ Interestingly, this concerns 1HY of 2020, so before this year‘s sets hit shelves
  17. It won‘t. The Bespin Duel set was intended to be a convention exclusive and was thus produced in limited capacity. It‘s only available in the US
  18. Minifig-wise, there would be enough new stuff, I’ll give you that, but I was more thinking in terms of actual set material I doubt there‘ll be new vehicles or locations, so a potential set (or wave of sets) would have to mostly consist of remakes, which would be pretty pointless if you consider the sales of the previous versions since updated designs of the same sets probably wouldn‘t help all that much in that regard... And regarding the niche-ness (?) of Snyder Cut sets: Sure, the Mandalorian also got sets, but it‘s Star Wars, so of course it did. We still don‘t know whether the Marvel shows will have sets based on them, and if they don‘t, Snyder Cut sets have even less of a chance. And no matter how different the mini-series will be, in its core it‘s still a new version of an existing film
  19. Maybe it‘s still below the threshold? In Switzerland at least, the Astronomy Tower is enough to „unlock“ the GWP, but the Hogwarts Express for instance is just 1CHF short of that
  20. If it truly doesn’t include any minifigs, this would be a huge step back from every UCS-style D2C set they‘ve released since 2014 Also, it’s not like there‘s a lack of new characters or versions to choose from when it comes to the 89 movie The only excuse I would accept are budgetary reasons, but even then that reasoning would be pretty flimsy
  21. Or maybe they‘re delaying it deliberately for their two minutes of IG fame
  22. I don‘t see why this one shouldn‘t have minifigs when the Burtonmobile did I mean when was the last time they released a set with a UCS-style plaque like that that didn‘t include at least one minifig? (The GWP Batmobile doesn‘t count ) The only pictures we have thus far only show the cover of the instructions. The cover of the Burtonmobile‘s instruction booklet also didn‘t show off the minifigs, so until some shots from within the booklet leak, there‘s still a chance
  23. A new picture of the cover of the Batwing’s instruction booklet has leaked Still no sign of the minifigs though
  24. Have your TSFKATRC s@h pre-orders been dispatched yet? For mine, it still says „contact customer service“. This has happened for other pre-orders as well like the Mario starter pack (due to some Paypal shenanigans), but in those cases, no further action was necessary
  25. In my opinion, Grimmauld Place would make for a pretty weak D2C. The interior would be neat with the family tree and everything, but its exterior is just a regular-looking old building sandwiched between two other regular-looking old buildings. I just fail to see the mass-appeal of such a set. Personally, I think Hogsmeade would be the preferable option
