LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I know, but you say it: he’s an arrogant a*** throughout, which is exactly what bothers me I have, and enjoyed it a lot! I don’t mind the show presenting a darker side to the rebellion, I just wish there was a different main character -

Haven’t seen it, but my gut says no, as none of the upcoming sets are rumoured to feature Iron Man. The Quinjet theoretically could, but it’s a bit too early for January leaks -

Good point! Can’t wait to see more details, especially the interior! If it’s anything like the AT-AT’s, we’re in for a treat -

Greyness is not the issue for me. The issue is that Andor has nothing redeeming about him, and we already know his redemption will not come before RO. Why does that petty low-life criminal deserve 24 episodes?! It’d be different if the show was about him getting what he deserves (like most crime shows) or about him becoming a hero, but we know neither will happen in this show. I’d much rather this be a show about the early formation of the rebellion that focuses on characters worthy of that sort of screentime. Luthen is also ruthless, but at least he’s way more likable -

While I admit that the third episode was better (only had seen the first two when I made my previous post), I’m still not fully onboard with this show. My main issue is Andor himself. I disliked him in Rogue One and I outright hate him in this show (no offense to Diego Luna though). And you can’t even argue that there’s gonna be any character development to make him more likable because he’s a prick here and a cowardly backstabbing a** at the beginning of Rogue One, so that’s not gonna change You may call him an anti-hero or something, but I call someone who . I root for him to get his comeuppance, but of course that’s not gonna happen Hoping for as much screentime of Mon Mothma, Luthen, and Saw as possible to make this more enjoyable for me. Don’t need any further sets though, unless they feature Mothma or Saw. -

I’m good, actually This is the first SW show I don’t really see the appeal of. Way too dreary for my liking. It may dress and sound like SW, but so far it doesn’t feel like it to me. Seriously, a Can’t see any kids enjoying this, so no wonder we’re not getting additional sets for now -

Looks excellent The Blurrg does indeed look a bit Microfighter-ish, but apart from that, not much to complain about! -

Not a bad idea, but I’d prefer them to stick to one D2C a year (perhaps with a break here and there, like in 2019). The list of potential D2C sets is rather short compared to Star Wars or Marvel / DC, so they’d burn through it rather quickly if they increased the pace Repeats (and extremely niche out-there ideas) notwithstanding, this is pretty much it: UCS Flying Ford Anglia UCS Knight Bus Gringotts / DA expansion Quidditch pitch -

Now that we’ve seen the final WF set, I wonder why they still try to keep it a secret. Shuri being the new BP is no surprise at all (given the same thing happens in the comics) and neither is the fact Ironheart Mk 2 appears. Otherwise they wouldn’t have called the other suit “Mk 1”, would they -

I hope they bring back the old parts, maybe with updated printing (even though the previous one aged like wine and doesn't need any update in my opinion). A brick-built one would be hilariously atrocious -
A Vidiyo-styled triceratops minifig head has shown up on IG If I remember correctly, they said a different version of the theme would debut in 2023. Could this be it? I mean it can‘t be a prototype for a cancelled set since the piece has finalised-looking printing and everything, so it has to be from a 2023 set

Because I mostly care about licensed themes An unlicensed dino theme surely would do well too, but I personally wouldn’t be as invested in that, mostly because JP/JW feature recognisable characters, vehicles, and scenes on top of the dinos. Or maybe the JW sets outsell the previous in-house themes by such a margin they simply have no other choice I mean JW is the first dino theme to have more than one wave, isn’t it? -

Namora being absent is a pretty big disappointment, but ultimately not all that surprising Hope Namor has his fancy hat at least to make up for that -

There‘s no way they‘d ever include a big exclusive creature part like that in a D2C I‘m sure the only reason the Wampa, Tauntaun, and Dewback were featured in D2C sets was because the moulds for them already existed. While I‘d prefer a newly moulded part too, a brick-built version will do. Better than not having a Blurrg at all! -

Yeah, I think that‘s a good explanation. Still pretty sucky, as most characters get a new costume every time they show up, so we‘re missing out on some really cool variants here -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Agreed. Kids love dinos, regardless of whether a new JW movie‘s out or not (Granted, with the same argument they could replace the theme with an in-house one, but I‘m glad they don‘t) I do wonder though which direction they‘re gonna take the theme. More sets based on the 6 movies (yes please!), CC, or made-up stuff again? Or a combination of the three? -
Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Exactly. PPR isn‘t an exact science since not every part is equally expensive to produce. You can‘t compare a 1x1 stud with a baseplate or a complex dual-moulded part In the example you provided, the bigger set has a lot more large pieces plus an additional minifig, so it makes sense for it to have a lower PPR. Jang‘s „volume of stuff“ is a better metric I‘d say So I think @Seaber is right, the new Grindylow part(s) must account for that, plus maybe some other new parts (fingers crossed for a new shark head!!) -

All of these DK books are released as minifig-less versions too, probably mostly for libraries and daycare centers Must‘ve been a mix-up. I haven‘t dealt with Amazon customer service before, but I‘m sure they can send you the proper version (unless you accidentally ordered the minifig-less version with the wrong picture) -

I know it‘s just a joke, but have you seen Ford recently? That guy is RIPPED. Being a 79 year old in 2022 is not the same thing as being 79 20 years ago Btw, how come we still don‘t have a release date for the sets yet? They’re still undated, even on the 2023 set list that promobricks published yesterday -
