  1. 60?! Are you counting every single random background student and Death Eater? In terms of actually important characters, it‘s closer to twenty or so.
  2. Well, what else are they going to spend their budget on this wave? Besides Fang and Norbert, that is. And maybe some other creatures in that forbidden forest set, but I have a feeling they‘ll mostly be brickbuilt à la Newt‘s suitcase. I‘ll take insignificant variants over repeats any day!
  3. Easily indeed. In my ranking, the remaining top spots go to the other two Ahsoka sets The best subtheme in a long time, and these three sets also individually outshine everything else released this year (even the Gunship and the Venator)!
  4. Huh, I haven‘t realised those outfits were different! Since we most likely don‘t get any new characters in this wave, these exclusive variants are the least they can do
  5. Sets: Durmstrang ship, troll on the loose, third task, Lovegood house Minifigs: BoH Ron, Xenophilius Lovegood, Narcissa Malfoy, Bill Weasley, other variants of Lockhart with the BTS hairpiece, Karkaroff The list gets shorter and shorter, but there are still some notable gaps I hope we can at least partialy fill next summer
  6. The hypothetical new one. The old minifig is too valuable Or I could pull the ultimate move and order one of the SDCC figures, just to devour it. No accessories
  7. Just to make sure nobody forgets this one: I will film myself eating a Deadpool minifig dressed as Deadpool and put it on Youtube for the world to see if TLG release at least one minifig-based tie-in set for that film. And by that I mean actual tie-in products, no Suicide Squad shenanigans TLG have made plenty of unexpected moves, but I'm with @THELEGOBATMAN, this is the line they won't cross.
  8. You mean here on EB or in general? Because voicing warranted criticism for what many perceive as boring set (and especially minifig) choices is far from „extremely toxic“. The discussion has been civil and the criticism isn’t that harsh. It‘s not like we‘re calling for people to be fired! *squints at 2021 Star Wars thread*
  9. Avatar 2 is neither R-rated nor a bloodbath And let‘s not forget all the profanity and sex jokes Deadpool is known for.
  10. I see your point, but when we were lamenting the lack of smaller sets, this is not what we had in mind Last year’s carriage also didn’t feature new characters, but it was a new vehicle, the minifigs were exclusive variants, and we got an uncommon creature plus a new baby one. This set however will in all likelihood include two incredibly common minifigs, their common pets, and one of the least magical-looking things in the entire franchise I know it’s a flying car, but without context, it’s just an ordinary blue car with two kids, an owl, and a rat. By far the weakest small HP set I can think of. There’s a good reason all of the previous versions were sidebuilds
  11. Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy just described the film as an “R-rated bloodbath”, for those who still think that sets are on the table
  12. I like the sound of Hagrid’s Hut as that’s a often-requested remake, and the Owlery and boat house are are at least new, despite being severely lacklustre in the minifig department The rest sound mediocre. I will not pass final judgment until we see pictures, but the negative responses are not unwarranted IMO. Not surprising when you have a wave with 7 sets and not a single new character in sight At least we’re getting new animals, that’s something!
  13. Ouch. Well, I wasn’t expecting much anyway Venomised Mr Sinister, here we come
  14. Harry has a different faceprint Seriously though, I get your point, but I don’t mind the repeats at all. They were basically gift characters in the DA set (not being advertised on the box and all that), so having a couple extra minifigs is not a bad thing, even if they’re almost identical. They’re sort of separate from the display anyway, being on a stand with a quote And as @RedHoodPug points out, they probably don’t think that far ahead. I doubt the designers thought “nah, we can’t put Harry and Hagrid in DA, they’re gonna show up again in the Gringotts expansion we’re gonna do at some point!”
  15. Looks great, but the stand gives me a headache. I was expecting its footprint to be similar to the SD‘s, but its „legs“ are spread much farther apart. Now I don‘t think I‘ll be able to display it at the angle I had in mind Back to the drawing board!
  16. I’m almost guaranteed to set myself up for disappointment, but I’m still hoping that some of the minifigs are just placeholders and will be replaced by more interesting characters. Just like McGonagall in the prelim picture of Dumbledore‘s Office, which turned out to be Mme Pince in the end Of course none of these sets have even the slightest potential of including highly desirable characters, but there are still some minor ones they could put into sets like these (such as Prof Vector or Prof Grubbly-Plank). And if the list is 100% finalised, at least we‘re getting Fang and some other animals
  17. That one was originally introduced in a City set where it has to be rescued from a forest fire, and it has one eye closed because of the smoke Pretty specific print, but it still fits into HP, I think. But I agree, a sitting version of the sand blue one would be cool! Or a reprint of the flying tan one from BAM, but those parts always stay exclusive, sadly. I would also like to see the dark bluish grey one from the 2010/11 sets return. And yeah, the new small one from Marvel CMF S2 needs to be featured here too! My thoughts on the individual sets: Hedwig: our third buildable Hedwig (fourth if you count the Dots one), but at least it’s in a new scale. That’s… something? Sorting Hat: the best thing about this is the fact it’s the very first confirmed set from the survey leak!! Owlery: More owls is neat, but I don’t give a flying **** about the minifigs. We’ve had enough Harrys, Chos, and Filches already. Boathouse: BORING Flying Ford: BOOOOORING Forbidden Forest: Excruciatingly repetitive minifigs, but the animals have a lot of potential! Hagrid’s Hut: the clear highlight of the wave. Once again, boring minifigs (unless Hagrid gets an apron and mittens), but Fang and Norbert(a) are excellent additions! Pretty mixed bag overall. Us animal fans are getting a 5* luxurious dinner, but us minifig fans are starving. I’m both, so that puts me in a funny superposition where I’m both eating well and starving
  18. No, it hasn’t A lot of people want that expansion with Lizard! It’s the best-sounding 1HY Marvel set by far.
  19. Animal-wise, this wave sounds indeed fantastic! Location-wise, it sounds decent. Build-wise, it sounds meh. Minifig-wise, it sounds absolutely terrible. It’s an okay-ish wave overall, but 7 sets and not a single new character in sight (except for a random student or two if we‘re lucky?) has to set a new record
  20. I like the sound of the „BP“, even though there‘s nothing really new included And yeah, I kinda wish it featured a Clone with yellow markings as another nod to the original 2007 BPs
  21. Doesn‘t sound terrible, but the apparent lack of new characters or significant variants is disappointing. Fang and Norbert(a) would be excellent though! Taking the list with a grain of salt before we get confirmation from the established leakers
  22. A yellow Lando absolutely would not have worked In my opinion, the switch to realistic skin tones for licensed characters was an excellent decision. The yellow licensed characters from back in the day look extremely dated now. And speaking of dated: I don‘t mind simplicity, but most of these designs were way too simple for my liking.
  23. Still waiting for minifiguremaddness to receive their CMF boxes (next week hopefully!) The only drawback to ordering from them is that it always takes a while before they can dispatch their orders. Can‘t wait to get my hands on them!
