Exciting! So if the official reveal is less than a week away, leaks could pop up any day now! …is what I would say under normal circumstances, but „true“ leaks have become so rare nowadays. Kudos to the “leak manager” TLG hired a while back. They did a good job it seems! To be honest though, I’m not missing them all that much. With official pictures being the only ones to drop, all the complaints about unfinished designs and placeholders are finally over at least

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
BrickBob Studpants replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Agreed! I liked S23, but the lack of animals really bothered me. Sure, it was a costume series, but even S18 had a fish, a spider, and that awesome mouse (that mysteriously has not been reused since) Hope they can make up for that with at least two animals in S24 (one recolour plus one entirely new one) -

Zaslav is again threatening us with a two-part adaptation of the Cursed Play I kinda hope TLG can wrap this theme up before that ever becomes a reality! Don‘t force me to buy sets based on that …thing -

Hold your horses, we don‘t even have a regular set yet! Besides, I’m convinced UCS sets based on anything other than the movies will remain a rarity. Mando is an absolute powerhouse for D+ and even there I‘m surprised they did the Razor Crest at all, let alone so quickly! I doubt we will ever see a UCS set based on any of the other shows, unless they manage to reach Mando‘s numbers and pop culture impact. -

Also, printing is applied after the legs get attached to the hips. Printing high up the legs would thus require the legs to be automatically bend all the way, have the print stamped on there, and then bend them back. That‘s at least one additional step compared to how it‘s usually done, and that can‘t be cheap Not really worth it just to allow better-looking posing as most of the time, you wouldn‘t even see it -

Luthen‘s ship really is just asking for a toy. A secret compartment with bomb-dropping feature and giant friggin‘ laser beams! Funny how most of my previous complaints have been addressed in this episode: Finally aliens that are more than background fodder and actually have some lines, some humour ( just cracks me up and the bit was gold), and a very memorable if brief action scene! Also: people were claiming for a while that a character would say „f*** the Empire“ on the show, which would have been pretty out of place. It kinda did happen, but I’m glad they used a fictional swear, as they should Hoping for a good finale! And a dramatic major character death too. With all these people coming to Ferrix, there‘s no way they all make it out alive! -

Yeah, Luthen's ship definitely deserves a set after that episode! Including Saw and Two Tubes would just be the icing on the cake. -

DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Alrighty, my list (least good to best): Kilman: I’ve seen Batman Forever like three times and I still don’t remember a single thing about his portrayal. Clowney: Say what you will, but there are some memorable moments with him (if for all the wrong reasons) Westman: Not really my cup of tea, but that scene where Joker threatens to beat Batsy to a pulp on the phone only for him to show up is just comedy gold. Batfleck: He‘s a complete and utter moron in BvS, but he gets some redemption in the end Keatonman: Love the design and Keaton‘s portrayal is simply iconic. Battinson: very close to Baleman in my opinion. I agree with @Mandalorianknight, his story just started, so it‘s no really fair to compare him to Baleman who has a complete story arc. Depending on where the sequels go, he might take the #1 spot Baleman, nuff said. For now… -

Yes, I love all the Stormie and Clone variants, whether they serve a story purpose or not The more the merrier! It does, but the only major difference is that they‘re not as muddy as those If we got them as minifigs, the helmet would be exactly the same as in the Solo TIE Fighter with different torso and leg prints, plus a riot shield. Not the most exciting thing in the world, but I‘d take it -

Of course there’s no chance Marvel is the first 2023 theme to be officially revealed. Friends already beat Marvel to it, followed by Avatar 2 And regarding the lack of descriptions: at least we have names, which is more than can be said for other themes For instance, we still have no clue what Mario sets we‘re getting! -

Sounds too good to be true, but I’ll remain cautiously optimistic. About time they release the final patronus animal as a “real” one! As long as Lindt don’t sue them for copyright infringement Just don’t print a red collar with a bell on it and we’re golden- 5,875 replies

Nice MOC, but this again highlights that sets based on the show would not have much to offer in terms of interesting minifigs. For instance, Lucasfilm have introduced at least one new type of Imperial/First Order trooper in every project since Rebels (except for TBoBF) and in a show set around the ideal timeframe for another variant, they just decided to ditch that?! Officers and ISB personnel are way less cool than any helmeted trooper In my opinion, out of all the live-action series so far, the one the needs another set the most is TBoBF. Still daydreaming about a set based on the season finale with Cad Bane, Santy, Pyke goons, a Skorpenek droid and Boba’s Rancor -
I’m not a finace expert, but don’t think LEGO sets are that great of an investment anymore, overall. Sure, some old sets had been sold for eye-watering sums of money, but ever since the mainstream media caught wind of it, lots of people started to hoard sets. I’d say the average 2022 set in MINT condition will never be as valuable as a 2002 set in the same condition, simply due to scarcity. Back then, there was no real incentive for a box to be held in pristine condition, unlike now. Also, people that only see it as an investment often lack the foresight to tell which sets might be sought after in the future. I think almost all fans predicted that the LOTR sets would be in demand again after their retirement, which is not necessarily the case for a random investor with no interest in neither the toys nor the franchise they’re based on Then again, it’s sometimes impossible to tell, even for fans. Nobody expected the sudden spike in the popularity of Rebels years after the first season, rendering the 2014 set very desirable

Not sure why people were this obsessed with the idea of an anniversary in the first place. Do you really want golden minifigs that badly? Besides, we’ve already been getting Infinity Saga sets for a while now, so it’s not like we’re in desperate need for throwback sets -

I‘m not saying Luthen or Kino should‘ve been aliens, but some of the side characters in the prison or heist arcs (or more of the workers on Ferrix other than just the one) pretty easily could‘ve been I look forward to the reveals, but wake me up when the real interesting stuff gets revealed in March -

Of course it‘s not on the same level. My point was that emotions don‘t necessarily need a human face to be conveyed. Kinda ironic, considering Mr MoCap himself is in the show Good. Sure hope so -

Hehe, I knew somebody would bring this up They made a point of showing how fast the TIE Fighter was flying over the rebels for intimidation purposes, so there was no way the pilot would‘ve recognised them in their disguise even if the Dhani were non-human. Grogu. BB-8. R2. 3PO. Chewy. Mando in his helmet. We can easily read emotions with all of these characters Also, a lot of classic SW aliens have very human-like features -

Yeah, as much as the show has grown on me over the weeks, that’s still one of my bigger gripes with it. None of the characters really stick out in terms of visuals, which would also make for pretty dull minifigs. The aliens are mostly background fodder and barely have any speaking lines. Not even Mas Amedda shows up in the Senate scenes. Come on! And the excuse Gilroy made doesn’t add up either (him not knowing how to weave alien species into the plot). The Dhanis for instance easily could‘ve been an alien species. Also, still not sure why there wasn’t even a single alien in the entire prison. Don’t tell me humans are the only sentient species not resistant to electrocution -

Couldn’t agree more. Accessory packs simply don’t work as armybuilders with that sort of availability But even if they did include unique characters, the budget for these is so low you can’t expect more than two new prints out of them anyway. That said, I would still like to see new ones, but I’m certain we would’ve heard about them by now.
