  1. Nah, "Rumours, Discussion, & Semantics" Have we finally reached the point with this theme where we're actually rooting for Batman monster trucks? Things have gotten more desperate than I thought Slate of upcoming DC films, please save us!
  2. Exactly. "I've heard that person X said that Klarion is coming in a set" is a rumour. "I think Klarion is coming because he's mentioned in a book description" is not a rumour, it's speculation (which could then be turned into a false rumour, but that's beside the point). Those terms are not interchangeable
  3. As I've pointed out in the 2021 thread, the Batman Beyond trademark blurb was already there last October, if not longer. There aren't enough snapshots of the site on the wayback machine to pinpoint when it was added It's definitely intriguing, but not exactly what I would call a rumour
  4. After seeing the episode, I’ve changed my mind about Hopefully, it doesn’t take too long for the set to finally be revealed
  5. This could be little more than a glorified cameo though, so not necessarily something set-worthy
  6. Her baby version from the 2019 sets is light bluish grey, so here‘s hoping they’ve also fixed her grown-up counterpart’s colour scheme in the meantime
  7. That looks excellent When that hairpiece was first revealed, I was wondering if there's another character it would fit, and now I have an answer
  8. I'm still miffed about that false rumour from 2018 It can't be that hard to finally give us a Mosasaurus, can it? It's basically the secret star of the new trilogy!
  9. In a vacuum, I'd agree, but for selfish reasons I'd go with Indy The main reason is the current set-up in my LEGO room, if LOTR ever came back I'd have to rearrange an ungodly amount of sets and I wouldn't much fancy that Replace one of them with a KotCS set and this would be an excellent wave
  10. The first person to suggest a microscale Gringotts / DA will be launched directly into the Sun The more I think about it, the more I start to believe that this may actually be it and we finally get our long-awaited Gringotts set. I swore I wouldn't get tricked into expecting it AGAIN, but third time's a charm, innit The only other idea I've heard so far that's actually worthy of being the new flagship set of the theme is a motorized Hogwarts Express with station, but I have more of a hard believing that compared to a $470 Gringotts. The train itself sure is iconic, but Hogsmead station, which would have to make up a decent portion of the set, not so much. Actually, I have no idea what it looks like without looking it up I'd rather see a new HE as a $120 set or so as opposed to the new ultimate HP set
  11. If we‘re lucky, we might hear the set names for the first half of the list rather soon, but three conditions need to be met for that to occur: The toy fairs can be held, which is far from a certainty at this point Some Bothans are willing to sacrifice themselves to bring us this information The sets actually get released in June
  12. Maybe it’s just me, but this looks a lot larger than WWW though
  13. It shouldn‘t be taller, but a lot wider, and deeper too A $300 Gringotts (including interior), a $50 dragon and $120 shop (Leaky Cauldron?) combined in a single set seems feasible to me
  14. In my opinion, the film would be the ideal excuse to release minifig-based sets. With clear movie branding, there shouldn‘t be any confusion between the subthemes and since the course-building system has been firmly established by now, self-cannibalising also shouldn‘t be an issue
  15. It looked like the third wave was cancelled, so the consensus was that the theme sold poorly, and yet here we are with at least one of the sets still coming out, same set number and all… Maybe it sold better than we gave it credit for
  16. The day they announce a $470 Quidditch set is the day I stop being a completionist No offense, but to me that's the absolute worst option available since I view Quidditch as little more than a silly high school ball game that mostly serves as filler / action scene fodder. I'd unironically rather buy a $470 Dobby's sock
  17. Indeed, but all discussion in regards to the theme has been moved to the historical forum, even back in 2012 (or 2011 even, when the theme was first announced). I assume this was done to generate more interest for and activity in that subforum
  18. In contrast to the mechs, the Gargantos set is already being sold in some places (I got my copy online last week). They could still recall it of course, but the flaw is not that noticeable I think. Maybe I‘m a bit unobservant, but I haven‘t noticed a single thing while building it
  19. While I personally prefer the final set for its iconicity, people seem to be pretty unhappy with the change. I have a suspicion it was Sega who was the deciding factor here At least though negotiations with them regarding which game to base the set on would explain why it took longer for the decision to be made
  20. If this is true, 2022 could be an amazing year If there‘s one theme I wish I could resurrect, it‘s this one
  21. Minecraft doesn‘t seem to be overly popular here on EB, I mean the thread isn‘t even pinned Too bad, as I really like that theme
  22. I‘ll take this with a LOT of salt. How much you ask?
  23. Took me a while to assemble all the sets, busy times @Brickroll: The poltergust does indeed work with Mario All power-up suits are compatible with both characters The Luigi’s mansion theme music it plays is appropriate, but it loops too quickly. I‘ve got a couple of REALLY weird extra parts in the Big Urchin set, namely two red 2x2 plates with rounded bottoms, a tan one, a blue 1x2 plate with jumper, and a light bluish grey slope with studless cutout Maybe it‘s the standard for that set, but I have to wait for the bricklink inventory to find out Or for the brickset one to find out the amount of each part that is supposed to be included. Definitely a major drawback of not having regular instruction booklets
  24. Agreed. It was light on actual Christmas-related stuff, but there’s only so many Christmas tree, present, fireplace, and food item variants they can make before it gets stale The last two covered these grounds very well, so it was time for something new, and the calendar definitely delivered. The Hogwarts Express ticket and Harry’s cake alone are worth it, especially since they were unlikely to show up elsewhere. For future ACs, I hope they keep this year’s style
