Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think it could be realised at that price point. However, we’re probably getting ahead of ourselves a bit. If there will be a Hogsmeade D2C set, it’s not going to be released before autumn 2022, unless they unexpectedly change release patterns There’s plenty of other fish to fry before that -

The amount of extra wands you amass when collecting this theme is astonishing, especially when you buy an entire box of the CMF series I was surprised that DA only had two extra ones (a black and a dark tan one). I suppose you could give them to Draco and Hermione respectively -

Agreed. The brand fit just isn’t there, even though Dune isn’t overly violent or anything

Interestingly, the Dewback has new printing, check out stonewars’ article for a comparison picture: https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-star-wars-75290-mos-eisley-cantina-vorgestellt/ The lifestyle video with the person in full Stormie armour is hilarious -

Pretty solid list I’m not all that optimistic about FB3 though since a delay to 2022 definitely isn’t off the table yet. Losing six months of production time and still expecting to make the date simply is not realistic in my eyes... The rest are realistic ideas, but I’m wondering about the minifig potential of some of these, especially the CoS. Just Ron and Hermione? And where would you put the BoH combatants? I knew I forgot some characters, but these are just embarassing. What was I thinking? Some of the rest of your additions I didn’t include because they’re a bit too niche for my liking, especially a lot of the students -

We’re getting incredibly close to a full roster, so close in fact that some of the most desirable minifigs are variants of characters we already have The list of missing characters has become really short now: - Crabbe - Goyle - Blaise - Pomfrey - Karkaroff - Rita Skeeter - Aberforth - random Death Eaters (including Thicknesse, Yaxley etc) - Scabior and other Snatchers And that’s basically it. The rest are variants (DH P2 Sprout, OotP Tonks & Sirius, other Lockhart costumes, Task 2 costumes etc.) -

I disagree, the Bell Towers would be a great way to “end” the Hogwarts expansions. Since interior accuracy (in terms of which part ot the castle the rooms are actually located at) is not all that important anyway, they could easily include quite a few missing rooms in here that wouldn’t make much sense as stand-alone sets. And minifig-wise, we could get quite a few characters that are relevant to the Battle of Hogwarts but unlikely to appear elsewhere (e.g. Blaise, Goyle, and Madam Pomfrey). So want I’d like is basically a remake of 4867 with more details, other rooms and more minifigs -

The Battle of Hogwarts is the climax of the whole story, so not releasing at least one set based on it would be extremely silly. Even the 2011 range got that one right They could pull a 4867 here and release a part of the castle with a regular interior, but with added battle-damage options or explosion play features and a more appropriate minifig selection. These things are not mutually exclusive -

@Seaber, @more awesomer, @Vindicare, @Otherworld, & @Guyon2002: Thanks for your input! The opinions differ, I see. I think I’ll wait till December after all. I forgot how much fun it was in the last couple of years to build a set a day while watching Ashens and NerdCubed opening their crappy calendars and me laughing about how much better my daily gift was compared to whatever they had to suffer through I think they even planned to have a LEGO calendar one year until they realised it was too good for the series -

Just got the advent calendar Out of curiosity: do you shred it to pieces right away or do you wait until December? I was considering the former, but it just feels wrong I’ve also never given in to the temptation in the last 9 years -

I built DA last Thursday Every of the 4 sections is roughly worth 100$, so it shouldn‘t be a problem to create a Gringotts in a similar style for 20$ more. You‘re right in that a regular set cannot really be compared to a D2C set, but I still think they can pull it off at that price point -

It‘s too early for another D2C set though. Sure, DC got two in a row, but at the cost of an entire wave it seems Patterns can change, but I don‘t believe it unless I have good reason to. A 120$ set should be enough to do Gringotts justice -

Po Nudo belongs to the four-eyed Aqualish subspecies, so the Ponda Baba mould wouldn‘t really work for him Besides, he‘s pretty low on the wishlist of CIS members I imagine, well below the likes of Wat Tambor or San Hill even -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
BrickBob Studpants replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I see. But I think we‘ve reached a point where Ideas sets leeching off of a CMF series‘ budget doesn‘t make much sense any more. First off, if a Disney S3 was coming, around half of the spots would have to go to Winnie Pooh characters and the other half to Muppets characters due to the reduced amount of minifigs per series (in case they would really use Muppets moulds for Sesame Street characters in the first place, which sounds very implausible to me). Secondly, the gap between the Ideas sets and their respective CMF series would be way larger than it was with the Steamboat Willie set. Thirdly, we already know about one of the licensed CMF series next year, so unless they up it to 4 series a year, none of this would really add up. In essence, I think it‘s way more likely that the Ideas minifigs either repurpose other parts, finally receive new moulds thanks to an increased budget - which Ideas definitely deserves - or don‘t exist at all à la Adventures Times. I hope they go with the second option -

You sold it as a rumour, not as a prediction These are not the same thing y'know @everyone who preordered the CMF series from minifiguremaddness: The preorders will ship between the 14th and 16th, so a bit earlier than anticipated Can't wait! -

That’s a pleasantly short list It shouldn’t be all that hard to fill in the gaps, with the exception of Peeves of course Crabbe is problematic, but not directly due to his actor’s actions, but rather indirectly through the resulting omission of his from both DH instalments. Sure, he appears in plenty of scenes between PS and HBP, but these certainly won’t be the focus of the upcoming wave.
