Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I hope the golden minifigs are completely made up of pearl gold parts, so more like Golden Wu from Ninjago City Gardens as opposed to the ninja in gold outfits, which all have their regular face prints. Moreover, I wonder which versions of these characters they're basing these on. For the golden trio, probably the current PS versions and for Goldemort, it has to be the GoF-onward version -

Around the middle of March. Two years ago it was at the end of February, so it has to be somewhere around that timeframe Has to be a print since ACs don't introduce new moulds. Unless a mould like that pops up elsewhere before, that is... (Porky Pig?) -

OotP and HBP both got two dedicated sets each (the latter one fourth of another set in addition, technically), so 5 sets would actually be more than those two got They of course can't cover everything with that, but a good chunk of it should be achievable. And I imagine they'll release sets based on all 8 films from this point forward instead of cycling through the films again, so we could see more sets from the latter half of the series next year -

Yes Not overly exciting for those who already own DA, but a nice addition for the those who don't Btw, now I'm really glad we got the info in this form rather than having to wait for the minifig leaks, as originally anticipated The guessing game wouldn't have been all that interesting with the anniversary sets -

76939 is only a 40€ set though... That's too small to include either of these two. -

How can you say no to Dudley in his PJs? Especially if they add the piggy tail detail and an appropriate facial expression -

The Hogsmeade set is based on POA I think the fact that we get two waves indicates that the remaining 5 won't be anniversary-themed If they were, it'd make more sense to release all of them at once -

I'm more curious about the PPR difference between 76939 and 76940. I know 4+ sets tend to have a worse PPR (due to larger moulds and a surplus of prints), but this seems a bit weird regardless -

At least it includes the entry to the CoS and an improved Basilisk Alright guys, who wished for the Basilisk by using a monkey's paw? PS Griphook and Dudley in pyjamas (and a pig tail, I hope) aren't new characters, but new versions are welcome too -

I wouldn't be worried too much: It's just for these anniversary sets The techniques have improved significantly since then, so even if they want to invoke some nostalgia, they'll still fit in in with other modern models So this wave basically includes (almost) everything people still wanted from the first three films: Fluffy, Crabbe & Goyle (albeit polyjuiced), Cat Hermione, a proper Basilisk, more random students, PS Griphook, and Hogsmeade Well done. -

These all sound great, but I hope the remaining 5 are based on DH So 3 modular sets and one stand-alone... Wait a minute, this is either a ridiculous coincidence or that random guy on IG was actually right And I'm glad they took a page out of the Ninjago book by adding golden minifigs instead of classic ones with an anniversary logo on the back -

Agreed. I imagine the social media team isn‘t informed about every single upcoming set TLG have up their sleeves, but they’re surely aware of what gets released at least 4 months in advance. In essence, I expect them to know a bit more than we do If so, this basically confirms they‘re not doing Grimmauld Place, at least not anytime soon and certainly not with a feature like that -

I like the way you’re thinking I know I would, simply because I prefer the film adaptations over the source material Don’t get me wrong, I definitely wouldn’t mind a movie-based playset, but the DCEU has failed to give us anything viable in that regard, so vehicles from the Burton-era it is -

They could easily fill more than one CMF series with stuff missing from the MCU. Just look at @just2good’s and @Ashnflash’s CMF drafts, there are more than enough options available -

TLG share MOCs and other stuff all the time on their social media channels, there isn’t any hidden meaning behind that. Or do you think there are sets involving Amanda Gorman, a fireplace, or a guy in a bathtub on the horizon? -

Besides, the general public gives a flying Kre-O about Marvel comics. The MCU is where it’s at. Ever notice how the Marvel Studios logo doesn’t feature the comic book pages any more? I don’t mind comic-based sets at all, but D2C sets and CMF series should be dominated by the MCU in my opinion, and rightfully so. -

The way I see it, there are four scenarios in total, and they’re all very positive except for one, which isn’t that bad either: Korg is included in the D2C set and the 2HY sets are based on the MCU. Definitely the best-case scenario in my book Sorry, comic purists Korg is in the D2C set and the 2HY sets are based on something else. Less good, but a $300 set that involves Korg has to be worthwhile, given the limited options. Korg is part of the 2HY sets. Also a good scenario, because that would increase the chances of multiple MCU sets in June. They wouldn’t just release one random MCU “legacy” set that just happens to feature Korg, would they? The D2C set is very likely to be MCU-inspired anyway, given the theme’s track record. Worst case: Korg is neither in the D2C set nor the 2HY ones. They could still all be MCU-based, but there wouldn’t be any solid ground for speculation any more. An inclusion in the Shang-Chi sets as some have suggested isn’t impossible, but I doubt they’d give away such a big surprise like that in a toy (I know they spoiled Giant-Man in CACW, but Korg would be WAY more out of left field in comparison) -

Despite a surprisingly small amount of accepted projects, I‘m very happy with the results It‘s great to see the Sonic set finally being approved, congrats @toastergrl! Can’t wait to see the final product and especially how Eggman/Robotnik will turn out. And even though he wasn’t part of the original submission, I hope they manage to include Tails too, now that the mould restriction has been lifted. The Starry Night is one of my favourite pieces of art, so to see it getting turned into a set this creative is just amazing I hope they keep both the Van Gogh minifig and the miniature painting in the final version. Quite a succesful round I think. Too bad for the 34 rejected projects, but most of them stood little chance to begin with -

Not really. I highly doubt the 60’s show has an avid fanbase among today’s 5-year olds, but that‘s in no way necessary The show’s versions of Batman and Joker are instantly recognisable as such, even to a preschooler. In fact, they may be more appropriate for the target audience of these sets compared to other versions they‘ve depicted in previous 4+ or Duplo sets
