Well, let’s go through the options, shall we? Microscale Hogwarts part 2: makes sense superficially, but this set couldn’t work on its own because the most iconic parts of Hogwarts were already covered by the 2018 set. Also, it’s too expensive just to be a non-stand-alone add-on set. Only people who own the original would buy this, which isn‘t the best business strategy Hogwarts Express: Too expensive for a Crocodile-scale model (i.e. in a track-incompatible scale). If it’s compatible with regular tracks, it’s still too costly, even with the unremarkable Hogsmeade station included (sorry Hogsmeade station fans ) Quidditch Pitch: Too niche I would argue for the flagship set and again, too expensive for a patch of dirt and a couple of towers Any location/vehicle with less screentime than Mundungus Fletcher (i.e. Durmstrang ship, Quidditch world cup stadium, etc): Nowhere near iconic enough to deserve the top spot Buildable objects: too experimental for a set of this size and most of the obvious items associated with HP were already covered last year. And don’t tell me any of you actually want a $500 Horcrux collection Gringotts/DA expansion: iconic enough for the spot (also thanks to the WW section of the Universal park), reasonable size and something A LOT of people would buy in a heartbeat. In this price class, you have to play it safe UCS Dobby’s sock: THE ULTIMATIVE SET OF COURSE, INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS RIGHT NOW. I DON‘T CARE IF IT MAKES SENSE JUST DO IT -

The main difference is that the Icons set was only a $250 set while this year’s is almost double the price I can’t imagine them doing something this experimental with the new flagship set of the entire theme. Also, thanks to said set, the “buildable object” niche has been well served already -

Those aren’t licensed though And Warhammer clashes a tiny wee bit with TLG’s values, doesn’t it?

I still don’t get why they suddenly changed the numbering system for the 6-packs. Them having different numbers than the 36-packs makes sense for inventory purposes and whatnot, but why use regular set numbers? And not even ones that make any sense? That’s like if they started to sell those 3-in-1 bundle sets under regular set numbers, causing them to appear as part of our normal set lists. …could you imagine the delicious outrage -

I don’t mind neither the soft reboot nor the non-playsets, so that part will never require forgiveness from me. What I do take issue with however is the unforgivable way they’re treating DH A single CMF minifig and a costume variant snuck into a Moments set won’t do, lads A nice dragon perched ontop of a certain bank would be an excellent start to make things right though -

That’s pretty much the consensus Other ideas have been thrown around, but none of them come even close in terms of feasability, desirability, or iconicity -

Yeah, we shouldn’t pay too much attention to these code names. Just because they’re labelled differently doesn’t mean they’re not based on JWD as well While there is speculation about non-JWD sets being part of the wave, but there’s no tangible information to support it -

Yeah, you’re right. And those older versions are still pretty relevant since we’ve seen them in Endgame. I definitely wouldn’t mind some updates And how about incorporating some elements from the Battle of New York, like a proper Leviathan? -

The $500 set being an Avengers Tower is by far the most likely option in my opinion for multiple reasons: 2022 marks the 10th anniversary of the theme (and the original Avengers sets), so what better way to celebrate it than a huge D2C set based on the film that kickstarted it? The tower’s iconic enough to deserve a set at that price point Its size justifies a set this large. In comparison, a $500 Sanctum e.g. strikes me as overkill since the building is not THAT tall. It’s a regular-looking building (the facade at least) rather than a sizeable tower What I’m sceptical about if this ends up happening is the minifig selection. I don’t think there are many characters left associated with scenes located in or around the tower that haven’t been done before. Or maybe they pull a Daily Bugle and include every named Avengers-related character they can think of -

I still think the bounty hunter we‘re talking about has a decent chance to appear in the Throne Room set. The issue is that we don‘t know how the leakers arrived at the conclusion that the remaining minifigs are “two bounty hunters“. Did they see a prelim or was it just a description in the first place? What strikes me as odd is that we don‘t have a description of the set itself, which could mean that nobody has seen actual pictures Or they did see prelims, but the minifigs were all placeholders and both unknowns were merely labelled as “bounty hunter”. Either way, it may be little more than wishful thinking, but I’m not ready to rule that character out just yet And if it’s indeed him, that would leave us with the question who the other character is -

Wow, that comment aged like fine milk After the new episode I still hope for a certain fearsome character to show up as one of the two alleged bounty hunters in the Throne Room set We only have two confirmed sets: 75326 Bob Fett's Throne Room for $100 and 75325, an unknown $70 set -

Wouldn‘t surprise me at all since the longer legs (and arms) kind of clash with the minifig‘s design philosophy. While I like the Toy Story 3 minifigs, I can see why they never brought the longer extremities back. Besides, I‘m not convinced they’d work with the Na‘vi anyway. Wouldn‘t their torsos and heads look comically small? -

I think you mixed something up. NYTF was the one where we used to get ALL of the pictures. The order was always the same: descriptions from London, some pictures in Nuremberg, all the pictures in NY The Jack Sparrow minifig was snuck into a display at SDCC -

That would be a pretty weird set though All that happens is that Bellatrix sets it ablaze as a side thing (or as a final F-U after killing Dumbledore) while the Death Eaters retreat? Not sure how to fit that into a playset scenario. With the Burrow Attack, at least there’s a whole action scene that takes place around it -

LTF will happen (as they’ve confirmed on Jan 5th) while the fate of the Nuremberg toy fair is still up in the air. They seem to be confident, but we shall see. To be honest though, TLG don’t really need toy fairs to reveal the sets. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they just put them on s@h around the time NYTF would’ve taken place
