  1. They‘re very clearly not. As the name already says, UCS sets are intended for collectors as highly-detailed display models while regular playsets are designed with children in mind. I fail to see how that‘s supposed to be the same thing
  2. Not a bad idea, but they seriously would have to come up with some techniques to make sure the middle wings don‘t droop after a while, an issue that has plagued both of the previous models and could be even worse at this scale Maybe a sort of technic skeleton hidden within the wings, but then the set would have to be pretty large
  3. I wonder what accessory he‘ll get, if that bit of information is correct in the first place. Considering some of the other accessories in this series (like Goki), it could almost be anything from the show, regardless of how much sense it makes Sparky anyone?
  4. Yeah, I wonder why they went with AOTC Expecting a UCS gunship to be based on ROTS is like expecting a UCS AT-ST based on TESB
  5. Good question. The Falcon is pretty flat, so that one's a lot easier to handle in that regard That's definitely what Jang would say Oh btw, another magnificently fake 2022 set list has just surfaced on IG. Once again, from a user with one post. Getting desperate again, huh
  6. Nope, but it baffles me every time @everyone who didn't jump (gun)ship: Where/how will you display yours? Since the usual approach won't cut it, I'll put mine on a Detolf shelf in the middle of the room The wingspan is a big larger than expected, so I hope it'll still work out
  7. Indeed. Also, why are people this surprised about it? I know not everyone is following the rumours, but we've known for months how large the set would be (canopy size, part count, price) and even the minifig selection had been rumoured for months, and turned out to be accurate. Were people secretly hoping for all of the information to be false? If so, they don't have anyone to blame but themselves. Funny how some people only seem to believe the rumours they personally like
  8. Where can I request this to be my new title? Back then, no UCS sets included minifigs. At least Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter featured R4-P17's head And what's so terrible about that set?
  9. I‘d put this in the same category as misprints. Can be valuable in the eyes of some hardcore collectors, but there is no inherent value to it, unlike the Osprey or the Finch Dallow minifig
  10. ...scalpers will go crazy, won't they? Good thing there's an order limit on s@h Pretty ironic for a forum about construction toys Agreed. I'm always curious about background info like that
  11. You mean because it's just online and has little chance of affecting anything in real life? To me at least, it's about principles. Online death threats rarely mean anything either, but you still have to treat them somewhat seriously. Same thing here. Also, people seem to forget that some of the designers frequent forums like ours (I think Hans Schlömer does too, doesn't he? I faintly remember him commenting about the Hoth set). Imagine putting a lot of care into designing a huge set like that and then reading comments that call for you to be fired. Won't happen, but still not a nice thing to read, is it
  12. Ridiculous statements deserve to be ridiculed. Feel free to disagree, but I've seen plenty of comments online calling for the designers and other employees to be fired over this (some even in this thread). This is so common in the SW fandom that terms like "the fandom menace" or "fandumb" have good reason to exist I'm not saying the set is above criticism, but I draw the line when someone's livelihood is threatened over something like this
  13. Sam‘s also smiling, and Spidey too, maybe They‘re just that happy to be part of the first-ever Marvel CMF series
  14. „Dear Mr Schlömer, For the unforgivably vile crime against humanity of publicly stating that nobody cares about the differences between two CLONES with yellow markings, you are hereby sentenced to death. Also, you‘re fired.“ The Star Wars fandumb in a nutshell
  15. So what you're telling us is that this is an empty picture? Sorry, I had to
  16. Nothing shady about that IMO, it‘s just how business works: if you want more of the thing, buy the thing If you want to see a sequel to movie X, watch movie X
  17. I assume you mean ST? Well, call me ‚no-one‘ then I definitely wouldn‘t mind a UCS T-70 X-Wing (Poe‘s black one in particular), TIE Silencer or Kylo‘s shuttle. And technically, we already have a ST UCS set After how well the last one was received, I doubt that
  18. It‘s the nickname for the 1x2 masonry brick, aka the brick that looks like a real-life stack of bricks in a wall
  19. Unsurprisingly, if you want more PT UCS sets, you’d better buy the Gunship https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-star-wars-designers-if-you-want-more-prequels-sets-buy-75309-republic-gunship/ Of course this means that a potential follow-up is pretty far away, considering how long UCS sets take to design Venator in 2023 anyone?
  20. Not sure if this has been brought up before, but a white version of the 1x2 „brick brick“ is available on bricks and pieces. So far, it hasn‘t been found in any sets, so it’s very likely to debut in Peach‘s castle (or maybe in the Queer Eye set, whichever gets released first)
  21. Frankly, that’s their own fault. UCS sets have existed for more than twenty years now, so people should’ve known what that entails
  22. Of course it’s just unpopular in comparison to the other two choices, but I’m a bit surprised how far behind it ended up It was always going to lose, no doubt about that
  23. I wish there was a way to like comments on EB Now, I’m imagining Pitt, Clooney, or DiCaprio yelling at their managers on the phone to make sure they get a role that guarantees them a minifig “I’ve told you before, Dave, nobody cares about Oscars anymore, where’s my &@€@!?’€ MINIFIG?!?!”
  24. A lot of licensed CMF series have coincided with a D2C set (Simpsons, HP, Disney), which is why people think it’s a prerequisite, which is not really the case. It’s more of a myth actually: There’s no Looney Tunes D2C set, and yet we got a series. Same goes for last year’s DC series or TLBM S2. The Marvel series is specifically based on the Disney+ shows, without any tie-in sets for three of these shows Whether there’s a HP S3 has nothing to do with the existence of a D2C set next year (or lack thereof)
  25. Seeing the name of a polybag you designed as a sticker on a real polybag must indeed be pretty surreal Still not sure how that happened. Maybe the store owner found your custom, thought it was real, entered the set number and name into their database, and just didn‘t update the entry when the real polybag got revealed
