LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Agreed. So far, none of the 4+ sets included any new (or even uncommon) minifigs It‘s probably just Poe, BB-8 and a FO Stormie That‘s also what I‘m hoping for Kind of sad that this might be the only new minifig in the entire lackluster wave (minus the Mando set maybe, but we‘ll see about that). -

Colour me skeptical A range of anniversary sets is not unreasonable, but "some guy told me" sounds a bit fishy. And if it's supposed to be a dig at @Guyon2002, he's been a member for a long time and is thus trustworthy -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Exactly. With effects-heavy films like these, there‘s no way they‘ll have a teaser trailer already. I expect a title + cast reveal, which will be an event all by itself if the rumours all pan out -

The way I see it, there’s no way they‘re going to release it this close to Eternals Besides, Sony probably have to shift gears again. Ghostbusters Afterlife has recently been pushed from March to June and some of their other releases like Morbius & Venom 2 will probably have to move too. And given that COVID cases are on the rise again, there‘s no guarantee the film shoot will go as planned -

Nope, these two were revealed during the SDCC in July I think there‘s a decent chance the set might get revealed in one of the upcoming Mando Mondays, especially considering it probably won‘t include anything spoilerific in the slightest -

Which doesn‘t even appear in the films (or does it)? The patronus he used to repel the horde of dementors certainly didn‘t look like a goat But they’re not able to produce trans-clear minifigs *ba-dum-dish* -

I know I‘ve indulged in speculating myself, but at this point it‘s probably for the better to just let them surprise us I still remember last time when people got angry over the Hulkbuster D2C because it wasn‘t what they were expecting. Don‘t expect anything and you can never be disappointed -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
We‘ve been over this with the last Marvel D2C sets already: there‘s no way it‘s going to be based on FF or X-Men. In all likelihood, we will only start getting sets for these two properties once they‘re introduced in the MCU Besides, if they were confident enough to release a 300$ set based on either of the comic renditions, why aren‘t we seeing regular comic-based sets then? -

Classic Kingwong75 right there, that silly ol‘ troll I like what I‘m seeing, even though it‘s not much obviously -

That would definitely be neat Though at this price point, I think they‘ll go for something representative for the MCU as a whole, if it‘s a MCU set in the first place of course. To be honest, I‘m not sure what they could do if it wasn‘t. And don‘t say ‚X-mansion‘ -

@Guyon2002: Thanks for the info! That sounds interesting, I wonder what it could be if it‘s really a Marvel set. I collect all Marvel sets no matter the source material they‘re based on, but personally I hope it‘s a MCU set Avengers Tower or HQ anyone? I know we got both of those recently, but not at 300$ -

Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Spider-Gwen close-ups from the catalogue have leaked as well The "new" hairpiece Doc Ock is using is Venkman's, interesting choice... Spider-Gwen seems to sport the same hood as Miles -

Thanks I really hope it fits, otherwise I have to get creative with my display setup Removing the chimney and antenna could be an option, but as a purist I heavily dislike mutilating sets like that -

They weren't really canon to begin with due to the contradictions with the respective film itself Canon before the Disney era was weird anyway. Nowadays, we have "canon" and "legends" and that's it. Back then, there was a system with levels of canon and if any contradictions were to pop up, say the deaths of Eeth Koth and Even Piell in TCW, which contradicted previous accounts of their respective demises, the source located in the higher level of canon "won". I don't recall the exact order, but the films and TCW were above everything else. The new system makes a lot more sense -

Well, the username checks out (just kidding btw, no offense ) I still can’t shake off the feeling that there’s something weird about this minifig, may just be the picture though Hopefully another copy shows up to ease my paranoia -

According to brickfanatics, the Mandalorian set’s code name is “hero transport”. I think we all now what this means -
REVIEW: 21324 LEGO 123 Sesame Street
BrickBob Studpants replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thank you for this thorough review, @WhiteFang! Very enjoyable read, as usual One question though: how tall is the main building precisely? The description says 24cm, but it could easily be slightly above that. I’m asking because the shelf in the display cabinet I plan to display it on measures exactly 24cm, so this could become a problem -
Huh, interesting. The more you know... However, my other point still stands. They won’t release official instructions for a fan-made MOC

BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
No. It’s a (former) convention exclusive, there’s no way it’ll show up anywhere else And there’s no precedent here since it’s the first time SDCC has been cancelled -
TLG doesn’t own the original submission though, if you want instructions you’d have to ask the fan designer Besides, you’re probably underestimating how long it takes for instructions to be made, especially for a model they didn’t design in the first place I’ve seen that complaint a lot, but I’m really glad they made an affordable set. That thing would have been bigger than the Ghostbusters HQ if they stuck to the fan design! People were already complaining about the amount of huge sets this year, and this would have been the cherry on top This is LEGO Ideas, not LEGO Release-this-fan-design-as-is

Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Probably because they’re a duo, wouldn’t make much sense to include one but not the other (with the exception of anything DH-related, of course). And including both of them in the Slytherin classroom set would’ve been too good to be true -
Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I meant in general, not in regards to the classroom sets, I should’ve rephrased that a bit And as I’ve said, we can’t ignore the kids’ perspective here, so desirable to us is not necessarily the same thing as desirable to the target audience -

Blowing sh*t up, what else Frankly, I don’t care about a single student in that list. None of them did anything of importance and most of them probably didn’t have a single line in the films I wouldn’t mind getting them, but not at the expense of more desirable characters The only missing students on my wishlist are Crabbe and Goyle, any of the rest that happen to show up in future sets are just a bonus to me Maybe Lee too (mainly for his hairpiece), but that’s about it -
Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
From a collector’s perspective, yes. Not so much from the perspective of the target audience. The trio will always be more desirable to kids compared to random students from the other houses, especially in cheap sets like these It’s not a big loss anyway in this particular case, I mean which Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw students do we really need apart from the ones we already have?
