LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That wouldn‘t make any sense. An exclusive torso print here and there is fair game for a con-exclusive set, but this? Those two figs have 7 unique new prints between them (2x legs, 2x torsos, 2x helmets, 1x armour) and three recoloured parts (2x helmets, 1x armour). There‘s no way they‘d be buried in an exclusive set like that -

Wouldn‘t bet on that, the first one didn‘t do so well apparently And even if it did, yearly follow-up series aren‘t a thing any more by the looks of it If I had the choice between a multibillion dollar franchise and an industry on the verge of death, I know what I would go for -
I was under the impression that the rumours were all referring to the Ecto-1 D2C set Haven't heard any rumours about playsets

Eh, close enough Still not paying $400 for that set, especially now that it went from having an exclusive head to just one exclusive facial expression Now that I think about it, a complete reuse wouldn’t have made much sense anyway. They haven’t produced enough of that head in 2019 for it to suddenly reappear in a CMF series two years later -

Holy smokes, you’re right! I’ve been waiting for two years for this to happen! Now I appreciate this series even more -

Wait, you haven’t bought it yet? You must have the patience of a saint then The only time I couldn’t get a set right at release (as an adult) nearly crushed my spirits In Switzerland, the set is available at one toy store at least (FCW), so might be a region-specific thing. Or there’s no retailer willing to carry it in Norway -

They look amazing Too bad Gator Loki doesn’t have its crown as rumoured, but the mould is absolutely adorable! And finally some really good faceprints for T’Challa and Loki Just a nitpick: Why is the packaging blue again?! This was the perfect opportunity to have the first red one since S7, but nope They really seem to have a thing for shades of blue it seems -

Bandmates S2 will be released as planned, according to brickfanatics: https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-confirms-the-fate-of-vidiyo-43108-bandmates/ Good to hear that it’s still coming, a cancellation definitely would have sucked

DC Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Undoubtedly. The issue I see here is that the new film is R-rated and the 2016 one wasn’t. Even purely comic-inspired tie-in sets may have been somewhat iffy, which is probably the same reason Deadpool hasn’t shown up in any sets since his theatrical debut (SDCC exclusives notwithstanding). It is not unreasonable to assume that even an indirect tie-in may be perceived as a way to advertise the new film to kids, which could cause some controversies. Remember the Karens complaining about Deadpool 1 & 2 or Sausage Party not being kid-friendly to the point managers had to put up big “NOT FOR KIDS” signs? -

That’s what the rumour says No minifigs, but that’s no biggie as long as the characters (Peach in particular) are somehow represented -

I wish D2C minifigs leaked as reliably as the ones from regular sets. It’s no fun speculating about a set without anything to latch onto -
Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nope. The initial rumour was September, but that may be slightly incorrect as some of the leakers have hinted at. The following months are all pretty busy in terms of D2C set releases This is the roadmap as I understand it: September: Hogwarts Icons (rumour) Peach’s Castle (rumour) October: Pickup Truck (official) Tumbler (rumour) November: AT-AT (rumour) Titanic (rumour) Unknown: Camp Nou (rumour) Queer Eye (not sure if it’s a D2C set though) Winter Village set (no rumours AFAIK, but there has to be one) So some months will provide us with at least three D2C sets, and thus the Icons collection could easily be released in, say October with Camp Nou taking the other September spot December I omitted on purpose because I don’t think they’ve ever released one then (maybe they should start though, looking at that list ) -

No. I’d rather wait for the eventual reboot set in the MCU -

Ain’t looking good for a Gringotts set anytime soon, but at least we know not to expect anything in that regard next year I’d rather any hope get shot down this early instead of unwarranted hype building up again. Still looking forward to whatever they have up their sleeves for 2022, but no Gringotts and little chance for DH sets does dampen the excitement -

Can’t say I’m all that surprised, but I hope S2 of the bandmates will still be available at some places at least The minifigs this theme had to offer were amazing! Although, the first thought that went through my mind after reading the news was, how long it would take until the first comment would show up along the lines of “AnD NoW BrInG BaCk [nostalgic theme only AFOLs care about]”. I think time distances this short have yet to be named by physicists

According to @Brick Clicker, the Home Alone set will cost $100, with a rumoured release date of September (end of the month though) Thank [deity of your preference] it's only $100 I realise some people will be disappointed, but I don't have space for a $200+ model of Kevin's house (being a bit selfish here, I know ) Do you think it will have the Disney branding? I hope so, makes it a lot easier to place it in my collection right next to the previous four Disney Ideas sets (I'm pedantic like that) -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Pretty safe guesses overall, but I hope you’re right Too bad we probably won’t see pictures of these sets for a while, unless an intern makes a whoopsie again, like the accidental Eternals reveal At first, I was hoping for a SDCC reveal, but since DC and Marvel have both recently announced they skip the event again, I doubt TLG will reveal anything on their own. They had nothing to show last year, so why would this year be any different? Maybe at DC Fandome? -

BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Of course I don’t have any numbers to back this up, but I think it’s not unreasonable to assume that there is a sizable amount of younger fans who got into SW via TCW. By that I mean kids who never had any contact with the movies before and used the show as a jump-in point After all, there are kids that only watch animated content up to a certain point… I know because I was one of them. Back in the 90’s, I barely watched any live-action films before my parents convinced me to watch the OT in preparation for TPM. I first refused, having trauma caused by the brain-worm scene from Star Trek II, but once I reluctantly sat down I was a changed person -

Agreed. I wouldn’t mind a third minifig based on one of the many characters he’s played I also hope for a Gordon minifig. Still bummed Simmons’ version never got the minifig treatment (same goes for Irons’ Alfred), so I hope Wright’s does -

AoU Vision: “Why is the stone blue, it should be yellow!” WV Vision: “Why is the stone yellow, it should be blue!” It’s sort of like poetry, it rhymes But seriously, that’s a great minifig Too bad the first impression wasn’t as good with that badly-lit picture
