  1. I think it was meant to be released anyway So far, we’ve only had one example where a wave was conceived to replace a postponed movie-based one; the 2015 JL sets. In that case, they had a lot more time to prepare it. Moreover, a comic-inspired JL wave and BvS had a lot more in common than a singular 4+ set based on the 60s show and a wave based on The Batman, so this would hardly serve as a replacement
  2. That was probably just an accident To be fair, the 2011 version wasn’t that much better actually. It’s my least favourite minifig among the 2010-2011 range
  3. MY EYES, IT BURNS! Thanks for reminding us of that monstrosity What on Earth were they thinking There, FTFY It was originally from the GoF sets in 2005, but then they reused it in 2007 for whatever reason
  4. Fair enough The only thing that worries me is the reduced minifig count for S21 and the upcoming Looney Tunes one. If the potential third series keeps its regular spot in autumn, there will be 3 series before it (Marvel, S22 and an unknown one) to show if 12 becomes the new standard for all series I actually don't want them to do that, unless it's characters we have some form of official visual reference for, like the Hogwarts founders. Displaying a regular HP minifig next to a made-up design would probably look pretty weird. Speaking of Peeves: what was that odd minifig even based on in the first place? I'm pretty sure that's not what Rik Mayall's Peeves would've looked like
  5. Simpsons and TLBM. Granted, the latter definitely would’ve outstayed its welcome with a third series, but Simpsons could’ve had one if the second series hadn’t bombed
  6. Could HP be the theme to finally break the licensed CMF series curse? Unless Disney breaks it first of course
  7. Wait, this thing is real?! Someone at LEGO loves Venom to an unhealthy degree
  8. I guess you’re referring to HP and DC, the rest seem to be doing fine SW is a huge step up from the January wave and Marvel seems to be on a winning streak as well with the Shang-Chi and Eternals sets
  9. Isn’t that the same werewolf head mould they’ve been using since 2012?
  10. *sad official LEGO fortune teller team noises* They could still release a set later-on, even though the show’s popularity obviously won’t sustain itself for that long. That’s the problem with the one-off shows If you’re referring to Funko, they just throw everything and their grandmother to the wall to see what sticks
  11. Touché. But the most important characters we’re still missing are mostly from GoF onwards If Molly, Lucius, and Viktor don’t deserve new face prints, neither do these two
  12. The fact we haven’t heard anything about the minifigs yet luckily doesn’t imply anything, so the sets could still be worth getting based on the minifig selection alone Not getting my hopes up though, especially not for anything post-POA
  13. Did he? I thought that was just mere guesswork on our side Lockhart (can’t have too many versions of him), Sinestra, and Cat Hermione. The rest are a nice bonus since I’m mostly looking forward to the Basilisk and the Fluffy
  14. Funko make products on virtually anything that can’t escape fast enough Personally, I’d be ok with WandaVision CMF minifigs
  15. If they’re not placeholders, the Fluffy set wins the award for worst minifig selection in the HP reboot
  16. Looney Tunes? Bold? The Looney Tunes are not some obscure cartoon, they’re on the same level of pop culture iconicity as the classic Disney cartoons And speaking of nostalgia: the DC CMF series wasn’t filled to the brim with obscure characters and versions, right?
  17. I’m not so sure about that, just because they have prices and part counts doesn’t mean they know the sets’ names (or more). They’ve also had the same information about other unknown sets for quite a while now (Mario & Marvel for instance)
  18. It’s one year for regular sets. Also, we don’t know if any sets were even planned for 2022 in the first place and if there were, they might as well have pushed them back to 2023
  19. The way I see it, there’s the following options to explain our minifig situation: Falconfan & Guyon don’t know the minifig selection but didn’t mention anything in order to prevent us from rising our hopes too much again (since mediocre sets can be saved by a good minifig selection) The set selection is so poor that even the best minifigs couldn’t save it, so mentioning them would be completely pointless (impossible in my book, but that’s just me ) They do know the minifig selection, and it’s just as poor as the set selection There simply aren’t any minifigs If the minifig selection was actually good, I think either of our informants would’ve mentioned that. Maybe it’s option 1, but I’m not counting on that
  20. Am I the only one who finds it weird that the quality of the minifig selection hasn’t been mentioned before, not even once? I mean, good minifigs could save even the most mediocre of sets, so this is somewhat concerning. Maybe it’s just a collection of brickbuilt magical creatures at various price points after all
  21. As far as I remember, it was indeed the set selection that’s disappointing, not the actual quality of the sets Exactly. No matter how detailed and well-constructed Dobby’s sock was, nobody would buy it, except for us clowns of course
  22. I know the feeling. In my case, it takes at least 5 hours in any direction to get to the next LEGO store by train I was so happy to hear about the new store opening in Stuttgart this year, only to realise it would still take me 5 hours to actually get there. My dream is to see a store opening in Switzerland one day, but I’m not holding my breath That would actually be pretty cool. Pretty bland in terms of minifigs I would imagine, but Fang would easily make up for that. Plus a golden Hagrid despite inquiring a ridiculous amount of recoloured pieces
  23. Just keep in mind that the main attraction this year would have been the postponed JWD sets, so a vast majority of the theme’s budget must’ve gone into them. The 4 we’re getting now are far less likely to introduce new moulds. The only new ones I’m expecting are moulds that were initially intended to be featured in the JWD wave of sets
  24. Not a bad idea actually, but I'm not sure if Fawkes is important enough to warrant a set that big. If Hedwig can be realized at 40$, I think Fawkes could easily be done at 80$ max I'd buy that in a heartbeat
