Looks like TLG are revealing a new 2021 wave each day this week. Yesterday, it was Harry Potter and today it was Mario’s turn. Let’s hope SW is next I’ve expressed my disappointment in them, but I still want to see the sets -

I wouldn’t be surprised if those were the same people that also complained about Phasma’s armour NOT being like that And I guarantee, if they had changed Bo-Katan’s armour, people would have whined too. You just can’t win with these people, it’s whinging just for the sake of it Remember the complaints about the previous episode? @Mandalorianknight & @The Stud: Couldn’t agree more with you I hope they continue releasing sets based on all three trilogies, the spin-off films, and the four shows as well. The latter have been abandoned a bit, but I hope they get back to them from time to time -

Cho, Seamus, and Sprout all got new faceprints, but poor Cedric and Snape didn’t The books themselves look a lot better than expected, kudos to the designer(s)! -

Couldn’t agree more, it‘s time for that character to finally get a minifig The episode was awesome, can‘t wait to see where this season is going! I think after the next episode or two, the footage in the trailers is all accounted for, so we‘re basically going in blind for the second half of the season This is the way! -

I just don’t get why TLG doesn‘t commit to the Mandalorian as much as they did to TCW and Rebels Is it because the sets based on Rebels and Resistance didn‘t do so well or because a live-action series is completely new ground for them? Either way, they should’ve realised by now that the demand for more Mando is definitely there. I was just thinking how great this wave could have been if the lineup included 2-3 additiinal Mando sets to continue the trend of “current movie tie-in” sets that had been part of each January wave in the last 5 years (with the exception of 2019, which didn’t have any new Solo sets). It’s not that hard to come up with some ideas: Stormie BP, Moff Gideon’s TIE, a set with Blurrgs, done If Mando was this year’s movie instead of a series, they probably would’ve done that. I hope they will compensate for the current Mando draught in the 2HY wave -

Even if it’s omitted from the set, at least it’s not hard to get since the Mando jet pack mould already exists in pearl dark grey -

It‘s when a set reaches the end of its production cycle. The existing copies are still being sold, but new supply isn’t produced any longer -

That‘s beside the point The point is that secrecy is apparently less of a concern in S2 than it was in S1, indicated by the amount of rumours we have. How else do you explain it? That the Bothan spies got better at their jobs? In think Lucasfilm might just as well have clued TLG in about Cobb Vanth. The cat has been out of the bag for a long time, the only thing a LEGO leak would have done is confirm the rumour, which was very believable (and widespread) even without that. We’ve only learned about the set almost two weeks after the episode aired, so it would‘ve been pretty save to include him (I know, hindsight bias and all that, but still). -

Exactly. There are a lot more rumours for this season than the last one. I‘m not spoiling it here, but Timothy Olyphant playing Cobb Vanth wasn‘t the only exciting rumour, if you catch my drift Compare this to season one, where the only big rumour was that we would learn more about Yoda‘s species. No mention of a baby though. The other big reveal, the darksaber, came completely out of nowhere The main reason are legal disputes, not marketing decisions. Launching a new worldwide streaming service is a lot harder than one may think and there’s a good reason Disney+ is still not available in a lot of places No wonder most streaming competitors in the US don‘t even try to branch out. HBO Max for example still don‘t have any plans to extend their reach beyond the US and instead sell the rights to their exclusive stuff to competitors for the global market. -
Jurassic World 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Three of the Minions sets have been pushed back an entire year, so they’re definitely willing to do it In my opinion, one or two of these sets might still get released and the rest will be delayed until 2022. My reasoning: Most of them have to be based on JWD. Some people have argued about there potentially being two waves next year, but that makes little sense. JW has always had one wave each year. That can change, but don’t expect it to come out of the blue. If that was the case, I’d expect the waves to be further apart. Film-related sets get released BEFORE the film does, meaning the JWD sets were supposed to be released in 1HY (April/May). They did the same thing with FK. TLG has not always been consistent when it comes to delaying sets, so let‘s go though some examples: Desolation of Smaug: last minute decision, released anyway with note on box Batman v Superman: delayed well ahead of time, replaced by wave of Justice League comic sets Minions: hasty decision, some store still got copies F&F: no spoilers, released as planned Ghostbusters Afterlife: released with some delay, again no spoilers And now JWD is somewhere in-between. The sets certainly won’t be completely spoiler-free (e.g. costume or dino designs) and a decision could have been made a lot earlier than in most of the examples above. Not as early as BvS obviously (so a replacement wave is VERY unlikely), but still. Too bad we probably won‘t find out for a while, with the toy fairs being cancelled and all -

I also hope for different hair... in the movie, that is I could never stand Depp!Grindelwald’s silly hairstyle, it makes him look so much less intimidating to me. Sorry, I just couldn’t take him seriously. I was really happy to see him sporting a different ‘do during the escape scene, only for him to revert back to looking like a cockatoo I sincerely hope the new version (fingers crossed for Mikkelsen ) looks better than that. They can keep the costume and the heterochromia though -

In that theme we at least get sets that aren’t rehashes and some new moulds too. That’s more than can be said for the 1HY SW wave Beskar Mando is great and all, but being the (only) highlight of the entire wave sours it for me. Every Mando set released after this one will include that version so it won’t be anything special for long. I won’t be surprised if the exact same minifig shows up in a 2HY set as well. I was among the defenders of the last wave, but this one’s on its own Edit: The Mando set leaked Looks decent. To me it feels like the smallest entry in a whole wave of Mando sets, instead, it’s the only one...*sigh* -

At least the summer wave will be better... Right? RIGHT? ...it‘s going to be a Snowspeeder, A-Wing, Y-Wing and Star Destroyer, isn‘t it Seriously though, I‘m not that cynical usually, but after the last wave, which was surprisingly diverse, this is just a huge letdown. Why have they suddenly forgotten that SW is so much more than just the OT -

True, but why does the whole wave have to be nothing but repeats? The theme has always been full of redesigns, that‘s not a new trend, but I‘ve never complained before because there were either enough new vehicles to counterbalance them or at the very least some interesting minifigs. This wave has nothing of the sorts -

I don‘t know how you guys feel about it, but my disappointment in the Mando set is primarily rooted in the circumstance that it’s the only Mando set in the wave and thus the only set that had any minifig potential to begin with. I‘d be a lot less critical of it if we had other Mando sets to currently look forward to (or anything remotely new for that matter), which we don‘t I put all my hopes for this lackluster wave into this set and that‘s how it turns out... For a long-time collector like me, this is easily the lamest wave yet. No battle packs, all rehashes with just one set that includes something that can be called „new“, probably just one new character (and a pretty boring one at that), and not a single new mould anywhere. What is this?! I hope the summer wave gets A LOT better than this -

I'm also disappointed Good for people who don't already have a copy of the Child figure, but we've had so many Tusken Raiders lately and Beskar Mando is still just a variant at the end of the day. I agree with @Guyon2002, Cobb Vanth is sorely missing here. So underwhelming -

There weren't any rumours AFAIK, I just remember everyone wondering why FB3 kept its 2021 release date while Dune and The Batman were both postponed. Of course nobody really expected it to stay, but it's still weird they waited this long for the announcement. Or maybe they thought they could actually do it, before Depp dropped out
