Exactly. And there’s yet another difference: the Ninjago and Star Wars anniversary sets were / are basically normal sets with special boxart and added minifigs. The HP sets commit way more to the anniversary idea by having the sets themselves be throwbacks too, style-wise. I wouldn’t mind too much if we still had our regular wave, but NO, it had to be TWO anniversary waves

And that’s not a bad thing, we’re not robots after all I’ve never made any statements about the film itself, my grievances are with some of the obnoxious people who made it happen, some story beats / character depictions carried over from BvS, the forced dark- and edginess of it all, Leto’s joke of a Joker, and Steppenwolf’s over-the-top redesign

Neither Ninjago nor Star Wars did that, and those two at least had consistent output during those years they’re celebrating whereas HP had substantial gaps Next year’s wave(s) better be AMAZING to make up for making us wait this long

It’s not necessarily a misunderstanding Sure, a picture of PoA McGonagall would have been more accurate, but we already know thanks to the catalogue that the minifig won’t sport the hat from the Hogsmeade scene but a hairpiece instead. So a DH picture was a better way to tease the actual minifig, even though it’s technically the wrong version

He's a tricksy Hobbit who either gives hints about upcoming leaks or leaks stuff himself in a very ambiguous manner. Last year for instance he revealed the Molly and Arthur minfigs by having them in the background of a regular innocent picture of some other random HP figures

What Guyon and FalconFan did was public service by allowing us to adjust our expectations. I'm not sure how most of us would've reacted if we weren't warned beforehand. Basically, just keep an eye on the blissfully unaware comments sections (either on youtube or LEGO news sites) once the set list drops. I can already promise you, those discussions won't be civil

Depends on the size of the minifig roster. If it’s 16 (or more) again, I wouldn’t mind them inserting 4 FB characters. If it’s 12 as the current series (plural), I’d rather they continue to ignore it

I change my mind, now I WANT a golden Hagrid If we’re not getting any of the characters on my wishlist (Kreacher, Bill, OotP Death Eater, OotP Sirius, Aberforth, Scrimgeour, Thicknesse, Scabior, Yaxley, Mundungus, Karkaroff, Skeeter), which has become extremely likely, I’d appreciate them at least finishing the golden minifig collection

4 recolours is indeed a lot to ask for, but given that the remaining sets probably won’t introduce that many new moulds anyway (if any at all), they may as well spend their budget on a golden Hagrid The only characters/creatures I can think of that could benefit from a slice of that budget don’t appear in the first three instalments and are thus pretty unlikely to make an appearance this year.
